Have eaten here a few times recently and can not fault the food. I had the lasagne which was fabulous. Do not change a thing about it. My friend had the steak which tasted divine. My partner had the salmon which she loved. Only thing I would change is the Brie starter arrived on a small side plate which was a bit of a let down. If it was on a bigger plate it would look much more impressive considering the desserts are served on massive plates. Very impressed with the food and will be back. Prices are a bit on the high side for some items though I feel but overall it's a very impressive place to get food. Collapse

By the time we reached Athenry we were getting anxious to find a hotel. Luckily, this hotel had signs on the highway and all the way to it. It turned out to be a gem. A real change from the quaint places we had been staying. The rooms were nice and clean, the location lovely and it had a very nice restaurant. We were comfortable there and the staff was really helpful in giving us information about local sights to see. Collapse

The Raheen Woods hotel was recommended to us by a friend following our engagement so we said we'd add it to the list of possible venues. It turned out to be the first venue we visited in Galway when we started looking and to be honest every other venue we saw after that was not comparable. We got a lovely warm feeling about the place as soon as we arrived, the staff were lovely and so helpful. The building itself was bright and warm, the separate entrance for the wedding guests/party meant that the guests were all kept together and the whole function was private. Frances couldn't have been more helpful throughout the planning process, and towards the end she really helped to de-stress us. She gave great advice that related to the whole day not just the reception part. All the staff were extremely accommodating and were very helpful whenever we had any questions, they were very professional and friendly, this is something that was commented on by many of our guests. The food was delicious and we were delighted to hear our guests raving about the meal, they continue to compliment it even now two months later. There isn't one thing we can think of that we'd change about the venue, we had an amazing day in the Raheen Woods, thanks so much to all the staff there, you made the day very special to us. We celebrated our wedding in The Raheen Woods on August 5th 2016 and we can honestly say it exceeded every expectation and hope we had for our big day. The morning after our wedding we woke up and instantly agreed we wouldn't change a thing- especially the hotel! We had researched and visited lots of venues around Galway city and county and we then chose this hotel for the simple reason we felt our wedding really mattered to the team in the Raheen Woods. In the lead up to the day Lester and Frances were there to answer any and all queries and were just so pleasant to deal with. We were treated like royalty at our tasting and the food and wine were delicious as they were on the big day. Service was impeccable. Most of our guests were travelling from Cork and Tyrone and their comfort was a priority for us. We have since heard so many stories from guests of little thoughtful touches they experienced during their stay that illustrate how this hotels really cares about their guests- a bowl of cereal brought to a hungry teenager who missed breakfast time, food delivered to the bedroom of guests with an unsettled six week old baby during the drinks reception and no charge taken as a kindness- This is the type of service guests of the hotel receive- personal and genuine. We had lots of children attending but thanks to 'Kardio Kids' the play center in the hotel you would have thought it was a child-free wedding! All the children had an absolute ball and were so tired from the fun they were tucked up in bed early allowing the adults to party, which we did into the small hours! The day itself ran so smoothly thanks to Frances assisted by Oisin. There was no stress or getting flustered at any stage as Frances discreetly directed all proceedings in her own calm, unflappable way and always with a smile! When I dithered over making a speech Frances advised if I was nervous I could stay seated while I spoke and it worked like a charm and I was so grateful for her input. The private drinks reception area with the garden and outdoor seating was just lovely (a pet hate of mine is the guests scattering to the four winds around a venue and only reappearing for the meal) We arrived to our red carpet welcome to see all our guests having a wonderful time together. The Raheen Woods is all about personal attention, we never felt that ours was just another wedding as we did in some other venues. They care and it shows in everything they do. Collapse

We had our wedding here in The Raheen Woods Hotel and I'm so glad we did. We called in after getting engaged and we were so happy that we booked our wedding for a full year earlier than we had planned. Frances and Lester took excellent care of us in the 18 months of planning and of course on the day itself. They really know exactly what they are doing and it was great we could trust them with everything. They were always available whenever we needed them. On the day all the staff were great. They are so professional and all did an amazing job. The night porter David especially went above and beyond for us, we will always remember what he did for us. All of our guests had a great time and were very impressed with the food and drink. Overall it was just perfect and I would highly recommend to anyone. Even call in and have a chat with Frances, there is no doubt she'll make time for you Collapse
