We booked 2 twin rooms for a 2 night room only stay. Ate in restaurant on first night - menu choice small but good range of dishes - pasta, steak, burgers etc. We all enjoyed the burgers. You can sit in the bar area and order breakfast for a fraction of the price charged in restaurant. All front of house staff were really friendly. Only small issue was water and towels weren't replenished - after making reception aware they were sent to room within 30 mins. Overall, a great hotel in a fabulous location and would recommend. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance into centre and yet a quiet location by the river. Everything in room clean and professional. Reception staff particularly good and welcoming, and Ben handled a complaint with great pofessionalism to our satisfaction. Breakfast very good quality and range. Breakfast shift restaurant staff very good - particularly Novita, who we hope is highly appreciated by management. Swimming pool and gym area very good. Evening we ate in the restaurant (not breakfast, which was good) was terrible - over-priced pretentious, below-average fare; poorly trained staff. Unfortunately experienced a very loud, drunken, domestic dispute in early hours in room next door - don't go when there's a wedding on!! Expensive bar, yet even so, bar staff couldn't do cocktails! Tables in foyer regularly dirty, even after we watched, on one occasion, the cleaner cleaning them. Will stay again, maybe upgrade next time. Collapse
We didnt want to leave.

We Arrived here on a Saturday afternoon and managed to get a car parking space straight away. We checked in at 3pm. The trainee staff at reception were prompt and very helpful. Our room was ready and its fair to say we were more than impressed. We were upgraded to a superior with it being my boyfriends birthday. They left some muffins and a happy birthday sign which was a lovely touch. The room was spacious with a living room area. It was clean and had everything we needed. My boyfriend used the gym which he said was spacious and one of the best hotel gym he's been to. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and it was lovely and quiet. The food was quick and it did not disappoint. We slept fine and didn't here a sound which was good considering there was a wedding going on downstairs. Breakfast was fine and you had everything you needed. We also went to the Limehouse spa which was lovely and relaxing and the staff were great. Overall we didn't want to go home as we had a lovely stay. I would love to return. Collapse

Arrived at hotel at 3pm, I was aware that check in was from 2pm , however when I arrived the room wasn't ready so we received a complimentary drink until it was ready, which was a really nice touch. However when it got to 4pm I had to go and ask if my room was ready! I'm convinced they forgot we were sitting there waiting for a room, however it was a young trainee who booked us in but clearly forgot we were sat there waiting. The room was clean and tidy, and spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities and also an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. Lots of fresh towels and the usual shower supplies in case you forgot your own. We returned from a nice evening in Durham looking forward to a nice sleep, but we noticed then the bed was 2 singles pushed together! But we were so tired we didn't mind and just got in. I have to say they are the most uncomfortable, hard beds I have ever slept in and the pillows are wafer thin! You wake up from what sleep you have had to your leg or arm stuck down the middle of the bed! It was that uncomfortable we just got up at 6am and got dressed ready for breakfast. The breakfast however is sublime. Staff were lovely and theres plenty on offer I give the breakfast a 5 star. The hotel is in such a lovely location and to park your car £8 is nothing for the view you get. The only let down is the bed, can't fault the rest. Collapse
Fine, apart from the terrible loud music in the restaurant.

Nice rooms, pleasant staff, free wifi, nice food. However, gets only three stars from me due to the horribly loud music blaring away in the restaurant; there's no need for it! Also, guests have to pay for parking, which seems a bit of a rip off!
