Stayed 3nights at The Reach. The staff is top notch friendly and helpful. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds and little Expresso machine for a great afternoon perk. The grounds and pool are clean and pool staff provided excellent service. The Reach is on their small private section of the beach. The only Con was the beach needed raking due to seaweed. We stayed 3 nights on a weekend and beach was never groomed. A short walk to Duvall area. This is quiet hotel good for families, non smoking. Collapse

We expected Waldorf Astoria quality, and this hotel didn't deliver. While the grounds were beautiful, the rooms and hallways/walkways, which are somewhat outside, did not deliver the quality expected and were not as advertised. We reserved an Ocean View King Studio Suite, which was advertised as having a European-style glass panel shower and a dining table. The room had a maybe 4'x4' bathroom with a shower and tub combo- it was tiny. There was no dining table. When I called the front desk, they told me no rooms at the hotel have that type of bathroom. Very frustrating! Also, while we could see the ocean from our room, our balcony looked into the hotel next door and was above a dumpster a a side street. For what we paid for this room, I should've stayed at the sister property. Collapse

Booking this vacation with a travel agent, checking on the website viewing all the hotels photos, reading that the hotel had excellent service, was a beautiful resort and best lodging - I was looking forward to staying at the world renowned Waldorf Astoria Reach "resort" in Key West. Unfortunately that was not the case. Arriving in our room, we were met with a room far from what was depicted and promised. Next issue… The room was much smaller than what was depicted on the website and there was not enough clothing storage for 1 person let alone the 4 the room is supposed to hold, we had to live out of our suitcases. The room and rug was musty smelling, there were stains on the rug, there was mold growing behind the bathroom door, there were not enough wash cloths and bath towels for the amount of people that stayed in the room (3 people). Next issue…. Our toiletries were not replenished fully each day. We never received replacement hard soaps. I use what I brought with me. Next issue... Due to the location of our room we were made to use the service elevator which was dirty, smelly and we were constantly dripped on by the vents in the ceiling. Totally unacceptable. Next issue… Our cleaning woman, if you want to call her that, barely cleaned the room. Our rug was never swept, vacuumed, nothing that fell on the floor was picked up unless we did it. The bathroom floor was washed down once in a 5 day 6 night stay. Checking the countertop after several of her cleaning visits she never wiped them down either. I ended up wiping them down. One of her visits she left a waste basket bag of garbage behind and a bathtub with hair in it and on the floor. She clearly did nothing but make the beds and drop towels. We even had to request water and weren't even given enough for the people in the room. Next issue…. The beach had a lot of seaweed which was only cleaned up for the 2 weddings that were held. On a positive note, the staff in the hotel, the bar, restaurant, and the pool was extremely friendly and accommodating at all times. The frozen towels and popsicles were a pleasant addition on the very hot days. Unfortunately, at this time, I would not recommend or return to this resort if I had to put my hard earned money to it. Definitely not all what the "Resort" The Reach claims to be. Collapse
Terrible place! Waldorf?

I actually don't know where to begin. I could not believe this was a Waldorf Hilton. The rooms were tiny and around $300 a night. They screwed up on our reservation and we almost did not have a room for the last night that we were there. The bathroom was literally like the size of a phone booth! The holiday inn is a much nicer place. This place needs to be completely renovated. No spa . The only good thing was that there was a private beach. But the beach was not clean and full of seaweed. The staff was nice except for front desk manager. The restaurant staff was excellent. We had to keep our Clothing in our luggage. The closet was tiny and there were no dressers of any sort to unpack too. Overall, this place would be OK if it were a fraction of the price. Definitely should not be considered a Waldorf. Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn are still an upgrade from this place. If you want to stay at a real Waldorf you should stay at the Boca resort. If you don't mind roughing it for a few days then go there. Collapse
