Loved this hotel So much! It is in a beautiful location extremely central to the town. The staff are really friendly and happy to help and ensure you have a great stay. Pool area has amazing comfy beds but they do get taken very quickly by peoples towels. Only few issues worth mentioning was the staff struggled to understand the half board concept and they only had 1 menu available for a weeks stay which got a little repetitive. The service for our evening meal was extremely slow as a lot of the time only 1 member of staff was in the restaurant. Also a few members of staff did not know how to make the cocktails they advertised. Also this hotel definitely not suitable for people with walking difficulties as it is set on a huge steep hill. Overall I still would jump at the chance to stay here again and really enjoyed my stay. Thank you Hotel Pharos! Collapse

Had a fantastic experience in this hotel from start to finish. On arrival we were checked in promptly and led to our room by a member of staff. The room was clean and was finished to a high standard. The best aspect of the room would have to be the bed. Travelling around Croatia I slept on some questionable mattresses however this was not the case at Pharos, with extremely comfortable sleeps awaiting me every evening. One negative about the room would have to be that the walls could be a little thicker, noise did not pose a problem for the majority of the trip however on the first night we were subjected to a heated argument in the adjoining room, later followed by sounds which I could only assume meant the couple had forgiven each other. The buffet breakfast was a treat every morning through our stay and was useful in dragging us out of bed as well as setting us up for the day ahead! We also had both lunch and dinner in the hotel where food and service was at a very high standard and i would certainly recommend it (also quite competitively priced compared to other eateries in Hvar). The hotel only became expensive when it came to drinks, with prices above average for beer (which i think was around 38 HRK/£4.50 for a 0.5l glass) and other beverages. While it was nice to spend a day around the pool (making frequent trips to the pool side bar!), this was a significant expense, especially when considering there is no in-room fridge to store drinks bought from outside the hotel. While the staff at the pool bar were nice and attentive I would recommend to the management that drink prices at the pool should be decreased slightly as this would have encouraged me to purchase more than I did and spend more time around the pool. While at the hotel we noticed that it caters for a wide range of clientele from young adults to couples and families. While some may be put off by 'lads holidays' occurring, I would say that the atmosphere throughout the hotel always felt welcoming to all and there was no rowdy behaviour to be concerned about. Overall, this hotel was fantastic and we did not want to leave! Some in the comments have mentioned the steepness of the hill leading up to the hotel, however, while this can be an irritation after a long evening in the town, even the most unfit person could manage the walk and it would not put me off returning. I even believe that the hotel staff collects luggage from the harbour and transports it to the hotel in order to avoid inconvenience. I would definitely return to both Hvar and this hotel on a future trip to Croatia and only wish I could go back already! Collapse

A very modern hotel catering to a mixed clientele but very comfortable. Excellent breakfast selection, the room was comfortable with a shady balcony with views of the sea. Very reasonably priced given the location

It's hard to describe this place. It's very big and has a high school in a good nieghborhood feel about it. The hallways especially feel institutional with color blocked signs. There are pop culture tiles in the bathrooms along with funky designed rooms that are smaller than usual but here are balconies. At night the common area is very brightly lit which makes hanging out there uninviting even though it faces the pool with the sea behind the trees. It has no local flavor which is a shame considering it's location. But the beds are comfortable and the TV works well. Breakfast is generous even if it's in the "high school cafeteria". You can take it outside as well which is much more pleasant. Collapse
Lovely and clean, but also quite noisy.

The positives: The breakfast was of good quality with plenty of choice, although slightly chaotic in organisation. The design and layout of the rooms were modern and clean. The pool area was lovely with plenty of seating throughout the day. The negatives: This is where the hotel was a real let down- the walls and doors are paper-thin. Unfortunately when the 'lads' come back from a night out in the town you have no choice but to be part of their verbal abuse towards each other and shout like a bunch of excited school-children. The door alone has a 2cm gap underneath which does not stop any noise. Of the four nights spent here, we were woken up several times every single night. I guess it seems to attract that kind of clientele. Collapse
