An hotel I wouldn't stay a second time. Nevertheless it is in the best place of Barcelona, close to all the tourist sites, on the Rambla near the Gothic quarter. If you just use it to sleep, go ahead. The breakfast is quite good.

We stayed in this hotel in October 2016. This was a pre-cruise stay and for this purpose was suitable. The location has its good and bad points, good because you can walk to most attractions bad because if you have a front facing room you can hear late night revellers. Our party of 3 booked 2 rooms a single and a double. The single room faced inside the hotel with no view. The surprise was the double room 813 facing the front with a roof top terrace. What a view, it was amazing. Large private corner terrace, you could have a party up there the terrace is so big. The sliding patio door is only narrow, could be a challenge for larger guests. The terrace made up for any cons of the hotel. The room was clean, clean sheets, it had a very large safe which cost 2.5 euro per day and a small fridge. It also had free wifi with a good signal in the room. The breakfasts was also good with a choice of hot and cold food. Be street wise with your valuables like any other hotel. We did not have a problem. On the map the cruise port (Moll Adossat) is not that far however it is too far with suitcases, we hailed a large cab outside the hotel, cost was about 30 euros to the port I agree in general the hotel needs updating but for a short stay it was fine. I was expecting a lot worse having read other reviews, you do not spend that long in the room anyway. We ate around Placa Reial which is a few minutes walk across La Rambla and is full of atmosphere. Right on the Ramblas so if you want action you are there. The rooms are small and dingy. No real amenities to speak of and the front rooms are obviously very noisy. Some desk staff were excellent ( eg "Fabio") but others (eg "unnamed wanna be somewhere else woman") were unhelpful to the point of rudeness. At AUD262 for friday night and AUD165 midweek we thought this place was a bit over-the-top. And they want to charge another 2.50 euro per night for the room safe.Breakfast was poor to average. Not sure what they are using in the coffee machine but I'm confident it keeps the bugs away. Collapse
Good location and that's all ended.

We got internal room which has internal windows inside square pit. The windows in front of room visible, no white and air able curtain, only heavy ones, but room was stinky, they use old type industrial carpets Sponges dust. Because the humility high in Barcelona and in rainy day, the air in room was stink. The hotel use cheap cleaning as and hard smell of cleaners that it's stuffy. The manager change the room to other same type room. She refused offer other room. We arrived early and locked our laguage in a stinky room until afternoon and we were tired to argue. That's was a big mistake. Internet WiFi connection didn't work. Again the clerk went to check with lack of results. We ask the manager about the smell and she said there some problem with some alergics people that complain but every body happy and if I have elergic for something it's my concern to let them know before. Ops, I didn't know I'm elergic, it might be new elergic for some bad answers I believe. Now the WiFi start work connects hardly after few hours of trying although I called reception said that if it's IPhone, so there's a problem. I wonder what wrong with IPhone? Although my wife's I pad and my poor Samsung didn't work either , don't worry not the ones who blow in airplanes. Bed mattress was old and creaky. We couldn't sleep at night. It was horrible night. Rust in the bathroom floor. There is no even one Towel hanger and lack of functionality. Dosh bathroom faucet was old looks like my old grand moms 50'th style .one of the light in bath didn't work. The inside air conditioning above the bath or it water system made noise while using the bath, it might be the vent that works randomly . The Air condition didn't work, hotel says its mid season between summer and winter so only fan is working. So stay in stinky room, no vent, and open windows with no hide from outside watching windows and neighbors can be nice also? The night was so hot and humiliation so in couldn't sleep. So bad mattress with warm night, but My luck was the streets of Barcelona killed my feet so... TV set? So even this issue hotel didn't miss this part in order to miss again. The TV was regular TV box age look as 20 years approx. No channels and all was with distortion It sure took me back in to time tunnel. Breakfast-it was poor also. Nothing special to say. Accept some ragth cut tomatoes there were no vegetables. No fresh fruits, Small varios of serial all with sugar, one cheese, few sousage. In General it was just horrible. Sometimes people read reviews and hotel refer to complains, said that the guest had bad day and might exegerate, but this is not the case, I'm in perfect mood, so good that even this light review compare the real bad situation this hotel offers. I might say they have better rooms or side to offer? . But the rooms we saw in floor 4 was same. No more say, sorry it was long but it was necessary. Collapse
