We booked for a two night visit prior to travelling to the Algarve. The staff upgraded our room without us asking and made us very welcome from the moment we arrived. We rebooked for our return to Lisbon and the second visit exceeded the first. The location could not be better if you plan on site seeing. All the city bus tours are on your door step with many great restaurants within a few minutes walk. Some of the reviews commented on noise but once you close your shutters it will be fine even for light sleepers. The rooms have everything you would expect from a great hotel. Collapse

The pros are comfortable hotel on centre of Lisbon, just on historic centre so you just need to go out and you're there, outstanding service from most hotel personnel, good rooms renewed and with style. Decent breakfast buffet. Very comfortable bed. Loved the bath stuff from Rituals brand. The cons are you have to choose between noise or bad view when selecting a room, there's no gym, the place for breakfast is rather small and some seats might not be comfortable for all people as they're too close to the wall, the only place outside for having something is small terrace for smokers, would be nice have a view to the street while having breakfast, price can be a bit high for what's being offered in the end. Courtesy bottle of water just the first day, and coffe/tea chargeable on room. Collapse

The location of this hotel is excellent as it is within walking distance to the key sights and also near the Tram 28 pick up point. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance as well. Was given the 2nd floor. Although there is no view, the room itself is very clean and comes with a comfortable bed, rain shower and basic amenities including hair drawer, etc. Breakfast spread though simple is good enough to provide the necessary energy to start off the day. The service staff by the name of Luis was always cheerful and made an effort to remember what tea I ordered even the next day. Was really happy with his service which was excellent. Collapse

We had a really pleasant couple of nights here and it was an ideal location from which to go and explore Lisbon. The staff were really pleasant and helpful answering all our questions and looking after us generally. The only thing I could say on the downside was the rumble of the Metro trains passing underneath, but there's nothing the hotel can do about that and it really didn't intrude on our enjoyment. We arrived at the hotel and we were greeted by the amazing front of house staff. We were early for our check in, so we left our luggage and after some helpful local attraction tips we went off for the day. On our arrival back at the hotel, we enquired about getting an upgrade and we were told that they had already arranged this for us! The room did not disappoint, please take a look at the photos. The room had the usual international news channels but you can pay for movies if you wish. Our room had two balconies and a big window in the bathroom. Although the view was of a building site, there were also views of the terrace but in all honesty, everything that we wanted to see we saw whilst we were out. Btw, we were in room 215. There were robes, slippers, good quality pillows and an umbrella that you can use during your stay. We did find it amusing that there was a price list for most items in the room, so if you see something and you like it, you need to pay. There was plenty of storage, a safe, tea and coffee making facilities but you have to pay for them €1.50 and there was a well stocked mini bar. Breakfast was good with selections of cold meats, cheeses, pastries and cakes. There were hot selections of bacon, eggs, mini sausages, mushrooms and various varieties of breads and juices. Breakfast was served from 7-11, so no need to get up early! The room was cleaned immaculately daily and the Rituals products, restocked as needed. The bar served a wide selection of drinks, food and hot drinks which were accompanied with delicious mini pastries or cakes. The staff, every single member was fantastic! Great tips for sightseeing, restaurants and football news! So our stay included Valentine's Day, when we arrived back in the evening, there were chocolates, confetti and a rose on our bed. What a lovely surprise! We stayed at similar rated hotel over the same period last year in Madrid and did not receive these treats. The wonderful reception staff organised our transfer back to the airport, which was €8 each. Worth paying if you just want to relax en route to the airport. The hotel is centrally located to a lot of the attractions and the number 28 and 12 trams start behind the hotel. Rossio Metro station is at the bottom of the road, so you can use this as an alternative form of travel. I mentioned the trams, other travellers have complained about the noise and vibration and you do noticed it at first but you get used to it. If you are a very light sleeper you may find it challenging to sleep here. However, you are staying in a prime location and it is a small price to pay for a city centre location. Summary of this hotel, rooms first class, staff amazing would definitely recommend and return here in the future. Thank you to all of the staff for their professionalism, friendliness and making our first visit to Portugal memorable. Collapse
