From the outside Peterstone Court Hotel could be considered imposing and it fits into its impressive mountain backdrop with ease. But it’s a different, informal picture on the inside where things really start to happen. Chic and distinctive in its style, Peterstone remains loyal to its Georgian heritage, but compliments the old, with a relaxed style, funky details and modern touches.
If you look forward with anticipation to a few well earned moments away, then it’s essential that you get a room with the space to more than ‘swing a cat in’. All the rooms are super spacious, relaxing and designed with comfort and luxury in mind. With just eight rooms inside the main house all are large, light and airy spaces, you could quite simply get lost in. All the rooms are gorgeous, but the difference between ‘Good, Better and Best’ rooms is based on size and views. The annexed stables have been converted into four duplex loft rooms, possibly bigger than most London flats and ideal for guests with dogs. All rooms have fabulously comfy beds, flat screen TV’s, DVD players, tea/coffee-makers with homemade cookies delivered daily. Robes, slippers, gorgeous Myddfai toiletries.
Many visitors to Peterstone Court come for the food and the glorious setting, so we want to make sure you are suitably well fed and watered on your stay. The Conservatory Restaurant and cosy bar are open every day for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

We arrived at peterstone court this afternoon to be greeted in the reception area by a lovely lady and a gentlemen, who straightaway showed us to our table. Once seated we were given a few minutes to browse through the drinks list, before a member of staff came over to take our drinks order, all of this was done very quickly as driving for an hour we were quite parched. We then gave our food orders after our drinks were delivered to our table. We had the mothers day menu the starters were out of this world i had soup. And the others had prawn cocktail and a goats cheese tart all of us enjoyed it very much. Moving on to the main course we were served by paul and trevor who could not have been more helpful i had the beef as most of us did but my mum had the pork, which she throughly enjoyed we did ask for more gravy, and they were happy to get it for us. Desserts well we were far to full for dessert but we had one anyway and it was amazing, the chocolate torte and the apple pie was just as delicious. After lunch we had our tea and coffee, and then went and enjoyed a walk along the river on return, paul and trevor were in the reception and asked us if they could get us anything. All the staff were fantastic but these two are the only names i could remember from our fantastic experience at peterstone. Definitely will recommend to my clients and will certainly be returning . The hotel is set in an extremely beautiful country location and has employed a team comprising of very attentive staff. My wife and I will certainly consider booking a stay here again in the future. Very good food.

We stayed Saturday night and were looking forward to this night away . We arrived to discover the room was ready but had to carry our cases up to our room ! It was fairly busy Saturday lunchtime so as we were staying on the rate with dinner bed and breakfast we decided just a sandwich for lunch . It was all rather hectic the lounge area which looked vey nice but was full with a party of ladies from the spa who were sitting in their robes and slippers ! One would have thought another room would have been provided for the spa guests . Sandwiches and chips ( I must say the best chips for a long time ) were nice although when requesting vinegar a 10 min wait before it arrived only then to be told they only had one vinegar bottle and could we use it and give it back ! The room we had was nice , views across the fields with large ceilings . Dinner was booked at 7.30 and we sat in the lounge for drinks, menus were offered but no wine list ! The dinner was enjoyable as was the wine , a good nights sleep and we were ready for breakfast ! We came down at 9 as did a number of others, the continental display was poor no yogurts ,muesli not available and limited jams etc . We however ordered a full Welsh and pancakes . 45 minutes later we were still waiting having mentioned it to several waitresses who were pleasant and working hard to appease customers !eventually 50minutes after ordering it arrived ,the Welsh breakfast was nice however the pancakes were under cooked and frankly inedible! A real disappointment! Eventually we left the dining room at 10.30 ! On check out I mentioned the experience and as a gesture the receptionist did take a discount off the bill . Overall for what this hotel is trying to portray work is needed on a more professional approach , more staff to ensure there is a calmer atmosphere in the hotel ! 5 stars def not . Collapse

We enjoyed four days here and the staff were lovely. We enjoyed a room upgrade, and found the food locally sourced and beautifully cooked. Generous portions meant we never managed a third course! We enjoyed the spa, which is free for guests, and a relaxing 'hot stones' massage. An old (1741) building so not 'urban chic'; rather it was splendidly comfortable and full of character. Yes, we will definitely be going again. They have dog-friendly rooms in an imaginatively converted stable-block. Collapse
