We have just stayed at the Renaissance hotel in Aix-en-Provence. We arrived at 2pm and our room was ready and waiting. The people at the reception desk were very welcoming and friendly and spoke to us in good english even though I speak French fluently having gone to school in France. As we were rather tired, we ate in the hotel restaurant that night. The food was delicious, though very simple and the wine was great. Be aware, some wines are over 1000€.Our very good wine was 68€ for a bottle. At breakfast we got the requested eggs Benedict which were also great. The room was very nice and large for European standards AND very clean.Windows can open and, when closed, were totally soundproofed. This was our first visit to this hotel, but not our last. I also want to try the spa. As we live just across the border in Spain,we will come back. The hotel is really at walking distance from the center of Aix-en-Provence and I need a walking stick, but I did it in about 10 minutes. Great hotel, great situation, great rooms, great, though simple food and great service on any level at this hotel. Collapse

Stayed here to attend a seminar, the meeting rooms are so small and old fashion, they need full refurbishment. Rooms are ok, the area is calm so any room will work. Room service is average, but be aware that if you order a club sandwich, you will get cold bread will lettuce and 2 small cubes of chicken for 30 euros! is so sad and expensive. Restaurant is average too, with the terrible french service that takes a lot of time to serve and even take the order. They have parking (that you have to pay for) and valet parking which is quite useful. Collapse

Great hotel over Christmas weekend! Our room was on the top level with an amazing view of Aix. The staff were super friendly. The room was kept clean. The bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was amazing. We had Christmas dinner at the restaurant and it was pretty good. The location is a super short walk to the center. Great experience! Collapse

Have staid there for a weekend and liked it so much I'm already here again for a longer stay. Staff is very good, always here to help, special mentions for Jalila (who helped me fix an issue after my first stay) and Melanie (who's making my second stay really special). Location is great, a short walk from the city center and still in a quiet uncrowded area. Shopping, museums, restaurants and casino are all at walking distance. Breakfast is five star level with everything you may expect plus on demand eggs, waffles, pancakes... Pool and hammam area are very well maintained. We had very disappointing experiences with 4 or 5 stars hotels in the region, Renaissance Aix has been above expectations. Will definitely be back again. Collapse

We just loved this place. First I should say that we stayed here (at the front and back end of our Provence trip) on Marriott rewards points, so the cost was not an issue. And, since we have Platinum status, they upgraded us to an outrageous and huge suite (what's not to love about that?), but the staff was amazing and friendly, the breakfast buffet was terrific, the hotel decor was very pretty, and the hotel is located just outside of the center of town, so it is quite, but close enough to make it a very easy walk back and forth. Highly recommend it for a stay in Aix. Collapse
