Just arrived back from a week at the Poseidon resort we stopped in the smaller hotel (not the poseidon palace) we arrived about midnight and were the only ones to check in we had missed our meal but they did give us bags with bottles of water bread rolls and small tins of tuna which we thought was good. We got a safe deposit box €17 for the week but you get €6 back when you give the key back. They unlock the sunbed at 9am if you leave it until 9.30 they have all been taken and you will be luck to get one before 5pm lots are just reserved with towels then left for hours with no one on them. The restaurant was ok always something to eat but not the best quality we skipped breakfast a few times due to this, the continental was good all hams cheese eggs croissants pastrys etc cooked fried eggs some days scrambled the others but I would avoid the bacon its 95% fat 5% meat and covered in oil. I would stop at this hotel again due to its good location about 5 minutes one way to the very lively Benidorm strip with all its fun pubs karaoke bars strip bars etc or 5 minutes in the other direction to Benidorm old town with its narrow street's and tapas bars. Breakfast was 8.00am until 10.30am evening meal was 8pm until 10.30pm a bit late if you have small children with you I think lunch was 12.00 until 3.30pm not 100% as we were half board and didn't have lunch, you will need the paper restaurant slip when you enter the restaurant. Lots of people saying the staff were rude I didn't find that all I spoke to were very polite especially the reception staff. Collapse

The hotel caters for Spaniards, they hardly understood anything me or my partner were saying, from the Information desk, to the bar, to the restaurant.. they didn't even speak much English in the kids club. They only cater for the Spanish, even though we were all inclusive, the food was awful and did not really cater for children, My 8 year old had pasta and sauce nearly every night because the selection was extremely poor, we ended up eating out afterwards which is ridiculous considering we paid for an 'all Inclusive holiday!'. The entertainment on a night was crap. Most of the staff are rude. The Life Guard was the highlight of the hotel, lovely, polite and a joker! A very basic hotel, pools were nice, hotel is in a good location. We will not be going back to this hotel, DO NOT BOOK ALL INCLUSIVE WITH THIS HOTEL. Collapse

I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Poseidon, I stayed with my sister and 4 kids, 8,13,14, 16! On arrival check in was really quick and we were given our rooms straight away, reception staff were lovely as we're most of the staff here. The rooms are small and probably a little dated but that aside they are clean and have all you need, fresh towels and bedding daily. The hotel itself is pretty much the same, A little dated but clean so I have no complaints there. Food was good and we eat there most days, loads of choice but as with any all Inc it does get a little repetitive, It's definitely not the worst food I've eaten from an all Inc holiday! Snacks round the pool however are limited and I do think a little more choice is needed, It's either cheese and ham toastie or hotdog on all Inc anything else you have to pay for. Drinks are fine and didn't have to que too long although the bar staff are a little slow at times. The pool itself is great, plenty of loungers but YOU DO have to get up early to get one, the rule of no reserving sunbeds clearly doesn't work. The main downfall of this hotel is the entertainment, at best it's poor. During the day they do have music on but turn it off around 1pm and I'm not sure why, my advice is were on holiday we don't want to sit there in silence, leave the music on!!! Night times we just went out because mainly i couldn't understand a word the entertainers were saying or singing! It didn't ruin the holiday though as there's plenty to do outside of the hotel. It's a 10 min walk to the main strip in the new town and a 10 min walk to the beach so great location. One last thing they need to change is the key card/all inclusive card they give you, it'd be alot easier with kids to have a wrist band rather than having to carry a card round all day and it constantly deactivates so you have to go back to reception before theyl serve you, That's annoying and unnecessary. If those small things were improved I'd have no problem returning to this hotel, all in all a great holiday. Collapse

We are on holiday here at present and must say the revues are spot on very much catering for the Spanish holiday makers and the other nationalities over looked, the food is ok but not much choice if like us you have under fives there is nothing for there palate having not been brought up on garlic or spicy sauces, tonight was Asian night we had to go out to eat as to be blunt it was rank. As for the rooms basic and clean no English speaking channels on the TV or radio option lifts are a joke as you can spend 15 mins for one then most are full or people won't let you in, entertainment is laughable as all in Spanish and very poor, unless you're on a budget and wish to have all inclusive holidays we opt for half board so as not to be stuck to the hotel and thank goodness we did, beach is good sea clean so I would look for a better hotel catering for a more British holidaymaker as a base and spend the day on the beach. Bad start to our holiday had to wait 3 hours in the scorching heat before our room was ready and found the staff very ignorant and selfish, saying what In our faces as they could barley speak English all the staff in the hotel the same English was not good! The rooms were okay and got clean towels everyday, could do with decorating though, the pool area was busy and full of children so we used the 2nd pool which was smaller and more quieter but that's just to our taste, no problem finding a sun bed as there was plenty, the food however was good! Always a variety to choose from! Fantastic location and the weather was beautiful! A very Spanish hotel! Okay if your not looking for luxury and just want a basic holiday. Collapse
