We were a group of three female friends and the Reykjavik Lights was perfect for us. The hotel is modern and clean. We were able to get a triple room, with three comfortable single beds. The room was modern, clean, nicely decorated, with a great en suite with a good rainfall shower. The room was warm and cosy, and super quiet. The stay here was so relaxing. The buffet breakfast is plentiful with a good range of choice... cooked breakfast items, continental meats and cheeses, cereals, pastries, fruit, pancakes, breads and plenty of beverage choices. The breakfast area is also clean and practical, and offers plenty of seating. In the reception area there is a bar offering alcoholic drinks, and good coffee. I recommend the caramel latte. There are two computers in a communal use area with internet access. If you need to print anything, you can do so here as the computers are linked to the printer on reception. There is also good wifi in the hotel. There are plenty of English speaking programmes available to watch on the flat screen TV's in the rooms, and BBC news is show in the communal areas. The staff are very pleasant and professional. On the ground floor there are two linked restaurants. Fresco was closed during our stay, however we visited the pizza place twice. Great freshly baked pizza, super tasty, standard Icelandic pricing (quite expensive). As with everything experienced in Iceland, good quality and very happy. With the pizza, and the hotel. Would definitely stay here again. Oooh, one final thing though, the hotel is just a little out of the very centre. It took us about 15-20 mins to walk to the main street of Reykjavic city centre. It was a pleasant, straightforward, direct walk, but we had good weather. We were told it was also on the bus route and was easy to get in via bus, although we didn't bother with this. We loved our stay here! Collapse

We have just got back from staying at the Reykjavik Lights Hotel, I do not usually write reviews but felt compelled to do so. The hotel is spotlessly clean, we had a room on the 5th floor at the front of the hotel, road is busy but it does not disturb you. And the views are amazing at the front. Staff are a pleasure to deal with friendly, helpful, courteous and all speak really great english. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice it is more than just a continental, fresh pastries, fruit, eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, cereal, hot porridge breads and more. Rooms are cosy and always warm, shower is lovely after a long day out in the cold. Slept really well comfy beds and pillows. The country and people are lovely I highly recommend staying at the Reykjavik Lights Hotel you won't be disappointed. Keep doing what you are doing reykjavik lights and thank you for an amazing stay. Clean hotel not too far from city center. If you are looking for a pleasant, no frills experience then this is a great stop for the price. However book your own tours online before departure or through one of the many tour agencies found throughout town. Hotel staff tries to help book, but they are not very clear or certain about offerings. Additionally do not have records of what you did or did not purchase. So whether or not the tour shows up and you have the proper documentation to experience your tour is 'hit or miss'. It can be rather frustrating when all you are trying to do is enjoy a new city. Definitely put a damper on my experience there. Collapse

My husband and I flew in and arrived in Iceland at 6:30am. We had our first night booked with this hotel and were exhausted from not sleeping on the flight. We were extremely happy that they let us check in much earlier than normal and at no additional cost so we could crash for a few hours, shower and start our day. The rooms are spacious and clean. Coffee available in the rooms as well and the complimentary breakfast was delicious! Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend! Collapse

This hotel is definitely worth using as a base for your Iceland explorations... We stayed here 2 nights as part of a package deal which took me and my Fiancee around Iceland, and is the hotel room we got engaged in! (So obviously I have fond memories of this hotel). The hotel is about a 20 min walk away from the main strip, but the hotel are very accommodating to help you get there the way you want too. The rooms are clean and smart, and the staff are friendly. As far as value hotels goes this is a very good one, and I would say thats a very rare thing in Iceland. I would definitely stay here again if I was staying in Reykjavik again. Collapse
