Stayed for one night with breakfast. Checked in at 2:30, room was ready and reception was quick and easy. Had a room on ground floor. It had snowed the previous day but the entrance, which is uphill, was cleared so easy to get in and out of the car park. Room was small but warm and comfortable. Extra pillows in the wardrobe, iron and ironing board. There was a cold draught from the window, which is large and double glazed, but only about a 5mm gap between the glazing, which was not enough with all the snow outside. We had breakfast, which was a good selection, hot and cold, just what we needed with the exercise we had with the car getting stuck in the snow trying to get into the motorway. All the staff were very pleasant, and were out early shovelling the snow on the drive up to the car park. Collapse

There was this annoying tapping, leaking of water somewhere upstairs. When reported it (2.00 am) on the first day I was moved promptly to a room under which unfortunately got the exact same problem. I reported the problem at the receptionist the following day, before breakfast, but when I got back in the evening and asked if the problem was sorted out they did not even know there was a problem. After the 3rd time, I stopped reporting it, for obvious reasons. Results, over 3 nights I manage to sleep an average of 3 hours/night, likely less than 2 on the first night. It is a shame as the hotel looked well but the above completely ruined my experience. Collapse

I was super impressed with my stay at this hotel. The room and bed were great. very clean and comfy. The food was excellent and the service from the staff superb. The gym and pool were also very good - a robe would have nice to avoid walking around the hotel in a towel. My only gripe is that wifi should really be free in this day and age. Collapse

Business trip made this hotel an ideal choice as it was walking distance to the office I was visiting and the parking was free. The location is good as it's only a short walk to a nearby retail centre with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. On paper this hotel ticks all the boxes, gym, pool, wifi, buffet breakfast, what more could you want? Well, I'm glad I wasn't in any of the rooms on the corridor near to the miniscule pool, it stank of chlorine and could imagine that really irritating very quickly. The rooms are fairly tastefully decorated but the lighting is a slightly odd arrangement as I had kind of assumed I could turn the standing lamps off from the master switch by the bed...nope, Had to get up and turn each off in turn. Not a negative, just odd as most hotels (especially chains) have the switches hooked up to do that. Bed was a little too hard for my preferences and the thin pillows didn't help get a great nights sleep. Again, not a negative per se but it did affect my stay. Buffet breakfast was ok. I've had better, but I've certainly had worse and at this price point it did the job! Staff were friendly and courteous, presenting a professional front of house. One thing that did irk me particularly. The Ramada is not a budget hotel like a Travelodge, I would make it directly comparable to a chain like Premier Inn. So I was particularly surprised to find that the wi-fi in the hotel is not free. It really amazed me that it was a chargeable extra here. If I'm honest, the only thing this hotel has that the local Premier Inn doesn't is the pool/gym and the free parking. In all other respects I'd opt to save a few quid and stay there instead. Collapse

2 night stay to do some Christmas shopping, room small but warm, well equipped and comfy. Staff excellent and friendly. Breakfast worth the £10 each, but unusual not to have tea and coffee self service when food was?! Our room was opposite the gym entrance which meant squeaky doors and talking outside the door from early in the morning to late at night, but not a huge issue. Would stay again! Collapse
