Stayed for one night and although our stay was comfortable little but important things leave me questioning the 4 star rating. Access to bedroom was through dining room. Cob Webs in both the bathroom and breakfast room, Ironing board on display in bed room. Access to mirror whilst using hairdryer limited. Breakfast table not being cleared during courses. Staff allowing doors to slam whilst entering and exiting function room. Collapse

This is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in for a long while.(and we stay in many) they claim to have a 4 star rating- but not sure when this was AA reviewed.? The first room (suite) offered had a broken window-bordered up. then accepted a twin room, ventilation did not work, broken rail and carpet lifting. overall hotel was very dirty, grubby and very tired. Hotel and a wedding on (not advised beforehand) so nowhere to site in lounge to have lunch/drink and disco went on until midnight. Breakfast was a joke. no staff anywhere to show us to our seat, table not laid and basically it was help yourself.- no table service Warm / poor quality food, cold plates and warm coffee out of a flask. asked for fried egg, was told we dont have any! asked for cappuccino, was told only have coffee in corner. Not 4 star service or Hotel and think there target customers are wedding events. On checking out, was being charged for suite, when only had twin room-after a frank discussion the bill was changed. Asked for general manager and was told he doesn't work here anymore. Was given an apology and was told new owners are trying to sort things out. Well this hotel is one to be remembered , BUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS. There are other local hotels, with good reviews-suggest you look elsewhere. Collapse

Myself and partner choose Quorn country hotel as a night away for the 2 of us. over all we have a plessurable and welcoming stay. on arrival we were greeted at reception with a friendly face and a smile. Although the reception desk itself looked a little tired it did not put up off in any way. We were informed that this desk would be undergoing maintainance work in time. We decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was fantasic, we couldnt fault it in the slightly and i myself can be fussy with food. the room was a basic double room the was reserved and a for the money we paid including breakfast we both felt as though it was more than worth it. The room was clean and spacious in comparison to some hotels we have stayed in which only made out stay more comfortable the bed was comfortable too. the hotel itself was was clean and tidy and the staff were great nothing seemed to be too much trouble at any time of the day or night. we would definately stay here again. I celebrated my 40th birthday at the Quorn Country Hotel last month and was very disappointed. Having had our wedding here in 2015 I was really looking forward to the party but the standard was really poor in comparison. We paid a not insubstantial amount of money to have a barbecue, which we were really looking forward to - the menu promised burgers, sausages, chicken along with various vegetarian options, salads and breads. What we got was incredibly stingy! The chap doing the barbecue tried to cook as little as possible so that there was permanently a queue waiting for food to be ready and the vegetarian options were not to be seen with the exception of a bit of corn on the cob! Only when he realised that someone was vegetarian did he then go and get something from outside! Having paid £28.95 per head I expected everyone to be able to pick what they wanted. To make it worse no one checked on the night if everything was ok and so I emailed the hotel afterwards letting them know how disappointed I was. To date I have had no response apart from Julie acknowledging that my email had been forwarded to the general manager. Definitely would not book to come here again and couldn't honestly recommend this place to anyone. Collapse

Superbreak star ratings are given as a guide to help you choose between our hotels and do not necessarily relate to those awarded by other organisations.
They symbolise the level of service and range of facilities that you can expect at the property; ranging from 1 star - hotels with the simplest range of facilities, to five stars - luxury hotels with a wider range of facilities.
Please note that different countries have different standards and star ratings may differ according to the country where the hotel is located.
