I am extremely glad that we chose this hotel. You could not beat the location. Very central, bang in the middle of central Reykjavik, next door to tons of great restaurants, bars, shopping, flea market, walking distance to city hall, Hallgrimskirkja church, museums etc. The bus stop (where the tour buses pick you for sightseeing) is right outside. I had been considering other choices like the Hilton, the Grand, Raddison Saga - but this is the best location. Hotel itself itself is very clean and basic. Staff is very professional, friendly and courteous. Big shout out to Justyna at the front desk who was always very helpful in helping reschedule reservations and other recommendations. Our room was decent sized, not too small and bathrooms were clean. Free Wifi in the hotel and the rooms. Infact, there was free Wifi everywhere including the buses, restaurants, stores etc. We rarely had to use our cellular data while in Iceland. Our flight from NYC arrived early in the morning around 5 am and when we arrived at the hotel, it was full to capacity and guests hadn't checked out yet. Justyna ensured she had the housekeeping clean the first available room at the earliest as soon as a guest checked out of the hotel, and allowing us to get into our room by 9 am. I definitely recommend the Golden Circle tour and the Blue Lagoon. Please make your reservations for Blue Lagoon at least a week or two in advance. They have limited slots everyday. Also no need to rent towels or robes at the Blue Lagoon. Take your own from the hotel. You will enter the Blue Lagoon from heater indoors though a warm pool of water and then walk out into the open lagoon through the warm pool. You barely need the towel, unless you are drying and changing in the heated locker rooms. Also plenty of private stalls in the shower rooms for privacy (this when the lagoon was filled to capacity). Also I found out while there that every guest is limited to 3 beers while there. Your wrist band won't allow you to purchase more than 3. So no risk of anybody getting intoxicated. We took tours both with the Gray Line Tours and the Reykjavik Excursions. I found the Gray Line tour buses to be better and more comfortable, plus more friendly staff and guides. Besides the rates were slightly cheaper on Gray Line compared to Reykjavik Excursions. We could not see the Northern Lights due to cloudy weather. However Gray Line was very prompt in emailing us as well as posting the cancellation of the tour on their website everyday around 2 pm. We had to email them back to rebook us the next day and they confirmed shortly every time. Finally when the tour again got cancelled the night before we were to leave Iceland, we emailed them for a refund and our credit card was refunded with no problem. I do not recommend any of the museums downtown (Saga museum, Northern lights museum, volcano museum). We went to all and they are more like tourist traps. Not worth the money or time. Food everywhere is great but extremely expensive. You will have plenty of choices around the hotel. The hot dogs outside the hotel are quiet good and apparently also famous. One of the best Indian restaurants outside of NYC is "Austur-Indíafélagið" on Hverfisgata 56. Loved the food there. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families. Collapse

This hotel was included as part of a BA flight and accommodation package. It is centrally located and ideal for many trips and walk. One of the main pick up and drop off points is located directly outside the hotel. Great staff and clean comfortable environment. The room in comparison to other Radissons we have stayed in was comparatively small but comfortable and cleaned to a high standard. Quality of sleep was good from the bed comfort aspect. We did have concern when we arrived as immediately outside our room was a rest area consisting of a sofa an 4 easy chairs and table. On several occasions there were a group of residents sitting around laughing and chatting but thankfully this was early evening and did not cause too much disruption. The breakfast was good although the cooked buffet seemed to be the same everyday. That said I heard some guests asking for poached and fried eggs in preference to the scrambled on offer and this was provided. Loads of continental breads, cakes, fruits, preserves etc. to choose from. As much fresh coffee as you wanted. Hotel bar was comfortable with friendly service and a 3 hour 'happy hour' which took some of the pain out of the cost of alcohol in Iceland. I would stay here again if visiting Iceland. Collapse

We booked a business class room and it was very spacious, my one gripe was there was no heating the bathroom - which I didn't like. The breakfast had good variety and was plentiful. I would recommend. Collapse

When you arrive the front desk is indifferent or missing in action. No one to help with baggage, a problem when floor levels have 5-6 step stairs in their midst, with NO handrails. Bathrooms are the worst designed. NO counters for any stuff - you must leave your things in the chilly at night room, with no extra blankets or controls to raise temperature. Breakfast was okay, it was our tourgroup's base. This is a tourgroup hotel. Our room faced a courtyard with garbage at its base...charming? NO. Collapse
