Upon arriving, we were greeted by a fantastic Valet and Bell service that made checking-in worry free. They took care of parking our car as well as delivering our groceries and luggage to the room. Special mention to Tom R. in Valet for all his great help. At check in, Chris and the front desk staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. They made sure our needs were taken care of. The 8th floor multi-room suites were equipped with full kitchen/dining/living area with large TV and beautiful West view of the Gulf and Sanibel Island off the spacious balcony. There was a large accommodating bathroom with shower and large bathtub. The bedroom was spacious with TV and large closet. There was a great view to the east of Matanzas Pass Waterway and San Carlos Island. We benefited by the 2 heated pools for adults. 1 large general swimming pool and one for lap swimming. There was also a spacious kiddie pool. We took full advantage of the Aquagene Spa we had Pedicures, Manicures, and Swedish Massage. The staff at Aquagene Spa was accommodating, helpful, and hospitable. Maria A. made the Massage Therapy wonderful and relaxing. Odalis and Kristina took very good care of our Hand and Feet Therapies. I especially enjoyed the Paraffin soak for my feet. Laurie helped to make sure we had everything we needed for a grand encounter. The resort dining was delightful with “Jack’s” for breakfast. There is an ample Breakfast buffet which always included fresh fruits, Eggs, Bacon, and Sausage, as well as other breakfast items. John, the chef, will make up “to order” Omelets, Eggs-any way, and Waffles as he entertains you with his fluid cooking and witty comments. Jacks also serves Lunch and Dinner. I recommend the “Farm to Fork” 3 COURSE Dinner. We enjoyed an ideal Happy Hour everyday by the pool at Bongo’s Bar and grill with ½ off drinks. They make a great Pizza as well and great hamburgers and fries. The Chicken Caesar Salad was the best. The Pink Shell Resort was wonderful experience at a great price. It will be our Fort Myer Beach destination for future years to come. Collapse

Vince was available to show us around the park near the resort. What an informative t hour that was. Vince pointed out different birds, trees, turtles and even sea shells. A highlight of our stay. The hotel has a hawk in residence during the winter.

My sister and I arrived at the Pink Shell Resort and was greeted by "Merita" the desk clerk. It was very nice to start off our vacation meeting someone so friendly and helpful. To start off with our room was delightful overlooking the gulf. It was in need of some TLC though. The towel rack in the bathroom was unusable because it was hanging on the wall by only a thread. It was brought to our attention that it had been reported many times over the year, but it has not been fixed. It was not a big deal to us. We did not request any maid service, but "Lizzie" was always friendly and attended to our needs. The breakfast buffet was awesome along with all the servers, but I must say "Raymond" is the one I remember most. Our complaint my sister and I have are all about the hostesses. There are 2 ways to enter the dining area and we arrived from the outside stairs. Nobody told us how breakfast worked and we saw the plates and people at the buffet so we joined in. When we could not find the silverware, the server informed us to see the hostess. And that is when things went a little sour. The hostesses were hidden behind the line of people waiting for eggs and waffles. When we approached them, they were rude stating that we were to see them first before we got our food. We were told to go stand in the corner until they could get to us. So they we were, standing in the corner with our food getting cold. They refused us having silverware and continued to wait on people coming in after us (but the people were doing it the correct way). We felt like we were being punished. We did finally get a table with silverware and enjoyed our breakfast. The next morning we knew the proper way of going to breakfast, but we were still greeted rudely by two other hostesses. By this time we are thinking that the hostesses are just plain unfriendly. The third morning, we got a "smile and a good morning" from the hostess. Being surprised and pleased, I informed her she was the first hostess that we encountered with a "good morning and a smile". To our shock, Jill informed us that she was the General Manager and so we explained our story. Hopefully she has talked with the hostesses about their lousy attitudes, although we did not let this ruin our time. We know it is not easy dealing with the public. We do it in our jobs too. But a smile and a greeting go a long way in making someones day including yours. So, this is how I would of handled that first morning when my sister and I did not know the "rules" for breakfast. "That's ok, I am sorry nobody told you how to go about getting breakfast here at the resort. Let me get you some silverware and a place to sit before your food gets cold, then I can explain how it works around here. Everybody's happy!! On a side note: The "boys" working at the Holiday Water Sports in front of the Pink Shell were fantastic. They contributed to making the vacation fun! Very helpful!! Collapse
