Location near the Opera is excellent, although I was there during the July sales events at the major department stores down the street and the streets were very crowded. You are close to various Metro stations and to the Roissy Bus if you are planning to go to CDG. The hotel is classic, which makes it very charming. Elevators are small, but functional. The breakfast buffet was high quality and well stocked. My room was also quite nice and quiet. If you are a Marriott Gold or higher, note that the Concierge Level is not in an ideal space (more like an attic space) and they keep the room very cold. For the evening, the amount of food is a bit skimpy compared to other Marriotts in Europe and the space is small and got crowded quicklly, so I didn't go there as often as I would have otherwise. Nevertheless, it was convenient for refreshments after a hot day, and the friendliness of the staff made the visit pleasurable. I will return. Collapse

The location on Blvd Haussmann near the Opera made it superbly located far which from the touristic yet easily accessible to the major attractions. The hotel is generally well furnished and comfortable with friendly staff. Breakfast was a good selection of French fare. A couple of drawback is the exec lounge is quite small and sterile. While they generally recognised elite members, think use policy rather than initiative. Upon arrival, the deluxe room was not available but an exec room which was could not be offered unless I pay the difference per policy hence ended up half asleep as flew from Hong Kong via London waiting at the lounge for a couple hours. Not up to usual Marriott standards

If you are are Marriott elite member, you will be disappointed as this hotel does not recognize elite status. While they have a space at the front desk that is supposedly for elite customers, I went to stand in it and was told to just get in back of the regular lines with everybody else as they don't staff that area. The lines were long and the front desk staff can't keep up. Check-in was a major issue. When we first got to the hotel at approximately 11am, we were told our room would be ready in an hour. I had requested early check-in and while I understand that is not guaranteed, we were fine with waiting for an hour. We sat in the lobby and I returned to the front desk in an hour only to be told that now our room wouldn't be be ready at 3pm, their regular check-in time. I returned to the front desk at 3pm. The room was still not ready. It never became ready until 4:30pm. This was unacceptable. They need to be honest about the time the room will be ready and not just string the customer along. Later we found out that the previous occupants had late check-out so they should have been honest about that and given us a realistic time that the room would be ready. We wasted a lot of time checking on the room when there was no way it would be ready when they told us. The customer service at the front desk was non-existent. While the room was a good size, the air-conditioning did not work at all and the room was hot and stuffy. We had to prop open the balcony door to get some air into the room. The shower only had a half glass wall and consistently flooded the bathroom every time we used. it. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so it got very steamy fogging up the mirrors. The hot water came and went so there was variation in temperature during showers. One nice feature of the room was that there was a door between the bedroom and foyer where the bathroom was located so you could separate the rooms. We had asked for a roll-away bed which was in the room when we checked in which was great. However, it collapsed twice when we were using it which was dangerous. The executive lounge did not have any kind of snacks during the day and was inconsistently staffed both at breakfast and in the evening such that food frequently ran out and there were long lags before it was replaced. There were no bottles of water available - only a water dispenser that you could put into a cup. The offerings at this executive lounge were not up to par with other executive lounges at similar hotels. The location of the hotel is very good which was one redeeming factor. There are 2 subway stops close to the hotel. It is also near many restaurants and also Opera Garnier as well as tour bus stops so that was helpful. Collapse
