The room itself was extremely small, very little space between the foot of the bed and the wall. The window catches were broken, reported it to reception who said that none of the windows opened as people had tried to jump out of them so they removed the option of openable windows! This makes the room feel totally airless. There is air conditioning which is fine so long as you don’t want fresh air. The room had most things you would need, tea and coffee facilities, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, coat hangers and a minimalist hanging rack. The bed was rock hard and could only find 3 pillows for the double bed – no idea where any others had been stored. The TV remote control didn’t work so had to go to reception to get new batteries. Only one bedside light was working. The bathroom had enough towels for only one person. The main failing of this hotel would appear to be in terms of housekeeping standards. All these items should have been checked before the next guest checked in. Overall, the room didn’t look as good as any shown on the website, sadly. The room was very tired looking – ‘basic and functional’. Once away from the main reception, bar etc. the hotel looks tired and in need of upgrading, carpets and paintwork dirty and scuffed. Customers need to be aware that the doors along the corridors are not easy to open especially if you are elderly, have a disability or re carrying a lot of luggage, presumably because they’re fire doors. Didn’t eat in the hotel so unable to comment on the standard of the food, but an additional £12.50 for breakfast that does seem a little high. The hotel is convenient for the city centre, the staff are friendly, but really there are much better options, wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone. Collapse
Good for an overnight stop-over

Rooms are small and in a modern, minimalist style - you'll get a bed, hanging rack, small desk, tv and tea/coffee facilities; similar to a Travelodge or Premier Inn. En-suite bathrooms also a bit small and basic, although the basic, modern style works well with the walk in shower (no bath). There's plenty of parking (register car at reception); and a small pool & spa (didn't visit). Stayed here a few times, never eaten in the evening, but the breakfast has always been pretty good. The hotel overall looks like it needs a bit of refreshing - lots odd dirty/marked paint work and carpets. It'll do the job if you get a decent price and need somewhere to sleep in the area for a night or two; but I wouldn't want to spend much time in the room. Collapse
Room filthy, low standards from cleaners

We stayed overnight at The Park Inn and check in was quick as the hotel was quite empty after the new year. We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor, the room was an ideal size, the bed was a little hard and there was only 2 pillows and the temperature was a bit high during the night which my wife turned down The shower pressure was a bit low but it was okay and we were on the third floor which may have contributed to the low pressure Breakfast in the morning was great and Rakesh was on his own in the restaurant area and he took our order and it arrived in no time and he was extremely polite and well turned out. The breakfast itself was very tasty and the portion size was good Overall it was a good stay at The Park Inn despite a few minor points we will definately stay again. Collapse
Alright for a short stay...

The room itself was ok. It was a little on the small side but I didn't pay much for the night so I wasn't overly bothered. However, a couple of negatives I want to discuss. I made a booking for two people yet only one towel in the bathroom so we had to share. Also, they don't provide shower caps, which usually wouldn't be an issue however, they had an over-head rainfall shower ... so showering without wetting my hair was difficult. Then lastly, the lighting in the room is poor. It's fine in the bathroom, but better lighting around the dressing area would be preferable. Kettle and drink facilities are a plus. Room was clean. Good location as only five minutes away from town (drive). Free carpark. Breakfast was okay.. wasn't bad but wasn't anything special. If you want a 'nice' hotel, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. However, if like us, you just want a place to get ready and sleep, then this is fine. It isn't a bad hotel, but there is better ... Collapse
