This was our first visit to Key West. Upon our arrival we were greeted by enthusiastic staff, EJ checked us in and clearly went over all the amenities (use of the sister property, golf cart transport, WiFi, etc.) The concierge checked with us daily (personally and via text message) to make sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The staff from Barefoot Billy's took great care of us while we were at the pool/beach with towel service and umbrellas, they even clean your sunglasses if needed. There were always lounges/chairs available poolside and at the beach. The beach was amazing (one of the only natural sandy beaches on Key West). Our room was supposed to be a courtyard view, but we had a great view of the ocean too. While I agree with other reviewers that the rooms were a little dated and maybe not what one would expect from a Waldorf property, this was far outweighed by the overall experience which was fantastic. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The resort location was great as well, we felt somewhat secluded but still within walking distance of the action and the nightlife. I would definitely stay here again. Collapse
Rooms were dated but made up in service

Our family just spent several nights at The Reach. I can not say enough about how great the service was. The Barefoot Billies beachside were there to help and cater to your every need but never made you feel as though they were schlupping for tips. We definitely felt like we were part of an exclusive club while there. The rooms are a bit outdated but they were very clean. When we go on a vacation like this, we don’t plan on spending much time in our rooms so this was not an issue for us. We have had the benefit of visiting many very nice resorts but this one was tops in customer service and detail to making their guests feel special. Collapse
Everything I expected and more

We live a very busy and demanding life. We needed to get away to regroup. We decided to drive to the keys for the weekend. On the way down we found The Reach on trip advisor. Everything was absolutely perfect from the time we checked in until we checked out. The hotel staff was very helpfully and nice. We spent most of our time at the beach where David & Kip were located. They were very patient with our kids. They gave them beach toys, sunscreen, pool toys and goggles to use. They had fresh towels and chairs for us daily. They were great. Also i cant remember the lady at the outside bars name but she was very nice as well. We had Chinese food ordered in and and she made a table available for us to eat dinner together. Thank you The Reach and staff for a very memorable vacation. Collapse

We visited for 3 days, and felt they were a little over rated. The beach is great, but construction is going on. They told us we could go to their sister resort a couple door down. We had breakfast the first morning with was $18.95 for 2 eggs, potatoes, and 3 strips of bacon. We as well ordered 2 slices of toast, and coffee, which added $10 dollars more for each breakfast. Really? That move made breakfast $29.00 each. Needless to say we went down the street every morning after that for better breakfasts. You need to really pay attention while there. Parking your car, is $35 a day. You can accumulate quite the bill by small incidentals if you are not aware. Room were just ok, NOTHING special. Key West is a quaint community with a lot to do. Enjoy.... Collapse

This was our third time in Key West and the second time with our adult kids and some friends. The great service started with the valets upon arrival. Wes was very friendly and talkative, Dominick in particular took such good care of our entire group all week. We had our golf clubs shipped via Shipsticks and when Dominick heard our name at check in he chimed in and said I have your clubs in the back and I’ll take them up to your room. He even drove us over to the Casa Marina for coffee early one morning in the golf cart. Kip, the beach and pool attendant could not have been any more helpful or nicer. He was always right there with chairs, towels and some good conversation. The lady from the Ukraine in the gift shop was also very nice and very chatty while making coffee or whatever we needed. The other lady that was in the gift shop a couple of mornings was a little gruff and not as friendly. Spencers by the Sea is a very good restaurant. We had lunch there once and breakfast twice. Jill at the poolside bar also does a great job. She kept everyone happy and was constantly serving a guest or customer. You can also easily walk up Duval street or to Old Town and there are numerous restaurants, sports rental places, bars and coffee shops very close to the Reach. The Reach is a sister property to the Casa Marina, which we did not realize until the second day we were there. They should mention that at check in. The Casa Marina held a Luau our last night in Key West and it was a lot of fun. Our entire group really enjoyed the food, drink and fire dancers. They roasted a pig and had fresh Mahi Mahi, it was all very good. You can walk to the Casa Marina from the Reach in about 4-5 minutes. I did think that the Reach was showing it’s age a bit as the beach and pool chair cushions are all stretched out and torn and in need of replacement. Much of the molding around the columns on the outside of the building is also rotting and falling off. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back. Collapse
