We stayed in an Executive Suite for three nights during the week in August. The hotel was by no means full as evident by the public spaces, but the (friendly) service all the same was lacking in carefulness and precision. We were disappointed by the state of the suite and response we received after we requested improvement. Positives: The hotel is in an excellent location close to the pedestrian zone and many attractions. Each staff member that we encountered in the hotel was very friendly and accommodating, even if his or her efforts did not bring about the desired results. The reception at arrival was warm and welcoming. The bathroom in the suite was tremendous (perhaps even larger than the bedroom) with much counter space for toiletries. The bed was very comfortable with a cover that was more than sufficient. We received a kind note and a bottle of champagne from the hotel for the special occasion that we were celebrating there. We had a drink one evening at the roof top bar that has a view over the city that, while not spectacular, is enjoyable on a warm evening with a full moon. Negatives: Considering that the hotel itself is only five years old, we were surprised about the somewhat run-down condition of the suite. The wooden flooring was very scratched and scuffed, the mirror in the bathroom chipped, the vanity table in the bathroom (an actually very useful item) had lighting that did not work, and the television in the bathroom mirror was dysfunctional as well (we were told at check-out that these two things are no longer functional.) Amenities were missing and the television in the bedroom did not work on our first day in the suite (both were later remedied), the lighting in the closet areas was totally insufficient, the air conditioning started to emit warm air in the night, and somehow every day, including after arrival, we had multiple flies in the room although we never opened any windows. We needed to mention these problems to a number of staff members before any attempt was made to fix these problems The suite was facing the street (Schubertring) and the traffic noise despite the double windows could be heard at night. Breakfast was surprisingly small compared to other Ritz Carlton hotels (Berlin), although more items might have been available per order only, and the service was often quite slow. Considering the cost of the suite in relation to what we experienced, we would probably choose a different hotel for our next stay in Wien. We received apologies from the staff with whom we spoke upon check-out as to the state of the suite (and received an email) and were told that the hotel will already undergo renovation work soon. We understand that the hotel can’t change the behavior of guests who do not treat their rooms with care, but our expectations were not met here and all of these relatively small issues together gave us a less than ideal impression as a whole. A beautiful hotel in a great location close to the city centre. Our whole experience of the hotel was first class. We were greeted warmly at the reception desk and as we had a Club room we were taken to the Club Lounge to check in. Our flight had been delayed and as it was late evening we were given a light meal. The staff in the Club Lounge were extremely helpful & friendly throughout our stay organising excursions and restaurants for us, I can recommend the steakhouse at the hotel and a lovely Italian restaurant Danielli"s about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The Rooftop Bar was lovely with magnificent views of Vienna and again the staff were pleasant and efficient. Our stay was a truly memorable experience and we would definitely stay there again. We had the pleasure of staying on the Executive Club level for 6 days/5 nights and experienced a very high level of service that was professional, but warm and appropriately friendly, as well. The rooms were very nicely appointed and large by European standards. The location is ideal, as it is in the heart of Vienna. The hotel is adjacent to beautiful Stadtpark, we could walk to the Opera House and all of the Hofburg palace sites. There are both tram stops and underground stations within a block. The service was truly outstanding. Laurin, Mark, Caterina, Paula and Lily made our stay wonderful. They helped us plan day trips, summoned a dr. when needed (I will be forever grateful to Paula for her assistance) and attended to our every need and desire during our stay. The food and beverage selection in the Executive Club was delicious and plentiful. (Try one of Laurin's special mixed drinks!) The pastries, of course, were delectable and rivaled any we had at the more "famous" cafes. Collapse

I have been staying at different Ritz Carlton Hotels all over the world. The Vienna location was one of the places I would like to stay again if I get a chance! The concierge service was absolutely perfect. We are a big time foodies and when we asked for restaurants that locals went to, the concierge staff members were a bit hesitant to recommend. They asked multiple times if we were sure to go to those restaurants. Not sure why they were concerned. Because all the restaurants we went were amazing!!! Their indoor pool was clean and quiet. Their gym was clean and well maintained as well. Collapse
