The hotel looks modest from the outside, but really shows quite well when you get inside. We had an opportunity to decide whether we wanted a standard room and junior suite to accommodate my wife and I and my daughter and granddaughter. Or whether we wanted to stay in the Penthouse. We decided to stay in the Penthouse. So glad we did. The room is very well designed, sleek and contemporary, and elegant. The design, the space, the TERRACE with view of Parisian rooftops and terraces is an unbeatable value. It has a beautiful terrace with lots of room and a hot tub! Even in cool weather we used the terrace and hot tub every evening either before or after dinner. The crew at breakfast, especially Mohammed were excellent. The concierge crew, the entire team was first class all the way. The team was happy to work there, and I'm sure hotel management has lots to do with it. Everyone was helpful and ready to assist. The breakfast is okay value if you have to pay for it, but if you can get it as part of the room package or b/c of Marriott Rewards status, it is a really good deal. The hotel has a protected outdoor terrace and it was really a beautiful space. Great for cocktails in the evening or coffee during the day. The restaurant was closed for dinner during our stay.. can't comment on quality of dinner. Housekeeping was really excellent and topnotch as you'd expect in a hotel like this. I think the key feature of the hotel is location. The hotel is located in a part of Paris where "real life" seems to happen. It doesn't have a touristy feel. And its the way we like it. There is a Metro station 50 m outside the door. It is so convenient to get ANYWHERE. The Seine/Louvre Museum are a relaxing 30 min walk away. It takes minutes on the Metro to get anywhere most folks would want to visit. As a bonus there is a grocery store right across the street from the hotel. And an amazing, modestly priced Chinese Restaurant. We will be staying there again for sure. Just one suggestion: The terrace and hot tub are key parts of the valued provided by the Penthouse. The hotel should consider making turn-down service include the terrace. Turn-down service should include lighting the candles and lamps, and having the hot tub ready to go. This simple step that takes 15 min would really amp up the charm of the terrace. Collapse

Had traveled to Paris and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We got 2 rooms to accommodate 5 people. The rooms were small as would be expected in most of Paris but they were modern and clean with all the basics you need. The shower was awesome with great water pressure, bed was comfortable, the staff was very nice. Breakfast was better than average but would find better food for dinner if you leave the hotel and just walk around a bit. We traveled with kids but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a kid friendly hotel. We did just fine though. The location is a little shady... Its more than fine during the day but Republique at night gets a bit dark. Some stance characters walking about. Hotel was very security conscious. Metro station access is like 100 meters away, easy. Why stay in a Marriott in Paris? Lack of patience really. Got tired of poking around quirky websites that froze my computer. Found this intriguing place on the Place de la Republique. As a treat booked connecting rooms for my 18 yo daughter and myself. This is a new boutique hotel (90ish rooms) trying to project a hip, exciting, romantic image. Since the Place de la Republique is slightly grotty, I'm not so sure about the romance, but I give this hotel 5 stars for 3 reasons: 1) The food in the dining room is amazing! The setting is is great and you can dine on a protected terrace. We had a dessert neither I or the waiter could describe. Fabulous though. 2} Best shower I've ever had in a hotel, or maybe anywhere. 3) Best hotel bed ever. And very quiet room. The staff were great, especially the waiters, barman, and concierge. The rooms are high design. Get them to show you how the room works - my daughter was smart enough to do this so she showed me. Location is good: near Gar du Nord, metro stop, Canal St Martin, edge of Marais. For light food, people watching, hanging out, step over to the Cafe Pachyderme. Lovely place. Try it. Collapse

Great location with nearby metro stop. We explored Paris with ease thanks to the wonderful concierge desk and the central location. We felt so at home, thanks to the amazing staff throughout the hotel! Breakfast was delicious and Mohammed is a star in the way he carries out his job. Ask if the penthouse is available and enjoy the beautiful views and jacuzzi... We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Merci beaucoup! Collapse

Beautifully designed and appointed rooms. Clean and modern, yet with a distinctive Parisian flare. The Junior suite level rooms are simply stunning. One thing that may shock you on first entry is the "fish bowl" bathroom. There are shades that you can pull down if you need privacy but, if you are there alone I say leave the blinds up as it makes the space feel so much larger. The staff was top notch. Check in, with smooth and quick. The hotel is a long walk away from any of the typical Paris tourist attractions (Eiffel, Louvre, etc) but it is within 2 minute walk of restaurants, shopping and the Metro. Collapse
