Very good for the price!

I found a great deal on this hotel that included breakfast. Room was surprisingly spacious and I didn't even hear any aircraft. Staff were very friendly and the food was perfectly acceptable. The breakfast in the morning was very nice too.

I booked a double room for a night via booking.com. As a Genius member I was entitled to a 10% discount with a complimentary welcome drink upon my arrival. We were assigned a family room at the first floor instead as we were told the double rooms were occupied. Upon checking in, as a cash payer, do note that one would need to pay an additional GBP50 as a deposit on top of the room rate for the night. The room was spacious and functional with the in-room amenities consisting of coffee & tea, kettle, hair dryer, iron with ironing board and a basic flat screen tv. The bed was mediocre as it was very springy to the point that every time my husband moved whilst sleeping next to him, I moved with him leading to a disruptive sleep. Despite us having three pillows each that were so wafer thin, they hardly supported our heads and necks which again led to an uncomfortable night sleep. Upon arrival and after checking in, the front desk staff unfortunately failed to provide us with our welcome drinks. I had to get them physically from the lobby and bring them up to the room myself. The consolation for this was that the glass of merlot red wine and Stella Artois draught beer were fantastic which resulted in being the highlight of the stay. Collapse

Stayed for one night with my son to coincide with Wasps/Quins rugby match. Coincidentally, the Army v Navy match was taking place the next day and even by our arrival time at 4pm some of the spectators for this match on the next day were in full swing....I'm ex-military, recognise the social importance of A v N, and enjoyed overhearing the 'war stories' being exchanged in the bar. We returned from the Wasps/Quins match at about 10.30pm and got chatting to many A v N visitors...they were great company but this is sadly where our disappointment started. Offering to buy two of our new-found friends a drink I proceeded to the bar to be refused because I was 'too noisy' and there had been complaints....by this time I had been back at the hotel for about 10 mins. Only after being embarrassed in this way and after I pointed out others were being served was I told I could have a drink after all! I was then served the wrong drinks (this happens, and I accept that) but was invited to pay for the correction once I pointed out the error. I refused, and after some chatter between the bar staff my refusal was honoured. The next morning we proceeded to the restaurant and asked to be seated for breakfast...(reasonably) we were asked if we had paid for this - we genuinely did not know so stated this. The member of staff approached her line manager who raced over to us, berated us as we had not paid for breakfast (although we would happily have paid that morning), and was generally very rude and somewhat arrogant; I could not be sure but I think he was the same gentleman in the bar the night before. Anyway, we decided to leave without breakfast, collected our bags, handed in our key and left for the car park. The awkwardness however, had not ended...we then found that we were locked into the car park (I respected the security, but they knew we had a car as they had ensured we paid the fee the day before, so why not make a note in our record). I then returned to the Reception, asked to be released from the car park and had to wait for 15 mins whilst the padlock key was found....we were eventually released by the Receptionist AND the aforementioned gentleman who seemed to want to be everywhere!! Aside from this the facilities were acceptable and the rooms clean and comfortable....shame about (some of) the staff training! Collapse

We stayed overnight at the Ramada when visiting Twickenham for the rugby. The hotel is very nice, the rooms very clean and the reception staff very helpful. Twickenham is a half hour walk from the hotel, what more could we ask for.
