We've just returned from a week's stay, second week in October. We stayed here last year also at the same time. Family of 4, aged 2 and 8. The weather was mixed (unlike last year) so we were thankful we were staying in this hotel which meant that we could please ourselves going in and out of the park. That's the main selling-point of this hotel without a doubt, really convenient. Reception also sell discounted express passes for the park, €61 each for the week, as opposed to €48 for the day if you're not staying in the hotel. It's definitely not a salubrious hotel, the rooms could probably do with a bit of a refurb, I would say it's "adequate" but we were there for the park so all that was required. Perhaps they'll upgrade it when the new Ferrarri Land opens next door in April? Breakfast was reasonable, it varied between two buffet restaurants depending on how busy it was. Quite a good choice of food, coffee and tea. I do wonder why hotels persist in providing juice machines that churn out concentrated, sugar-loaded "fruit juice"? Surely in a country like Spain they could squeeze a few oranges?? We only "experienced" the buffet at dinner once. It was like feeding time at the zoo with a limited choice. We chose to use the dine-around option which is offered. Technically you can use any of the restaurants in the park or at the other hotels (drinks are also included up to the value of your vouchers) - I say technically because at this time of year most of them are closed. We were able to eat in the Mexican in the park (which we booked in advance on the park website) on the Saturday night and all other nights were in the Italian in the hotel. This was much more civilised and table service too (and not too busy). You need to make a reservation by 6pm each evening and collect your vouchers from Guest Services to the left of Reception. There's a small café in the hotel, Café Saula, which sells a limited selection of snacks and coffees and drinks. A bottle of beer was €2.80, glass of wine €2.50, soft drink the same and small cava €6.50. This is the bar in the hotel when you return from the park or through the day until another bar opens beside the Italian at 7pm. Because the weather wasn't great on a couple of days, we took a day trip to Barcelona. The Port Aventura station is within walking distance of the hotel (ask at Guest Services) and they will also print you a timetable, €8.80 each way per person and takes just over an hour. All in all, you would only consider staying here if your main intention is to go in and out of the park. It needs a little bit of TLC and investment but did the job. Collapse

I booked direct via the website on a special deal expecting a small room with access to the park. Instead I got a spacious twin room with double king size beds. The room was clean, except for a few small stains on the wall. There was a small balcony you could stand on, but not enough room to sit out (other rooms have larger balconies) The buffet breakfast included in the stay has a great range to choose from both hot and cold. It was always topped up so never cold. I had paid for half board as I wanted to enjoy the park as much a possible on a three night stay. Again there was plenty of choice and food was always hot. I'm leaving this 5 star review as I was stressing about what I would be able to eat being vegan. I downloaded a vegan passport from the vegan society app to inform staff of my dietary requirements in Spanish as well as pictures if that were to fail. I went as half board so had breakfast and evening meal. For breakfast I chose my own food from the buffet on site such as toast, beans and tomatoes and fruit. For lunch time I either went to the cafe on the hotel site, cafes in Salou or a restaurant in the theme park. I'd say only twice did I have to have a generic salad! This 5 star review goes out to Chef Jose Torres who worked on the hotel site. The first evening I arrived for my evening meal on site I handed my vegan passport over to the member of staff who seated us. She took my vegan passport and was happy to help and called over the translator who came with the Chef. They made me feel so comfortable discussing what I was happy to eat and did not make me feel like I was being awkward or like I was making it more work for the Chef. They asked me how long I was staying and I told them a week. They told me what they could do for me and wow I was so impressed! The presentation was amazing which just made me feel so thought about and I knew a lot of effort clearly went into every meal. I had roasted vegetables with cracker toast, cous cous and salad, salads, pasta, vegan sausages, vegan burger and fries! The salads included various fruit, I have never enjoyed eating salad back home but it made me realise salads can be fun haha! I have taken back some ideas! Every night the Chef would be waiting for me to come in and have food ready as soon as possible bringing it over especially to me! I have never felt more comfortable ordering food in Spain than back home in Wales and doubt I would receive the same service back home! I was always asked if I wanted more food. On the last night I tried my best to get across how thankful I was for everything he did for me and he gave me cracker toast to take home! :) and wafers to the rest of my group! Shoutout to the translator guy as well thank you for your help! I am so grateful for these two! I looked forward to food every evening and it took the stress away so I was able to enjoy my time here! As for lunch time I did have to find my own food, I did struggle once in the cafe on site but Chef Jose came to my rescue which was a lovely surprise and presented me with one of the gorgeous salads :) if you are reading this....thanks again so much! :) and thanks to all the staff in the buffet restaurant! We stayed here for a week from the 25th September. Check in was easy enough, although they don't take you to your room with your luggage like any other hotel we've stayed at. Room was very basic. Mould in bathroom, even mouldy marks on the ceilings. Tv only Spanish, no English speaking programmes we could find. Wifi was great though, worked all around the hotel. The fridge in the room was useless and with three children I was disappointed. A card needs to be in for the fridge to work and you can't leave a card in as you need them for the park. Pools very cold but plenty of life guards. Buffet had a great selection. Not much I liked at dinner but lots of choice for a non fussy eater, breakfast was much better for me. The staff only spoke very basic English which we found to be frustrating at times. Lovely cafe which sold milkshakes croissants etc..but very expensive. Kids entertainment at night all in Spanish so was pointless going, couldn't understand a word of it. Face painting and balloons at night. Dinner was from 7-10.30 which we found to be quite late. Having to choose a time for breakfast was a pain but we were lucky to be there when it wasn't busy so they weren't as strict with times. Fantastic having an entrance to the park a stones throw away. Park itself was fantastic but we missed the Saturday fireworks as our girls were tired. Our 4 year old wasn't tall enough for a lot of the rides so will definitely take her back next year or the year after. All in all I'd stay again but I think for the money the holiday cost us, it needs spruced up a lot! Just seems a bit outdated. Collapse
