We had taken off from LHR on our trip home to the US but after an hour in the air, the plane had problems and we turned around and went back to London. British Airways provided bus, hotel, and food vouchers and while a large percentage of the passengers went to the Heathrow Holiday Inn, a smaller number (e.g., the back of the plane) ended up at the Park Inn. I had very little expectations for this hotel but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was part of the Radisson. The lobby was very nice. Check-in was very quick and easy (our check-in agent wanted our passports while we heard others were not asked for anything and just given a key). We were starving and we have to give the Park Inn a gold star for having their restaurant buffet open until 11pm and beyond. We arrived with a small wave of people after 10pm but then a huge number of people arrived even later. The buffet looked good and had large variety but the food had been sitting for a long time and was dried out. But it hit the spot. We had a room on the first floor and it was large and comfortable. Large screen TV, desk, counter space, two easy chairs, large bathroom but two single beds which neither of us had slept in for many, many years so that was bit weird. The furnishings were comfortable but definitely worn and had seen better days. Not great but not horrible. The bathroom was quite modern with a great shower and large sink - and lots of hot water and good water pressure. The breakfast buffet was large and impressive with traditional English breakfast items plus lots of other things - you can't starve. Collapse

My boyfriend and i stayed overnight on the 10th November as we had an early flight on the 11th. The 10th also happened to be my partners 21st birthday- so a very special night for him. I asked for us to be upgraded and have balloons, wine and confetti. It took me over 12 hours to get this agreed- i phoned 4 times to get an email confirmation to which every time the answer was 'i will send it in 2 minutes' each time i waited well over 2 hours. By this point i was fuming - how hard is it to send an email? this then went into the next day and then finally a girl (sorry if i spelt this wrong) called 'Ramen' was incredibly helpful and actually sent an email. When we got there the man behind the check in was miserable and (although we didnt look our best) kept looking us up and down and very obviously judging us. when i arrived into the room (which, was lovely except the dribbly shower) there were no balloons or anything i had ordered instead there was a card and a small bag of caramel popcorn- he doesnt even like popcorn- i ate it! and then when we opened the window we were overlooking big bins. very poor service and very disappointed- save your time and money and dont stay here. I booked via Expedia for £59.50 which was a very good price considering the location. When I got to my room I had a huge room with a king-size bed, a large table, huge changing area and bathroom. I didn't eat because I checked in late (around 9pm) and know that food in airport hotels are expensive. I had a drink in the bar - £5.60 for a pint of Guinness was expensive but to be expected - this was the only reason it didn't get 5 stars for value. The staff were very friendly and it was very clean so all very good. The other great advantage of staying here is you can travel to Heathrow for free! Don't waste your money on the expensive Hoppa service - you can get a bus outside the hotel for free which takes you all the way so well worth doing this. Collapse

In all honesty , if I ever feel like I want to be treated like a disrespected bag of s**t again, I know where to go. The staff are rude , think they are better than you, roll there eyes, sneer , and judge the moment you walk to the desk. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable. And they have a cheek to put a sign up that says “queue here for the next inviting smile” ! The food in the restaurant they rave so highly about is bland , and tasteless, and if I chucked my burger bun at my mate she’d have a concussion . The cocktails were made by someone who clearly doesn’t know how to make cocktails, to the point they were undrinkable, and the rooms are dark & shabby. Nothing special. And don’t start me on the manager. The woman that was on shift was horrible. I arrived before my friend, who’s name was the main guest, I had travelled 10 hours, straight after a 12 hour shift, no sleep no food, only to be told I’m not getting in. My friend rings up to change the main guest name as advised by a receptionist, and the manager was extremely rude and unhelpful, only for her to come and do the same to me at the desk. I felt like a criminal. I stay in hotels nearly every weekend n I’ve never been treated so badly. I’ll never stay here again. Edit : nearly forgot to mention that I took money out the bank to pay for my room (as I do everywhere) and I was told since I’m paying cash I’ll need to pay an extra £50, incase I damage anything (she looked me up and down whilst saying this) I told her no. they don’t put that on the website , and I booked for £65, not £115. She said “yes, we don’t put any of our extra charges on our pages” ... false advertisement if you ask me !!! Collapse
