We booked this through Thomas Cook, but the photos on the website are very different to those in real life. The hotel overall was very good and me and my partner had a good holiday. The bar service was good and all the staff offer a very quick and easy service. The buffet food (if you're all inclusive) is okay if you like to eat pizza and chips all the time or very salty foods. Some days I struggled to find my 5 a day on the buffet but I made do with the salad on offer. When you arrive at the hotel, to access most rooms you have to walk through the entertainment/bar area which isn't great with suitcases. The hotel itself is good for families and couples without children, however some of the other people staying at the hotel were a bit loud and lots of bad language was used around the pool. For us being older we weren't too bothered, however I can imagine families with young children would be upset. It would have helped if more staff were located around the pool to prevent this rowdy behaviour. There are a lot of stairs! When we arrived we had originally been put into a room a couple of floors down, however the hotel moved us to a room 9 floors down and everyday climbed all those flights of stairs. You do seem to get a sea view from all rooms, however the lower down you are the view isn't so great. It would have been worth knowing the air con situation before we went. On the website it says rooms have a ceiling fan, however we had a standing fan which just blew the hot air around the room. Overall our holiday was a good one, and we weren't put off in any way. If I ever went away to Gran Canaria again though, I would book a different hotel. Collapse
Not as bad as the reviews make out

Just returned from an 11 night stay here, luckily I didn't read the reviews before otherwise I don't think I'd have wanted to go but we've had a brilliant time. We went with jet2 and for the price we paid i wasn't expecting a 5* room, although expected the ones like we're shown on the website but they wanted 40 euros a night for the upgraded rooms and there were none available so had what we had and that was that. There were 2 single beds in one room with a put me up bed at the side then had to use the sofa bed in the living area for the fourth bed which wasn't really ideal to let a child to sleep in there on their own. The rooms were rrally spacious as was the balcony which had 2 sun loungers and table and chairs. The balcony sliding door wouldn't lick so had to get a technician to fix it as didn't want the kids going out there alone. The rooms had no air con but by the time we came back from the pool and opened balcony it soon cooled down. The shower was abit temperamental going freezing then red hot. Had a fridge, hob and microwave in the room which was useful. Although bedrooms dated, did overhear someone saying the hotel was closing for a revamp though. Food.. breakfast was served till 10.30 and had a good selection including freshly done eggs and waffles. Never struggled to get a table for any meal. Always had dinner at the pool bar which was open till 5pm. Hot dogs, burgers, toasties, salad, fruit everyday. The evening meal was from 6.15pm and was the worst meal. There was always something though and the kids had a special area with chips, burgers, hot dogs etc. The pool was nice had a few different areas. There was a really shallow bit for the younger ones. Quite busy round the pool but we always managed to get a sun lounger. Found a real mix of people in the hotel from young groups of girls/lads, young couples to families and then older people too. The hotel is set on a hill so it took us 3 lifts to get to our room I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone that's not good on their feet. Really struggled to find our room bit once you get the hang of it we were fine. Receptionists really helpful. It was €3.50 down yo the bottom where the main strip is, abit far to walk really. Loads of restaurants bars and shops down there to choose from and they're all fighting for your custom. There's also the Europa centre pit of the reception and left straight up the hill. Abit quieter up here but easier to get to and in walking distance. We went here early September and it was really hot. Plenty of patrolss round the pool though to get some shade. I feel like I've made the hotel sound bad but it really isn't that bad we've had a brilliant time here. Collapse

Just came home on the 12th of september after a 2 week stay, if we had took any notice of the reviews then we wouldn't have gone here. AI was not too bad although the night menue was never what it would say it was, only ate here twice at night and food was always cold, breakfast was ok but again cold, We never used the resteraunt at lunch time, we always used the poolside snack bar which was ok. Large drinking mugs for beer was as scarce as rocking horse s**t as all the kids had them filled with fizzy drinks so grown men had to run around with little quarter pint plastic glasses. Sunbeds...well yep a mad rush for them but again nothing as bad as previouse reveiws made out but you did have to be up and about early to get a decent 1 where you could watch your kids from while they were in the pool, night time entertainments was hit and miss but we went out most nights anyway, cocktails are red hot and served from a vending machine and tasted very very weak, you had to add more spirits to get a taste to it, maid on our floor was really nice and helpfull, towels changed every day and sheets twice weekly, the only day's this wasn't done was friday and sunday's the maids day's off. All in all we had a great holiday as there was a large group of us both adults and children, this hotel has some upgraded rooms for which they wanted 40 euro per night, the normal rooms are clean but dated and needs air con, they do supply a fan but it circulates warm air, patio doors didn't lock, infact there was no lock in the door. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful, and one of the entertainers Louis ( chicken legs ) was the best of the bunch, he worked hard doing his job to as far as getting in the pool with us all while doing zumba, I would stay again but only once the upgrades were done in all rooms. The place is a maze of diffrent floors and numbered lifts and it takes a long time for folks to find their floors as the map given is worse tahn usless and it's hard to get the jist of which lift takes you where. When arriving at the hotel at 11am after travelling from 3am we then got told our room was not ready and had to wait 2 hours till we could rest. We had been shown the "junior suite" on the pictures when booking and were guaranteed air con. However this was not the case when we got into our room there was a little fan in the bedroom and the room looked nothing like the pictures we had been shown. We asked recpetion about this who advised we were booked for an apartment and asked us to speak to the rep. The rep was no help either but offered us air con for €100 for the week or an upgrade for €40 a night. We politely declined and have just made do with the little fan in the bedroom. The food has been the same all week, plenty of chips, pasta and salad with a small helping of meat each night. The breakfast was hot dogs and bacon, with hard beans and watery eggs. There was a chef cooking fried eggs and pancakes which was a nice change. I would not recommend this hotel, the kids and adult entertainment was not very well organised. We booked with thomas cook who had 4 or 5 reps/kids club on site but never seen them doing anything all week other than walking around with the bear in the morning at breakfast. The best part of our stay was the views and balcony which had 2 sun loungers for a bit of privacy and quiteness away from the main pool which was full of kids. Collapse

To start with I really dont no where these bad reviews have come from. I went with my boyfriend and we are in our 20's. What a fantastic hotel. It Was our first all inclusive and wow. Im a fussy eater but found something everynight. The chinese and mexican night were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and very clean, (we had a standard room) There was no mad rush for sunbeds in the mornings. Most days we stayed in the adult only area which was great for what we wanted with the jacuzzi looking over the sea. Evening entertainment was good. Weather was scorching hot. Met some great people. We will definitely stay here again. But next year the hotel is closed for a full refurbishment Collapse
