Arrived, told on reception that wi-fi code was***, got to room on 5th floor couldn't connect tried to call reception for help, but phone in room didn't work so couldnt call reception so had to go down to reception, they siad try this***, anyway in the end I ended up using my own phone to dial externally, in the end I had to take laptop down to reception. Food 1st might poor I had to send soup back as only warm. No hand towel in room. Next a.m. I wanted a drink, no tea, coffee or milk. AND NO HAIRDRYER. Again as phone not working so went to reception to get one. I was told it was in the drawer, which it wasn't. The girl in reception said the y would report phone. Meal 2nd night was quite good. On check out a different recptionist and again I commented on the phone not working and she commented that the phone's don't work very well on the 5th floor. SO WHY WOULD YOU PUT A SINGLE WOMAN ON THE 5TH FLOOR WITH NO COMMS IN ROOM?. The best part of the stay was breakfast where Jennifer the waitress as a credit to the staff. Another thing I was told I couldn't see the specials menus until the coach trip were dealt with. Collapse

I get that this is a budget hotel, but Premier Inn do it much better. On the plus side: * very friendly and courteous staff; * good location. Not so good points: * beds are terrible. Hadn't been made properly, and far too soft; * room floor was dirty; * as this is a budget hotel, it attracts the hen party / stag party crowd. Don't expect a quiet romantic experience if you're here at the weekend. Summing up, we can't really complain as we paid £51 for a night, but we won't be back. Collapse

We stayed for two nights in the Ramada as we travelled from Northern Ireland to a friends wedding, the food was okay, but hugely expensive and wasn't worth what we paid for it. The room was clean and tidy, again not worth what we paid and there was no bath, just a wet room which was disappointing as the photos we had seen had a bath in the room. Quite often we'd pass rooms and there would be leftovers sitting at the door from the night before. We'd come back and it'd still be sitting there. Staff were lovely up until we had to add credit to our account as we paid on arrival. We added £45 and it was taken from my husbands account, twice. No one explained to him there would be a holding fee so he was obviously not happy when he checked his bank and £90 had been deducted instead of £45. When he rang after our trip it took him ages to get someone, it then took even longer to get someone to sort it. It was also really noisy and there was the constant sounds of sirens all day and night. I didn't sleep a wink the first night and was ill from the food the second night, the bed was stiff and uncomfortable. Then to top it off as we were leaving the hotel to go home, a huge rat scurried across the car park. I work in the hotel industry myself and I've been debating for a few weeks whether or not to write this review, but I feel I have to as this is stuff that needs improved on. I have to be honest I won't be recommending the hotel, but I can't recommend Newcastle enough if you love old buildings, sight seeing and shopping. Collapse

Stayed here pre booked for us on a stag weekend organised event. Outside it looks kinda drab set in semi industrial area but inside it is clean bright and airy. Check in was quick and efficient, 9 of us and I managed to get a twin room to myself . The beds were not the most comfortable, very soft but the room was fine, nice walk in shower which was quite powerful. Despite being a stag weekend I made breakfast both days and it was great, plentiful and hot. We also had some bar snacks later and they were reasonably priced and reasonable quality. I can recommend the Mac cheese for about £6. Staff were busy but very friendly. My only complaint would be the draught lager, possibly the worst pint I've tasted so we had to drink the bottled beers lol. Five minute walk takes you over the millennium bridge and then there's plenty pubs and restaurants. Although there were several stag and hens booked in the hotel still seemed quiet at nights ( being the older of the group we were back at hotel earlier ) wasn't disrupted during the night either. Not the finest hotel I've stayed in but by no means the worst, Would I stay again? Probably. Collapse
