We booked to stay overnight attending a wedding, started badly when the free parking indicated online was actually £5.00 per day, not expensive but still if it costs state it online. Check in was quite at 2pm, parked right outside and room appeared well worth the money at first glance. After a long day at the wedding we hit the sack about 10 - 10:30, when the fun started. When doors closed they close with a slam!! Despite the double glazing and windows closed you could hear conversations outside all night, wife woke at 2am thinking I was in the shower, turns out it was someone in another room!! Room was well decorated, smart tv, loads of charging points and clean, which is a shame as the noise let the who experience down. Collapse

Attended hotel for a one night stay over weekend for mates birthday. We had booked the hotel through booking.com over month earlier. We arrived at hotel to check in, where we was told we had booked a double bed, we corrected and said no was a twin. The check in lady Magdalena or something like that tapped away at computer and said no you have definitely booked a double. We once again corrected her and said no we didn't, she then turns and says well sorry I don't have any twins, and carrys on tapping. I eventually have to ask her what the solution is, she says I don't know! I ask if they are able to split some beds in the room? She says sorry we don't have any housekeeping staff in as it's bank holiday weekend, the most ludicrous statement I think a hotel can say. The lady then feels the need to argue with us that it was our fault, eventually I ask her to get it sorted or if she can't get the manager for me. That apparently is a worry to her as she now phones the manager to ask if he can go and split the beds. She tells us to take a seat and wait for the room. We did just that. After 30 min of waiting I went back to desk to just ask how long the room will likely be as we was now late for a reservation and meeting some people, so wanted to let them know how long we would be, she keeps up phone begrudgingly to call manager, then turns to me and says it's not ready yet. Not what I had asked and asked her to ask for a rough time to which she started saying was my fault again, having to then tell her that if she is unable to speak to manager give me the phone and I will ask, she calls again this time saying that we have been really impatient and want the room, she comes off phone and says manager says will be a while! No less than 20 sec later the manager walks out lift saying room is ready! If this is the level of service expected on arrival my lord why spend £1 million renovating rooms as you will have no one to stay in them! Thankfully I have to say the room we stayed in was excellent condition and also one that had not been renovated which is a testimony to the housekeeping that don't work on bank holidays. The bathroom looked nearly new with large drencher shower. We Had drinks in hotel bar before heading out, which was nice and relaxed, also saw the manager in there to which I spoke about the check in lady. Luckily the manager and bar team have had basic customer service training and are able to talk in a civil manner to us. Would have rated so much higher but unfortunately the only memory we have is of a rude check in lady, won't be rushing back in a hurry, more so when I can get better service from travel lodge or premier inn just down road and for same price! The customer service that my family and I were given was not good we had travelled from London as my niece had come to do work in Northampton and arrived after 10pm and the room was booked for two we required a room for five but was not available we had to look for another hotel for three we asked the receptionist to leave luggage in the room until we found another hotel for three she advised us that was okay which we did, on our return to get our luggage from the room before we got in the lift to do that the manager had stopped us advising we have ten minutes to do so after five minutes of arriving in the room the manager and his assistant had turned off the lights in the bedroom and knocked the door and told us to leave he expected us to get our luggage in the dark and not seeing what we were doing and was asked to leave.
