My wife and I choose to come here every year on our anniversary. This is based on our experiences at other beach hotels in Southwest Florida, including the Ritz in Naples. For the price, location, view, amenities, and service by the staff, nothing else comes close! You will not be disappointed and all other getaways will be compared to your experiences here. As their slogan states: Nothing is overlooked but the beach! Collapse

My fiance and I stayed at Pink Shell for a week. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The beach and pool are nice. The food for breakfast and at Bongo's bar was awesome! The only downfall we had was our room. The Sanibel View rooms definitely need a makeover. It didn't bother us that much since we were at the beach or pool mostly. It is also a very kid friendly resort. So for a couple looking to relax, there were kids everywhere. Collapse

My new husband and I picked The Pink Shell after researching many resorts in Florida. It turned out to be an awesome choice! The staff is VERY friendly and they really seem to love their job. They have a private beach with FREE paddle boarding (my favorite), kayaks, and you can rent jet skis. They even have drink service to the beach! There are like 4 swimming pools- some that are more quiet and private than others. All have big soft chairs to lounge in. There's a ton for kids to do! We didn't bring our son (honeymoon) but we do plan on brining him next time. They even have kid activities you can sign your kids up for. The free breakfast buffet (it really is free) is awesome. It's not your typical free buffet- they have a chef that makes omelets to order and waffles. Plus a ton of other yummy food! The hotel is at the end of the island so you don't get a lot of traffic and tourists. There's a trollee stop right outside the hotel ($.75). Or you can walk into town! It's that close. We took Uber a few times and it was only about $6. If you do go into town, Pierside has the best service and food- I ate the stuffed shrimp and it was to die for! Rodney is the concierge at the front desk and he is very knowledgable. He really wants you to have a great time! He helped us book a cruise to Key West and gave us tips on what to do there. He even got us a discount on the cruise tickets! It is a little pricey- but you have to do it- it's so worth it to do a day trip down to Key West. Next time I want to book a dolphin/shelling trip- you can charter a boat and go hunt for sea shells! Deep sea fishing is also on my list. There is so much to do! You can come here to do nothing and lay on the beach, or to stay busy and active every day! Overall, this resort is spectacular. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and plenty of activities! My biggest tip would be to request the main building- the rooms are newer and nicer in there. We were in the older building that is in need of remodeling- but it wasn't that bad- still worth the money and we still felt like we had a nice, clean room. We will return for sure!!! Collapse

We have stayed at this property in the past and had a great time, however this time was bad. If you stay there don't ever stay in The Sanibel View building, old, dirty, no pressure in the shower, I could hardly wash the shampoo out of my hair and I don't even have a lot. The water in the shower and bathroom sink would drain after about five minutes. The furniture in the room was dirty and damaged. When I spoke to the manager and stated the conditions all he said was"I am very sorry", "if you would have told us when you first checked in we could have upgraded you for $50", wow more money for upgrade to a room that was not close to what they were charging. Instead maybe he could have offered to take some money off my bill of $345 for the one night. Never again. Collapse

We stayed at the resort for 3 nights, 2 adults, 3 teens. The room was spacious. 2 beds were in a separate room and a pull out couch was in the living area, which included a kitchenette. The youngest (14yo) slept on the pullout and said it was fine. The only complaint we had about the room is the shower had clear doors and to use the sink or get to the separate toilet, you had to walk past anyone in the shower. We ended up putting up a flat sheet so we could use the shower and get ready at the same time. There was a great view of the water from the room. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, which included an omelet station and waffle station. We enjoyed trying paddle boards, which were included in the resort fees. The pool area was nice, as was the lazy river. There were an oversized connect 4 game and checkers, as well as bags (corn hole). We had friends come visit for the day and they gave they guest passes to do everything. I was very impressed with that. Overall, we had a great stay here and would definitely return here. Collapse
