Positives: - Conveniently close to Venezia Mestre station, 10 min journey to Venezia St Lucia. Train was €1.25 one way. Bus tickets can be bought from local newsagents or cafes but train seems more convenient. Bought bus tickets from train, but seemed like an effort for bus driver from his response. - Small buffet breakfast * included coffee, juices, cereals, yoghurt, fruits, eggs, bacon, sausages, breads, cheeses, deli hams & pastries (chocolate croissants were a favourite) etc. Negatives - Walls seem thin, evident with noise particularly when hearing neighbours walking (more apparent due to wooden floors). Consistently woken up everyday around 4-5am in morning with loud neighbours. - Bed was sunken in, mattress either needed to be turned over or a new one brought in to our room - Decor was old wooden style with white walls that made the place seem bland and cold Collapse

Just traveled recently to Venice and stayed at the plaza hotel. This was my third time at this hotel. I was with a friend and shared a room together. At first they gave us a tiny room which is their standard room. Although perfect for single traveller but small for a couple. Therefore we requested what other types of rooms they had. So we upgraded to their executive rooms. These rooms are absolutely fantastic. Spacious in every way. The bathroom was also very large. The room was well equipped with many power points and also there was the smart tv in the room. Another thing I love with this hotel is the convenience. It's right opposite to the Mestre station. Perfect if you need to travel to any other major cities. Breakfast is perfect with many wonderful delights and varieties. Collapse
Lovely hotel and the rate was good for the time period.

Stayed here on December 1st. Nothing to complain about. My room was a double single use and very spacious. Large bathroom with a large bathtub! I would say great accomodations. My only complaint is the breakfast. It was a breakfast catering to the European community which is fine but we Americans LOVE pancakes! I would have liked to see more Italian pastries. I arrived for the breakfast at 9am and there was very little left. I guess beginning at 6am would be the reason...? I ended up at the Soul Kitchen and bought my breakfast. However, I loved my stay and would recommend this hotel located directly in front of the Mestre train station. Excellent position and quality hotel. Collapse

we stayed for 5 nights in the old wing which was yet very comfy and modern. The hotel has a great restaurant/coffee shop on its ground floor.the coffee shop is open till midnight. the cost of a cup of coffee is EUR 1.50.Breakfast was quite good too. The hotel is 50m off Mestre train station which leads you nearly everywhere in Italy and the same distance off the bus station which takes you for EUR 1.50 to Venice city in around 12 minutes There is a good Chinese restaurant about 100m and a great supermarket about 400m. We were welcomed by Mr. Mattaias who went an extra mile in helping us anytime,a really great service. to be honest the rest of the staff were great too. Would definitely return to this hotel. First impressions of the hotel were great, when pulling up to the hotel it is really eye catching how fresh and modern the interior was. We arrived quite early but were more than comfortable relaxing in the sitting area and grabbing some lunch from the Soul kitchen which is adjoined to the hotel. Unfortunately our room wasn't to our taste at all, we booked a superior room and whilst the size was good it was incredibly basic and bland. Due to it being mine and my boyfriends anniversary I decided to immediately pay for an upgrade to a deluxe room. Reception organised for somebody to show us a new room, which was perfect. Although when we went down to get a new key from reception, the lady who dealt with us was very abrupt and rude in her tone. I work in hospitality and know that a room move is not that much of an inconvenience (especially if the guests are paying to upgrade!!). Our new room was exactly what we'd hoped for and the bathroom was gorgeous! The bath itself was huge and was a great way to warm up after our day trips to chilly Venice. The location of the hotel is amazing, right opposite the train station meaning you're only 10 mins and 1,25€ away from being in Venice. It is also in walking distance of amenities in Mestre such as a supermarket and lots of cafes & gelato bars. Overall this is a great hotel and very good value for money, all staff (except one) that we encountered where friendly and a real asset to the organisation. My one tip would be to get to breakfast early though, the food goes quite quickly, although when it is topped up it's not of great quality. Unfortunately both times at breakfast we experienced under cooked sausages and overly greasy bacon, however the continental, cereal and fruit options were much more appetizing. Collapse
