Checked in to the Renaissance Aix and was cheerfully met by Roman who helped us with parking and bags. He does everything from bellman, valet and concierge. When we came down to walk to dinner Roman already addressed us by name. World class service. Great rooms, excellent location and fantastic breakfast. Julien in the dining room was fantastic helping me with coffee early in the morning then waiting on us for breakfast. The manager of the restaurant was friendly and accommodating also. Again world class service. You can walk to old town in 10 minutes from the hotel and we loved the modern hotel after staying in rustic accomodations throughout Italy and France. Great job by all. Great hotel very convenient to old town. Nice rooms, excellent breakfast buffet. Lots of art throughout relatively new hotel. Staff is wonderful. A bit tricky to find if driving - ask for directions and follow signs - valet parking is easiest.

I have visited the Reanaisance Aix in August 2015 and have returned one year later. My second stay was as good as my first. Great location, relaxed atmosphere, nice staff and excellent breakfast! The rooms are large, nicely decorated and well-appointed. I am a light sleeper and was pleased to ascertain that this is the hotel has very silentious" doors; they do not slam or make noise then shut. A big plus for the designer. I have plans to visit Aix again and have no reason to think of other other. The Renaissance is just too good! Collapse

Stayed here with my husband and two children (8 & 11yrs) in a 2 X double bedded room. The room was ample big enough for us. The hotel receptionist on check in was very helpful and recommend plenty of activities/sights for our visit. The pool was a little small for the children but it nevertheless gave them an opportunity to have a dip. The outside garden space was enjoyable too. In short, if you are looking for a city hotel, this will tick all the boxes for a family break. Collapse

In this hotel you can be sure you are completely looked after in all aspects. The bedrooms are minimalistic but comfortably stylish. The staff are very friendly and willing to do anything in order to make your stay pleasant. We arrived after staying in 'basic' accommodation for the previous week and were in awe of the luxurious demeanor of the hotel and surroundings. The pool is small and indoors however there are doors which are regularly opened out to the terrace outside. From the hotel there is only a short walk 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Aix with a multitude of restaurants to choose from, which the staff at the hotel are more than happy to recommend and book. The only downside for us was the breakfast. Many people appeared to have breakfast included in their room package so they got access to the full buffet choice on display. However, for us we did not have breakfast included so had to choose between 26 euros for the full buffet or 12 euros for the continental. Unwilling to pay 26 euros just for breakfast we chose the 12 euro continental. This consisted on 1 glass of orange juice, tea of coffee and only pastries which were brought to you in a large stack on the table, almost making you prisoner to your table and a subtle reminder that you could not leave your table to get anything fro the buffet. This steep price for breakfast was ridiculous and did taint our stay, however overall the hotel was lovely and we felt very looked after Collapse
