Just visited the hotel to join Ozone were service was excellent. On arrival I was short of cash to pay the taxi and Mr Torsten Lai the assistant guest services manager lent me the missing cash. I know this is common when you are staying at the hotel but I was truly delighted to see he would offer this service to an external guests. His service set the standards. Thank you again. Even our twelve year old's jaw dropped when he saw the opulence of what $750 a night gets you. Super convenient via train in the basement of the Uber high end mall under this architectural money tower. So many staff you'll be worried about where they all sleep. Views from 100 plus floors in the ozone. All amenities ritzy. Ditch the kid and get a drink at the world' highest bar. Or a dip in the world's highest pool (with the kid if behaved). It's a one night stay once in your life. Collapse

We had a nice tipme with very warm and friendly greeting from the staff, as soon as we first walked into the hotel. All people were helpful, professional and personable and immediately knew that if we needed anything or had issues then Ian would be the man to put it right. Alas it was , we had no problems or issues throughout our stay and had a lovely time. Our room had all the mod cons and more. The view from our room window was overlooking the small side street. We went to the hotel indoor/outdoor bar. That was impressive. The the hotel is quite narrow which is good because there aren't many rooms to each floor (maybe 8 rooms). Hence it was nice and quiet. Rooms were very clean. We loved the stay. Collapse

Having travelled through Hong Kong on a number of occassions my normal go-to hotel would be the Intercontinental. However, my curiosity of what lay in the towering International Commerce Centre got the better of me and on this occasion I thought I'd give the Ritz-Carlton a go. Getting to hotel from the airport is fairly simple in that you just need to take the airport express and get off at Kowloon Station. The station leads into the Elements shopping mall (which is full of designer stores like Gucci, Versace etc) and directions to the hotel are fairly well sign posted, taking around 10mins of walking through the mall to get to the hotel. To get to the main check in desk, on the 108th floor, is reached via the elevators in the mini lobby on the ground floor. Your ears will pop as you travel up! The check-in process was quick and simple. While i was checking in, a couple next to me were compounding about a damp smell in their room, something that ive read in several other rooms. My main gripe here was that I would have expected to been shown to my room or at least been shown how to use the elevator, which only works with your room key card. Had to been shown by another guest how to use it. The decor and feel of the corridors and elevator certainly felt 5 star. My room was a Deluxe Victoria Harbour View room, which has the best views across Kowloon and Hong Kong island. The room was an ok size and fortunately the weather was great during my stay so had no interrupted views. When you enter the room there was certainly a musky odour, which I did query with the bell boy who brought up my luggage, and he gave a strange reason that 'I was not used to the Hong Kong air'. However the smell was not noticeable after a few minutes in the room. The room was modern, had a large king size bed and in my opinion better than those at the Intercontinental. Later in the evening I went up to Ozone Bar, where hotel guests get priority to use the outside terrace. Although you're right at the top of the building you don't feel cold and as you'd expect the views were pretty amazing. I did order room service, cheese burger and fries, which was pretty good. Breakfast in the morning was downstairs and was seated right up at the front against the windows with, once again great views, across the harbour. I was a little underwhelmed by the choice available at breakfast, condideting how much you pay for it. This is where the Intercontinental trumps the Ritz-Carlton. In conclusion, and I might have quite a few people disagreeing with me on this, but although the view from the hotel is great, I felt some what distant from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. In my opinion I prefer the view from the Intercontinental...but only just. Secondly, the room rates are double that of the Intercontinental...not sure that its worth the difference, which is why i gave it a 4 star. But where the Ritz-Carlton really won it for me was the staff. Ive stayed in a few 5 star hotels and you always find staff to be too serious and curt but the Ritz Carlton showed what service should be like..friendly, talkative, always coming to you to say hello and have a sense of humour. I would have given the service a 6 star rating if I could - Intercontinental you can certainly learn a lesson from these guys on this. Collapse
