4 of us had a long weekend at the Raddison. Our friends drove / ferried across, no parking problems, and we flew in, caught the bus from the airport for £2 each. Dropped us off a couple of hundred yards from the Hotel. Check in was well organised and polite. Overall the hotel and staff were great, clean, and quiet, with great facilities. The only downside of this hotel is the price of drinks will take your breath away. Collapse

Stayed here recently on Business in St Helier. Its' an excellent hotel, great location. Both reception and in hotel service was good and attentive. My room (Business Class), with a 'Harbour/Sea view' and was very comfortable, spacious and the bathroom was clean with good toiletries and decent W-Fi etc. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice and good quality. I can see the lure of this place given it's location as it's only a 5-10min walk to 'downtown' St Helier and for that reason and the service I would definitely recommend it. All the staff are friendly and helpful cannot fault anything about the Radisson Blu this time around. Collapse

Do you know what. This hotel looks great, is in a perfect position, free car park and really good rooms. Good food and friendly staff. Yet I’m only scoring it 2. So what went wrong. In one word RECEPTION. We had two rooms booked so we both checked in with different receptionist. Whilst my check in was not bad on its own when you compared it with my friend who had a female receptionist you could see the difference. My friend was given a glass of mulled wine and was given two die to roll - the idea is if you rolled a double 6 you won a prize. I was not offered either of these by the male receptionist and it was only when my friend bragged about what she had that I was offered it too. Not by the person looking after me but by the lady looking after my friend. Anyway I threw a double 6 and won 2 glasses of prosecco. I had the last laugh -or so I thought. The rooms as I say are really nice. Large comfortable beds and a fridge - no minibar unless you request it but the fridge is a nice touch. We were in business class rooms and had a view over the harbour - wonderful, really, really good view. Shower excellent and the whole room was spotless. The hotel offered a turn down service at about 1900 when the staff would also replace any water, tea or coffee you had used during the day. This would’ve have been really good except my room didn’t get its original cleaning until after 1600 so there was hardly a chance to use anything before the turn down. The duty manager said they cleaned rooms until 1700 - really? I’ve never stayed in a hotel that does that before. The tv in my friends room wouldn’t work so the male receptionist came to fix it. He couldn’t. He did offer to move my friend to another room but as she had unpacked she said it would be fine for the night. He did explain the TVs were being replaced and it may have been that that had caused the issue. So Thursday night we ate in the restaurant- there were only about 6 people in the restaurant. Food really nice and very friendly service. The meal was that nice we decided to eat there again on the Friday. So after getting changed we came down in the lift. The reception was full of people who had overflowed from the bar. The bar that was between the reception and the restaurant. We had to squeeze our way through only to find the restaurant was fully booked. Not by hotel guests but by a work Christmas party. I know hotels make their money at Christmas and that’s understandable but not at the expense of residents. Christmas parties are normally booked in function rooms not in the whole restaurant. It was even worse that nobody had thought to tell the residents! The same happened on the Saturday night. Sunday, the weather was not too good so I rung reception to book a table in the restaurant. The receptionist, Paulette (I may be wrong about the name) told me the restaurant was shut on Sundays but we could eat in the bar. I asked if it was expected to be busy and she replied yes as a couple of flights had been cancelled. So I asked to book a table. First she said I couldn’t as it was the bar and not the restaurant but when I said we had been unable to get at in the hotel on the last 2 nights she agreed to put me through to the bar to see if they would book a table. The phone didn’t get answered so she said she would go to the bar and call me back. An hour later, no call back and so I called reception again. Paulette wasn’t available and so the duty manager came on the phone and he said he would get her to ring me back in a few minutes. In the 15 minutes it took for the call to come through I found out that the tv in my friends room still hadn’t been fixed. When the phone rang it wasn’t Paulette it was the duty manager who said the table had been booked. I have to be honest I then went into a rant about why I hadn’t been told this and brought up all of the other issues: the tv not being fixed, not being able to get into the restaurant for two nights, no info in the rooms about breakfast times etc etc and for the first time ever in my life I said I expect some compensation for this. The duty manager then said you want compensation because you didn’t get called back straight away? He hadn’t listened to a word I said. I asked him if he thought it was acceptable that a tv that was reported on Thursday still hadn’t been fixed on Sunday and his answer was yes! I gave up To be fair to him though he did get the tv working whilst we went to watch the parade so it couldn’t have been that big a problem as we were only out about an hour. When we went for dinner in the bar that night the whole place was empty. Maybe 4 or 5 people in and do you know what they had no reservation for us. They said has it been booked in the restaurant. Yeah that’s right the restaurant was open - it did have a reduced menu though. No table booked there either!!! The meal that night was really nice and the waiter was really good, laughing and joking with us. Excellent The next day we checked out, paid the bill and left. Not only was there no compensation but later when I looked at the invoice- I had been charged for breakfast even though it was included in the room rate. Having said all that I really like this hotel and I would stay there again. I just wouldn’t have any time for the reception. They really did let this hotel down. I train people in customer Service for a living and I have to say the reception was appalling however the duty manager could’ve salvaged that - he didn’t. He didn’t listen, acknowledge, understand or relate to my issues. He didn’t even act on everything Note to management if you bother to comment on this please do answer each of my points and don’t put a stock answer as that will just make matters worse. Let’s see that you do care! Collapse

Everything is deep purple, well, not all, as there is plenty of grey shades and dark brown woodwork. This is overtly a business mans destination when coming to do business on the island, but we were here for a 6 day anniversary holiday. It has 190 bedrooms and is situated on the edge of the large marina The foyer is huge and attractively laid out with comfy arm chairs. Lined up are individual computer reception stations, each manned by a smiley and pleasant individual. Nothing is too much trouble, these guys are well trained. The rest of the downstairs areas that we went into, were the lounge/bar and the restaurant. Once again, masses of corporate colour and equipped with comfortable chairs and tables. I cannot praise the staff highly enough throughout our entire stay. They are a credit to the company. The star of the show food wise were the breakfasts. You want it? it was there on display and always fresh. Not there? ask and you got it and at £12.95 for as much as you can eat, was remarkable value. Wonderful. We had one evening meal in the restaurant and for me it was a disappointment. 'Nuveau cuisine' Not a lot of substance, excellent quality and very pretty, but I came away still hungry. Not good value I'm afraid. The bedrooms are large, spacious, very clean and had the largest and most comfortable bed I have slept in for many a year. The downside. The plain carpet was quite badly stained. It was probably the original one that was laid 10 years ago and is now due for changing. There was also a very large black crack in the wash basin which was a rather off putting. Room storage was tight for anyone staying for more than a week. All the add ons were there however. Things like a lockable fridge (not a bar) and a trouser press, to name just two. They were setting up a new TV system when we were there and we went from quite an extensive TV menu to not a lot for the last few days. Overall a first class experience. Would we return. Possibly, but Jersey has many good hotels. I can certainly recommend this one however Collapse
