This is a hotel which gives an excellent first impression. The balcony however is a different story. No view whatsoever - obscured by two huge palm trees on both sides. This seems to be a recurring theme. If these were trimmed the room could be sold as a sea view as is was just about visible through the palm fronds. Disappointing as we spend a fair amount of time on the balcony. We went b & b and the breakfast was excellent. Don't be conned into paying the 5 euros extra for an adult only breakfast - the buffet breakfast is far superior. The pool areas are very good but find the tunnel (near the theatre) and go to the pool on the other side of the road - far superior and only 4 adults around it! On the whole a good hotel but not an indulgent escape as advertised by Jet 2. Went on a luxe collection to Cyprus with Jet 2 and this was far superior - fresh bottled water every day whereas the Princesa Yaiza provides only one bottled water on your first day. Had to ask twice for milk - 5 star you shouldn't have to ask for anything. Overall a good hotel but the balcony was a huge disappointment. Collapse

This was our fifth visit to this excellent hotel. We booked a Junior Suite Seaview room and were given a room on the sixth floor, B625, which was perfect with stunning sea views over to Futureventera and Los Lobos. We were initially given a similar room on the fourth floor but the seaview was blocked by a huge banana plant but after speaking to reception we were moved to B625. We stayed half board and eat in the main restaurant each night and as ever the choice of food was top notch with four choices of fish and four choices of meat each night , all cooked to order. There was also other choices available. The restaurant staff were all very efficient and friendly, especially Saray. Throughout the hotel all the staff spoke to us and all seemed happy in their work. As l said this was our fifth visit an won’t be our last. Collapse

We stayed here at the start of November 2017. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful and I get the impression they have all been encouraged to smile and interact with the guests which makes you feel valued. The hotel facilities are brilliant, everything outside feels so modern and clean. We ate at the tapas restaurant one night out on the terrace and it was lovely and our waitress was brilliant. Also the restaurant by the pools is lovely too. We were bed and breakfast and have to say the breakfast buffet is excellent and there is something for everyone, we were really impressed. Hotel location is excellent and we walked frequently to both the town and the marina with ease and didn’t have one bad meal the whole time we were here (or bad wine!) The hotel is in some places a little dated, in the breakfast room we ate in some of the curtains were starting to look worn and threadbare and the room was at odds with the glistening newness of the exterior of the hotel. I also feel the rooms could do with being refurbished, nothing major but in our room there were some details that had been over looked, particularly in the bathroom, one of the tiles was cracked above the vanity, the walk in shower was extremely slippery when you stepped in and some of the chrome fittings were falling off and needing to be replaced. Also we had a slight issue with there being a lot of mildew on the silicone around the base of the shower, I complained about this and was offered another room but that had the same problem so we decided to stay. To their credit the staff really attempted to clean it once it was drawn to their attention, mbut it was at the point where it needed to be replaced. A minor problem but a bugbear of mine as I never allow even a speck of mildew near my own showers at home! Despite this small issue we would recommend the hotel and if we were looking to visit Lanzarote in the future would stay here again no hesitation! Collapse
Lousy, gloomy 'upgraded' room, birds on the breakfast, and dreadful entertainment.

With these reviews, I believe in reporting fairly, but honestly. You speak as you find, and our first impressions as we walked in were very good. The hotel is very grand and elegant. The pool areas were fine and over-all it came up to 4-star standards, although it was rated 5 star. We get fooled over-and-over again in paying for more 'stars' than we need because the fives, and some of the four-stars get their ratings because of the extras, massages, scuba diving and gyms and hot-and-cold running chamber-maids etc. which are rarely used. The Yaisa has the lot - if that is, you want to use it. Then came the rub! We arrived with our friends, with a promise, by Sovereign, the tour operator, of a free upgrade to a 'superior' room. Superior it might have been by way of square footage but totally inferior by way of light, air, noise, view - just gloom! Yes it was a suite, and very nice too, but the bedroom had a 'balcony' looking via a thick trellis onto the main staircase inside the hotel, with all the noise from the 'entertainment' (more later) and passers by rising from below. At the other end of the 'flat' was a lounge with a TV to watch, just as well, because the balcony was unusable. It overlooked the trunk of a palm-tree about 6-feet away, beyond which was a stone wall, topped with a bank of black volcanic ash about 10 feet away, above which was a hedge, through which there was a good view of the car park. What's more, although on the 'third' floor, our room was below car park level. Just the place for a relaxing pre-dinner drink! Our friends' view was even worse, their balcony was directly overlooked by the people getting into their cars with no hedge in between, and the local cat slept on their balcony chairs. There were some suspect bites on our friend's arm. Fleas? The hotel's response to our 'whinge' was that there were no other rooms available apart from a 2-bedroom family room. Not 'superior' at any price. One surprise was that Sovereign, a supposedly up-market operator, doesn't even have a rep in Lanzarote, so there was no one to have a word on our behalf. The next bit of unwanted 'life' was the birds. One of the several restaurants is open to the outside and had been netted to keep out unwanted visitors. But they did get in, and as mentioned in a previous review, sparrows were feeding on the bread counter! Now for the entertainment - oh dear - dreadful! On our first night we went to see Mama Mia. Why the 'animation' teams at many hotels cannot read the customers interests and cater for them appropriately is beyond me. This 'show' was mainly mimed to a 'backing track' played at excruciatingly high volume, so much so, most audience, including us, had left by half-way through the show. Most days were like this, that's why the 'show' room was perhaps 10% full. The lobby bar piano music was great however and ideal for chatting over a G&T. The restaurant fare was fine, what you would expect from buffets in good hotels, lots of choice, themed nights and generally good service. The 'hot' food and plates were 'cold' sometimes, and we wasted some meals because of it. So all-in-all a very mixed bag. Would I go back? It would have to be a very good deal with a guarantee of a high room, NOT in block C, and to to compensate for the very steep drinks charges. To cap it all, I've just looked at my credit card statement and found that they stuck a crafty extra bill on my credit card without me even knowing. Collapse

Our purpose was to spend a relaxing week. The Hotel ist perfect for families - we where as a couple travelling and did not expect so much families in this time. Service quality and the kindness of stuff was excellent. We would prefer special in high season a adult only hotel. We choose the hotel also because of the Thalasso and SPA Center and the great location. Best rooms for couples i would recommand Junior Suites with Sea view on 6th level. Great view and quit area. The rooms with gardenview we would not recommand. Pool or Seaview in higher floors. Perfect for families would be the building on the other side of the street. A nice property with good quality. Kind stuff also at the hairdresser! All in all it was a relaxing week before getting back into the winterseason... Collapse
