Nice hotel with many upgrades. Room smelled a bit musty, but was clean. Hotel close to restaurants and shops. Not too far from Outlet Shopping. Breakfast was standard hot/cold. Eggs, but no meat option. Only 1 type of jam, no peanut butter.

This is your average Quality inn, with a decent location close to Universal (5-10min by car depending on traffic). Breakfast is the standard US fair, staff is very friendly, the rooms normal. When my airco did not work away the moist and stained the carpet, they immediately changed rooms, which turned out to be an upgrade. The room itself has all you need, including a fridge and hair dryer. The little shop sells sodas and water for very reasonable prices and there are plenty of restaurants close by, from fast food, IHOPs to the nice Carrabbas Collapse

Stayed at the Quality Inn on Windover Dr for an overnite stay while traveling. First time at this location. Very friendly and helpful front desk greeted us upon arrival. We got a very nice room that was updated. Furnishings looked fairly new. Bed was also very comfortable. Breakfast was the usual fair with waffles, eggs, cereal, fruit and toast available. I would not hesitate to stay for a few days if I were on vacation. Very comfortable property. Collapse

We stayed here because we wanted to go to,Universal StudiosmHalloween Horror Nights. We recommend that you take your car to park in the parking garage at Universal. This hotel says it has a shuttle, but it is limited to the morning and comes back in the afternoon. Not good for an evening event. So we asked the front desk if walking is an option. They stated it was a 20 minute walk. It is more that that and in the dark there is construction on the sidewalk near the beginning of Universal Drive. Also there was a chance of rain, and it did rain so be safe and take the car and park for $20. It is much better than walking and it is more than a mile, trust us. Breakfast was okay and the coffee was moderate not weak. We asked to have our room in the front away from the road traffic noise and slept well. The pool is in the back, with the traffic noise so it is noisy. Collapse

This review is for the Quality Inn at 5635 Windhover Drive, Orlando, FL. We flew to Orlando on Sept. 26th, 2017. We had a confirmed reservation at this Quality Inn Hotel. Originally we were to arrive at 11:20 PM, but we were able to hop on an earlier flight, arriving at about 8:30 PM. After collecting our bags and getting the rental car, we proceeded to the area near the hotel and had a bite to eat at a neighboring restaurant. My phone was on the table on vibrate. At one point I checked my phone and had a mysterious call from a New York, NY number. This is odd at this time of night. No message was left. I decided to call the number back, and after a few questions, found that the desk clerk at the hotel had called me from his personal cell number. He claimed that the call wouldn’t go through from his hotel phone. This was the beginning of the most bizarre and quite frankly confusing and unprofessional hotel situation I’ve ever found myself in. This desk clerk proceeded to tell me that because he had called me and I hadn’t answered, that our room had been cancelled. I said I had actually been scheduled to be in the air on a plane at that time. That’s why I reserved the room with a credit card. I asked who cancelled it, as I didn’t! He stuck to his story that he couldn’t reach me, so he finally admitted that he had actually cancelled the room. We went to the hotel after finishing eating, to find exactly the same situation… but not exactly. His story changed. He said that it was corporate policy that if they couldn’t confirm a room, that they were to book it with someone else. Evidently someone had visited the hotel looking for a room, and he went down the list and tried my number, couldn’t reach me, and cancelled our room. This is where it really got weird. He then changed his story again, saying that he had tried authorizing my credit card, and that it had been declined. I called bull-crap on this, as my bank notifies me of all charges, whether approved or declined. I checked my account and sure enough he had requested authorization for one night, and it had been approved. Keep in mind that I took a screen shot of the authorization. I showed it to him. I also called my bank and let him hear the most recent transactions on my phone. He said he was trying to get us a room at another hotel, but it would not be at the rate I had reserved the room for, with his hotel. So we’d have to pay more than the original reservation. In other words, he had an opportunity to sell our reserved room at a much higher price, and cancelled our room to do this. We caught him in two (2) lies, and then I said just come clean and tell me what’s happening here. He said that a guy came into the hotel and was willing to pay big bucks for a room, and I was the casualty. So I have to ask, is there a bonus plan in place for a front desk clerk at this hotel, when they sell rooms at a higher price, to where they disregard confirmed reservations? Is this the way you treat a 20+ year customer of Choice Hotels??? So I called the customer service line at Choice Hotels. Granted it was at 9:50 PM. To put it candidly, the people that they have employed later in the evening are only reservation clerks. They are not customer service people. The only thing they would do is find me a hotel room somewhere else, but it would be at the “going rate”, which was much higher due to hotel capacity issues that week in Orlando, FL. I asked for a customer service supervisor, and sat on hold for 25 minutes. My fiancé called from another phone, 10 minutes into my holding period, and asked for a supervisor. She was told that they all left at 10 PM. She asked why then was I still on hold on another line, with no one coming back to me. Crappy service is what that was… she was also told that the only thing they could do is to attempt to find another hotel at the “going rate”. Our previous reservation meant nothing. In the end we got another hotel room at a competing hotel, at a higher price. We were thoroughly SCREWED by this Quality Inn, with no viable help from the Choice Hotels Customer Service. In a nutshell I am a very dissatisfied customer. I would highly recommend you DO NOT ever reserve a room at this hotel. If you are in the area, stop by… they’ll probable rent you a room on the spot, and cancel another confirmed reservation! At the minimum someone should investigate this very shoddy business practice. This desk clerk appeared to be following direction from his management. If not, he should be dealt with, and potentially terminated. We did stay in Palm Bay, FL at a Quality Inn the following three (3) days, with good service and no shoddy practices. But we will not reserve a room in Orlando at this specific hotel again, and highly recommend you exhaust all other hotel options before doing so yourself. Collapse
