I visited the hotel for business purposes and stayed 2 nights. In general it's good hotel, with good service as long as you are not (!) at 1st floor. Apparently the water pressure is very low, and not enough there was a general water supply problem (that was known a day before it was fixed), but I found out the first floor is suffering from special low pressure and as I was told by the receptionist itself, they know of several rooms there with a problem!! So make sure you get the 6th floor... other than that fine breakfast with good service (and I asked for Gluten Free bread that was supplied without any problem). Collapse

I've stayed here several times over the years, last time I stayed in a suite so probably not surprising I was a bit disappointed in a standard room this time. I arrived on Sunday afternoon and stayed 2 nights. In my Marriott Rewards profile I have set up standard preferences of high floor, extra feather pillows, extra towels, but it seems this time that none of these were specifically catered for (I got a room on the 3rd floor, no extra pillows or towels apparent). The rooms are still pretty nice but to me at least they start to look a bit tired: unsightly looking scratches on wooden doors, tired looking pillow cases (don't know how old they are). I received a "free" (?) small bottle of water in the room on day 2 but there was none there on day 1, I don't know why. You have to phone if you want a turndown service and on the bedside locker there is a card saying they will change the bed linen every 3 days I think but if you want it changed more frequently than that to please ask. I left the card on the bed (in some other hotels the card states if you want the linen changed to do this). However in this hotel the card didn't state this and I'm not sure if the linen was changed or not or if I needed to phone to ask for this specifically. I had a room overlooking the street and due to some noise on both early mornings I would ask for a quieter room next time. For as long as I've stayed there in the early hours of the morning you seem to get some rubbish collections from the hotel, wake to the sound of stacks of glass bottles crashing over each other but maybe this is nothing the hotel can do anything about, having these collections and associated noise at a more reasonable time of the day. I left my bathroom toiletries on the sink in bathroom sitting on the airport zip-lock security plastic bag I brought them in. The cleaning lady re-arranged the toiletries very neatly but decided to throw away the bag meaning I must now try to pick one up at the airport this evening to get these toiletries through airport security on my return flight. Breakfast was nice if a bit inconsistent: on day 1 there was Emmental cheese (which I like) but none on day 2 (2 rows of perhaps Gouda cheese instead, which I don't like). The range of food offered also seems to have been reduced compared to during my previous stays. The glasses offered for juice and water at breakfast are the smallest I have seen in any hotel: really just tall shot glasses. During previous stays I was never able to get an espresso coffee, they just plonk a large pot of standard coffee on your table even if you don't ask for it. Surprisingly on day 2 of my stay this time one of the breakfast staff asked me if I wanted tea or coffee and when I asked if an espresso was possible he said yes (there is now a Starbucks counter in the lobby). I booked a rate, pre-paid in advance, where breakfast was free if you paid with visa (which I did). At breakfast now you have to complete a form giving your name, room number, signature and saying if breakfast is included in your rate or not. I did this on day 1 but when I got my advance check-out bill on the 2nd night it showed an extra €25 breakfast charge so I had to go to reception to ask to get this taken off, which was a bit of a waste of my time and theirs, an unnecessary, unpleasant and totally avoidable experience given that at check-in the lady had confirmed of her own accord that breakfast was free since I had pre-paid with visa. I had also ticked the breakfast form on morning 1 to say breakfast was included in my rate, so either the breakfast staff didn't believe me or there was some administrative problem at reception or accounts when dealing with this form. It seems from other tripadvisor reviews that getting charged for breakfast when it is included in the rate is a quite regular occurrence in this hotel. The hotel have spent money refurbishing the lobby area but I wonder is some refurbishment of the rooms warranted at this stage. I also don't understand why the club lounge seems to be closed over the weekend if booking a room with that included (guests can get breakfast there but over the weekend it seems they give you a % discount off the main breakfast instead). Booked a family room and got two connecting rooms, which was good. Nice facilities in room, if not a little tired in places. Booked this hotel as it had a pool, but on checking in was told children could not use the pool after 6, which after a four hour car journey with the promise of swimming at the end of it, was far from ideal. No milk provided in room for coffee, so asked for some to be brought up by room service, and got charged 3€ for the it. Good secure parking available under the hotel, but at nearly 30€ for an overnight stay, very pricey. Nice hotel, but expensive for what is on offer. Collapse

Very nice hotel. Great room, as was expected at a renaissance. Great bed, and good bathroom. Around 20 min walk from downtown area, 15 min to High end shopping. Breakfast was however not that Great. All Daily products was like warm. Bread was not crisp as fresh Bread usually are. Coffee not that Great either. Good internet connection in room, Assume free for all, but at least for members. Nice and pleasant personel, and quit helpfull with directions etc. Had a minor hickup when leaving, as the hotel have charged us for breakfast, which was included in our rate. Collapse

Nice hotel in clean tidy part of city about ten minutes walk from central station. Facilities are good with clean pool and sauna. Food in the onsite restaurant was good and not overly expensive. Staff are helpful and attentive.
