We stayed at the beginning of July for one week. The hotel is fantastic in almost every aspect: the physical environment is excellent, especially the shared and outdoor areas; service really was of the highest standard with a prompt and proactive attitude from all staff (without exception, in our experience) and clear forethought has been given to the guest experience; a fantastic buffet breakfast in a choice of venues together with some outstanding restaurant options. The kids club is really more of a discrete kids park nicely adjacent to the hotel and the childrens disco was well planned and enjoyable for little ones. Also, although at the centre of the hotel it is discretely located and unobtrusive. We visited with our young son, however if you are seeking to avoid children then the amount of pools, sheer size of the hotel and calm atmosphere mean that you would not necessarily be aware of the children's offer by the hotel if you were instead seeking peace and quiet or a couples holiday. Standards are high at this hotel and guests also reflect this in their own behaviour. The spa was also excellent. The location is great, just about equidistant between the Rubicon Marina and the centre of Playa Blanca, directly above the beach and opposite a supermarket. The pools are very large and there are plenty of sun loungers. As other guests have noted, there is indeed widespread reservation of loungers using towels and the 30-minute unattended towel temoval rule is not enforced. However, I am not sure that a luxury hotel can reasonably enforce such a rule as it would conflict with their total service offer, perhaps. We always found spare loungers and ultimately simply played the same game as others and reserved our own sets. I struggled to ascertain the layout of the standard suite before our visit and was worried the suite was open plan - it was not and I can state that the standard suite we stayed in had a hallway from which led a large seperate bedroom, large bathroom and finally a lounge with sofabed overlooking a private terrace. The only negative aspect we encountered was the absence of a self-service laundry combined with eye watering charges per item for serviced laundry. However, this was certainly the only criticism I could make so no major issue really. In conclusion, I would recommend this hotel in every aspect (but bring lots of clothes!). Really, a great hotel and experience. Collapse

I spent 6 nights in the Princess Yaiza with my family (my three children are not little!). The rooms we stayed in (sea view suites) were luxurious with stunning views. Beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms large. The amenities were excellent, plenty of restaurants in and outside the hotel to choose from. Only area of improvement would be to heat the pool water. The hotel is right on the main walkway along the coast making eating out so easy. Staff went out of their way to help in whatever we needed. Summary - excellent holiday thanks to this wonderful hotel. Collapse
In conclusion, we can say that the hotel is not 5 * worth mentioning at most 3 * / 4 * family hotel not 5 * L suite hote

Normally I will never write a piece on the Tripadvisor site when we have been on vacation. We have been around the world in always 5 star hotels because we consciously choose it. We were in July on holiday in Lanzarote in suite hotel Princesa yaiza. We booked a sea view suite. The hotel is beautiful on a lovely location near the beach. The entrance is overwhelming with friendly people. The suites are beautiful and spacious. But, what we never have experienced with a 5 * hotel is that it is a specific hotel for families with young children. The hotel is fully aimed for families with children. What surprised us, for example, was the setting of the pools, we had sunbeds at the freshwater pool because I like to swim. In this pool the little children with diapers were rinsed out in the water. What seemed very unpleasant and unhygienic to us. Small children their buttocks were rinsed under the showers or rinsed even worse in the pool. We also heard from a family with little children that we had to go to the saltwater bath because the freshwater bath was meant for families? Can this be done in a 5 * hotel? Apparently in Princesa yaiza. During the period we were in the hotel, the families of children, themselves, were very cozy (having grown children themselves) but it is better to create a well-facilitated swimming pool for these families. Some little children were given free time from their parents' in the hotel to run on their own minds, from 7 am to 23 pm, screaming in the rooms, hallways and restaurants. This was a completely new experience for us in a 5 * hotel. We also watched pillows from a sofa set in a suite of friends which were worn out and full of stains and dirth. The staff with suits in and around the restaurants. All over the day there were too less waitress in restaurants and too much staff with suits. This was reflected in breakfast restaurants (half filled) which were closed and a staff member in a suit told us that we had to eat in the other restaurants. Also a new experience in a 5 * hotel. The waitress worked very hard and were very kind in contrast to the staff in the suits .... I read some comments from Mr Luis Folgar, who proposed to visitors which make the same conclusion, to book double relax service, which allows you to use some facilities for adults only where not everyone is waiting for and what the choice in the hotel Makes very limited. It is also stated in the comments of the directors that they will personally ensure that the next visit is unforgettable, separate statement, why is not the common visit immediately unforgotten? In conclusion, we can say that the hotel is not 5 * worth mentioning at most 3 * / 4 * family hotel not 5 * L suite hotel. I understand that you can not make every customer a sense of purpose, but at this hotel, whole groups of customers (childless families) are expelled. You can make your own decision whether we will visit this hotel again. I worked for 20 years at management level at international and reputable hotels. Collapse

We just spent 11 days at the Princesa Yaiza hotel with friends on the recommendation of other friends who've been here four times previously. It's very difficult to recommend places as peoples views are subjective we all want different things from our holidays. Having said that I can't imagine anyone finding fault with this hotel. We all know 5* in Spain is not the same as the carribean but you get what you pay for and we were very pleasantly surprised. From the moment we arrived we were impressed, the lobby is outstanding but more importantly the staff are wonderful, they can't do enough for you, all of them throughout were really helpful and friendly from the managers to the cleaning staff it was so noticeable. We were offered refreshments whilst booking in, water to champagne and shown to our rooms. We had been upgraded to the relax suites and the rooms are enormous, plenty of cupboard space, I always have too many clothes and we didn't have to ask for more hangers! That's a first. We had a lounge area too which isn't necessary but was very nice and it had two sofas that would turn into beds so if you have children you want with you but not in your room it would be perfect. There is a kettle/tea/coffee a microwave and a fridge. They give you a complimentary bottle of water the first day and the fridge is stocked but obviously its minibar prices. There is however a supermarket right across the road or you can buy a large bottle of water in the shop in the lobby for €1. Robes and slippers and even bathroom scales so you see exactly how much weight you are gaining with all the great food. The bathroom had a bath and a shower the toiletries were by Rituals and were lovey. Being a girl I like my own shampoo and conditioner but hubby used it and I really liked the shower gel. When they come to turn the bed down (huge and comfy) in the evenings they will replenish anything and give you fresh towels if required. Room service menu was extensive and reasonable. Food in the hotel was an excellent quality. Breakfast had everything you could want including characters coming round for small children which was a nice touch. Most of the children were in the family block which we didn't even know was there until the second the second week the place is so huge. They have their own pool and restaurants, great idea for us oldies who like a bit of peace and quiet. As we were in a relax suite breakfast in the Isla de Lobos gourmet restaurant was available to us at no extra charge but its only €5 extra and its served to you instead of a buffet and its peaceful with a beautiful view. No kids allowed. The buffet restaurants in the evening again have everything you could ask for including freshly cooked steaks chops and all varieties of fish. There's an Italian a mexican and an international one but they are all very similar, to be fair there is so much its difficult to make them that different. They are €39 a head. There are two very large pools, the freshwater pool is heated so has any children and the sea water pool was very uncrowded and a pleasure to swim in. They also have some plastic sunbeams in the pool so you can lay out and keep cool at the same time. We never really wanted lunch after the huge breakfasts but there's a very nice poolside restaurant. We were happy with the ice cream shop which served very flavour imaginable and great coffee. In the evenings there is a piano bar and so many different areas to sit you can always find somewhere relaxing. The location is good. If you go out of the back of the hotel there's a beach and if you walk 15 mins in one direction you are at the Marina or the other takes you into the town. Both have a wide variety of restaurants and bars for all ages and tastes. All in all a lovely hotel and a great holiday. Collapse
