We're a couple in the mid-twenties and have been to Pharos Hotel in September. It was not too crowded, as it was already low season. The breakfast was awesome, really really awesome! Hash browns, pancakes, french toast, a lot of nutella, great choice of cheese, joghurt, cereals and all seemed very fit&healthy. They seem to be sourcing as local as possible. The pool area is amazing and the sunbeds are extremely large and comfy. There was no service at the pool bar, though. The outdoor gym was not more than a good joke. But I had a nice run around the area, the staff recommended a nice route. The location is perfect, not too far from the center of hvar and also only 10 minutes stroll to the diving base of viking divers. The music on the pool was not too noisey and when you close the balcony door, it's quiet enough to take a nap. There were fresh apples in the lounge all day. Food à la carte in the restaurant is good average. I recommend that you let the staff pick you up at the port, the stairs with luggage after a long trip may be a bad start into your vacation. Though they are manageable if you're fit and your luggage is not too heavy. I would definitely go there again! Also, we got a free update to a sea view room :) Collapse

We stayed for 4 nights and found this hotel to be very clean ,well kept with all the staff generally helpful. At this time of year there was always plenty sunbeds in the afternoon but the pool was pretty cold compared to the nearby sea. For us as a mature couple the hotel is modern / trendy but the breakfast was good quality with plenty of selection. We had a superior room with pool view which was excellent re cleanliness ,size and comfort and the shower was large with plenty of room for a duet ? There is no evening entertainment at the hotel and the bar closed at 11.pm but it is only a 10 minute downhill walk to nearest bars/ restaurants ,the walk back is uphill but we oldies managed it ok ...stopping for a 10 minute view of the town! . The only negative for us was the pool music which although not loud was the same tape every day with music from 4pm rapping type and louder and foul mouthed ,no doubt to suit younger guests but we found it offensive and we reported this back to the hotel. We arrived via the Split catamaran ferry service , if you have luggage best get a taxi to the hotel even though it is just a 15minute walk , it is at the top of the hill on the opposite side of the port , which is ideal for visiting the town and walking alongside the seashore pathways in either direction . Beaches are rock/ concrete or pebble type , closest ,with sunbeds to hire are to the right looking seawards but there is a pleasant safe pebble beach ideal for families at the far side of the town opposite the hotel. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Hvar. Collapse

I got to Hvar from Split in ferry, little did I know that I would have to go through 10,000 stairs and uphill carrying a 30kg bag to get to the hotel. The hotel overall is nice, had some issues with a waitress of the restaurant who was pretty rude, there was no elevator to get to the room which was pretty annoying too, and the cleaning of the room could improve (hairs under the piece of furniture in the bathroom). The room was spacious, had a good view, the pool is nice, and the rest of the staff was really friendly. Included breakfast was okay. Collapse

This hotel is newly renovated so the rooms are all new. The layout is really nice and they have a DJ by the pool at night. The only complaint I have is that since the hotel sits on a hill off the main road and area of Hvar, one has to walk up a few stairs and a long hill to get to the hotel which is a struggle when it is hot outside and you have heavy luggage to carry. It would be nice if some of the hotel workers were at the beginning of the steps and offer help with luggage etc. I was alone when checking out so I had to manage bringing all of my luggage down to the main road on my own and the hotel staff did not offer any help even though they knew I was alone and was going to catch my boat ride to Split.
