Nice hotel on the perfect location. On the beach with many nice restaurants around. Rooms are outdated with carpet on the floor but very good bed. Good breakfast and nice slightly outdated gym and large pool. Very friendly staff.

I stay at the renaissance to help keep my platinum status. It is currently Undergoing a renovation and I was given one of the new rooms. I was really surprised. Historically, the hotel is been on the run downside. This time, the rooms were very nice. I would encourage you to try to take one of the new rooms and I encourage the hotel to continued reservations. The Internet is also a very good quality. My favorite part of the hotel is that I have been coming to this hotel for many many years and the staff never turns over. That means you start to have good relationships with the staff which is really nice when you’re traveling on business. Collapse

I was incredibly grateful to the front counter staff who let me check-in at 8am after flying from Australia, so a long flight, despite check in normally being at 3pm! The rest of the trip was just as memorable, with the breakfast staff remembering me every morning and giving me my favourite table and always with a big smile. And the best breakfast I've had anywhere! But the view was an absolute highlight - I could see the Mediterranean from my room as well as Jaffa! A truly spectacular sight night and day. Excellent housekeeping, wifi, security and convenience store. I would absolutely love to return and highly recommend the Renaissance to anyone traveling to Tel Aviv. Collapse

This hotel is tired, and I doubt that the renovations currently in progress will suffice to overcome underlying systemic issues. The first room I was allocated was on a non-renovated floor. The hallway was dingy and depressing. The room itself was small, with heavy wooden furniture well past its prime overcrowding the available space. The room also didn't meet the cleanliness bar, with dirty glasses, hairs in the sink, and a stale odor from the ancient carpet. I asked for a new room and was given a very similar one on a different floor. The next day I received a call from management, and was moved to a south-facing room on a renovated floor. Those floors are like a completely different hotel. The hallways are bright, and I was amazed at what they were able to do with the small space in the room itself. The bathrooms have been completely redone, and even the wifi seemed to work better. I am a Platinum Marriott Rewards member, which might have had something to do with ultimately getting me into one of their better rooms. Even renovated rooms can't hide problems with the hotel infrastructure. Walls can be thin; I was able to hear conversations inside rooms across the halls and next door. The air conditioning and plumbing emit a variety of disruptive noises at all hours. The old-fashioned minibars -- not replaced in the renovations -- make all kinds of mildly irritating refrigerator noises. The entries into the rooms are narrow and difficult to navigate, especially with luggage. Although they've made good use of the space with the renovations, the rooms and especially the bathrooms are *tiny*. There are not enough elevators, making 5-10 minute waits to get an elevator a sadly routine experience. On the plus side, the hotel is in an excellent location right on the beach. I walked all over Tel Aviv, including down the boardwalk to Jaffa, up to the old port Area, and to other hotspots. Finally, the hotel never credited my stay to the Marriott Rewards program, forcing me to chase this with Marriott. That's an instant one star deduction from what would otherwise have been a 3-star review. Collapse

Although it could be that this review was affected emotionnally by the fact that when my wife and myself spent the 10 th of november 2017 week end at the hotel We received the sad news on friday evening that my dear father passed away in jerusalen . being shabath keeper we couldnt do anything but being sad and crying till travelling back to jerusalem and the end of shabath . We want to emphasize : The deluxe room we received on the 10th floor was small and noisy when we heard discussion and tv from the next room . The room was standard and it s difficult to understand a deluxe classification There is no parking at the hotel and we had to park our car at atarim square parking next to gordon swimming pool at a charge of 92nis from friday evening till saturday evening . We dont think that there is reason for a luxurious hotel to be without parking facility and for guests to walk with luggage from the parking to the hotel . We were on a full board basis when the service in the dining room was really bad .Only we seemed to finish a plate , without asking if possible the waiter "kidnapped" the empty plate . The shabath elevator is very poor and tiny and outside the guest espace in the hotel employee espace . We dont think that this hotel deserve a luxurious classification Collapse
