We are very happy with a recent stay (Dec 6-7) at the Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside. Thanks to the Expedia.com to offer the best rate on this hotel. The hotel is located at a good location, easy access to the river and street transportation. We enjoyed a free boat ride to a main public pier where you can connect to major attractions. The hotel staffs are polite and efficient. We arrived in early and asked if we were able to check-in a room, the front desk lady was very helpful and courteous handling our request perfectly. We are very happy with our room and nice views of the Chao Phraya River and the pool. We also had a nice time at the Hotel lounge for evening drinks and dessert. The hotel breakfast is an international buffet and enough variety of food for everyone. Our experience at the hotel was impressive. We stayed here once before nearly 12 years ago and the hotel still delivers a wonderful service. We will definitely stay at the Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside again. Collapse

We had a suite on the 12th floor. Good views of the city. Great location, it was right on the river. The hotels along this river, including the Ramada provided a free shuttle boat that came every 15 minutes. Bangkok traffic is as bad as New York so it takes forever to get anywhere by car, tuc tuc, etc. So it was easier to hop on the free hotel shuttle boats and get off and walk to where you wanted to go (or walk over to the Sky Train). Bangkok also has a boat ferry service for a small price but read up on how to catch them because the color flags tell you where they go to. The only problem we found with the local ferry was that most of the directional signs where written in Thai and faded so unless you knew where you wanted to go, it was a bit difficult. The suite was wonderful! The first room was quite large and held a built in bar with mini refrigerator, large office desk with wifi and lots of electrical outlets to hook up too, large seating area with couch, chairs and coffee table and flat screen TV. They also provided a delicious complementary bowl of fruit. My husband was able to get CNN and BCC on the TV and the free wifi worked really well throughout the suite. The second room was also large and contained two beds (larger than twins but smaller than a double - which is quite common through out Europe and Asia). Beds were very comfortable and adequate electrical outlets. Small desk and flat screen TV. There was a panel between the beds and above the side table that operated all the lights, etc - very handy. The third room was a large dressing room with safe, vanity, sinks, hairdryer, amenities, robes, slippers, wooden and padded hangers, etc. There was a door that led into an huge bathroom with larger soaker tubl (also with a retractable clothes lines (handy for wet swimsuits), toilet and large walk in shower. Water pressure and temperature was good. The breakfast room which a buffet breakfast was served (and they also had a buffet dinner) was nicely done with tables either outdoors overlooking the river or in-doors with glass walls that also overlooked the tables outside and river. For the first day or so we sat inside with the air conditioning until we acclimated to the heat and humidity and than we sat outside. Staff was friendly and efficient. The dining area was kept very clean and the variety of food was extensive, delicious and constantly being refreshed. One night, we met with friends who lived in Bangkok and had dinner at the hotel's 2nd floor Chinese Restaurant (sorry can't remember the name). There wasn't much signage advertising the restaurant but our friends knew where it was since they had eaten here numerous times before for business and other events. The restaurant was full of local Thai people. Reservations were NOT necessary. We were given a table overlooking the river. Food portions were good size, varied and delicious!! Service was impeccable, we had a dedicated server assigned specifically to our table to make sure that the dishes arrived in order, in a timely manner and to make sure that all our desires were met - very nice experience. We would stay here again Collapse

Very convenient location on the River with Ramada providing Ferry shuttle service every half hour to the main pier from where you can get other ferries to visit all main attractions located around chao Phraya river. From the main pier You can also catch subways and trains to other parts od Bangkok easily. Hotel has good breakfast choices so it is advisable to book a room that includes breakfast option. The property is very well kept with a nice pool to cool off. Hotel staff is helpful and provides reasonably good service. It is recommended to have a room at higher floor facing river view. We stayed here for 3 nights in October. Collapse
