Hotel was well kept for an older inn. We were comfortable in the room and fairly close to places we went. Only drawback was the couple above us were quite noisy for a good hour!!

Found the front desk people rude and unfriendly. They have no security cameras in the parking lot. I lost a new dress in a dress bag when I went down to pack my car. It totally disappeared!!! No one could find it so someone must have picked it up. The front desk could see in a picture of me going downstairs with the dress in hand but can't tell what happened after as there are no cameras??? The parking lot is open to anyone off the street and is only locked from 12 am to 6 am...so anyone could be in there. In fact, they have a message in the room saying lots of burglaries lately and to not leave expensive things in the car. Obviously, it is an issue. The guy at the front desk, have no idea their names as none of them introduced themselves. They promised they would let each shift person coming on to keep a look out. He also said to call back in two days. I did today and front desk had no idea he was to be looking for the 200 dollar brand new dress that disappeared. I was not impressed. I WOULD not stay again. We decided to take a weekend in Toronto and by the time we made the decision there were not a lot of options that were affordable and convenient. this one was located in the near heart of the city and was offering ample space for a very reasonable price. that is where our positive attitude ends. Check in was prompt and efficient. we arrived in the room (which was indeed quite large) and were greeted by a very stale smelling room. the shower (no bath) had hair and other signs of previous guests. there was crumpled paper on the floor behind one of the main beds. the paint was peeling in many location. the hair dryer was broken. there were what appeared to be coffee stains on the black out curtains. we called the front desk and were informed that housekeeping had gone home for the night but would return between 10 and 11 (on a sunday) the next day. the hotel was fully booked so there was no option to relocate us but they could offer us complimentary breakfast as recompense. we thanked them and i cleaned everything by hand myself. the next day we were away for the whole day and returned late in the evening to the distinct odor of marijuana and loud raucous noise. apparently guests several doors over were having a party and ignoring the no smoking policy. the police were called in to deal with the matter. the final morning of our stay we indulged in the gifted breakfast. we were told when we sat down that the offer was good for any of the first 3 items on the menu: 1 egg with bacon or sausage, 2 eggs with bacon or sausage, or 2 eggs with Canadian bacon. the other 10 or so items were not covered in the complimentary offer. when we explained that we don't eat pork and could we exchange the selection for anything else on the menu (since they are all the same price) we were told no. the waitress - who was the only positive interaction of our stay - slipped us some chopped fruit and juice. needless to say, as i mentioned in the title, never again. My second time staying here and once again I was very pleased. Location is very central and most amenities within reasonable walking distance. Rooms are comfortable, clean, bathrooms have been recently updated and are modern and nice. Parking is a bit pricey = $32 for overnight hotel guests. What I was most impressed with was the honesty of the housekeeping staff. I forgot a very important, very expensive item in my room and when I called about it the cleaning staff had handed it in to management and it was waiting for me to pick it up. So thankful for this!
