Impressive large scale hotel just outside of Cascais. You can walk to the sea in about 30 minutes through the golf course, and the marina / down town is just a short taxi ride away. I don't recall their being any bars / restaurants in the immediate area. The room was a good size with a good size bathroom, and had a balcony overlooking the course. There are a number of rooms in the hotel, and villas. We had lunch on the first day at the onsite bar / restaurant, which was very nice if not expensive. Plenty of space and sun beds by pool. There's a lovely indoor pool / sauna / steam etc inside too. Breakfast was excellent- whilst it was buffet there was an excellent array of items and good quality. (Eggs, pastries, fruit, meats, cheeses, pancakes etc). It varied each day slightly which was nice. You can sit inside or out and waiting staff will bring you coffee. Alternatively there's a coffee machine as part of the breakfast buffet. Collapse

Unlike many who stay here we didn't play golf. However we managed to get a good deal for this class of hotel and weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and the service was pretty good. The meal service in the bar was a bit slow but they did apologize. Nice facilities although the gym is a joke - 4 or 5 pieces of equipment behind a glass wall is a pretty token effort. My wife took advantage of the treatment room and was pleased with the results. I'd stay here again if the price is right. Collapse

My wife and I chose the Hotel Quinta da Marinha as "our base" whle I competed in the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Cascais triathlon. I selected the hotel via the Ironman website as I had previous good experiences on other events when using the "official" event hotel. I have to say our experience at this hotel exceeded those we'd previously experienced mainly due to the hotel manager "Paulo" being a triathlete himself, and had a deep understanding of the potential needs of competitors and their families. The hotel provided a very peaceful environment for myself to relax both pre and post race and for my wife to enjoy the peaceful poolside area and beautiful vista provided by the surrounding golf course. Although the hotel was approximately 4k from the the stunning town centre of Cascais, there were ample free shuttles provided to transport us to and from town when required. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and were always on hand to offer help and advice when required. We ate at all 3 of the hotel restaurants, bar, buffet & a la carte. My wife has several food allergies and her dietary requirements were very well catered for, with the chef taking time to come out from the kitchen and take her through the menu, explaining "gluten free options". During the Ironman Event the event specific services provided by the hotel were second to none, catering for special diets, healthy options, bike mechanics, guided runs and tours of the bike route, specific event transfer service to name but a few. We found the room spacious, comfortable and very peaceful with a view of the golf course with a well stocked mini bar, should you need it. There is also a large range of international TV channels available on the room TV. I did use the hotel SPA for a post event massage which was excellent, the outdoor pool also provided inviting relaxing swim post event. There is also an indoor pool, steam room and sauna in which to relax. The hotel was very helpful in arranging a visit to the near by town of Sintra, a world hertitage site, which was stunning. We finished our visit by having dinner on our last evening at the hotel owned "Monte Mar" restaurant on the stunning coastline. The hotel provide a free shuttle to and from the restaurant. The best seafood I've ever eaten, stunning location and having dinner watching the sunset was a fantastic end to a great trip. In summary, great hotel, lovely staff, stunning area, we'll definitely be back. Collapse

I stayed at the hotel for over three weeks on two separate stays as we prepared to move from California to live in Portugal. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are great and the staff exceptional. They go out of their way in the most genuine fashion to help you. Maria and the team at the front desk were fantastic. Thank you Maria for being so kind to our family. Collapse
