Great experience, harbor views are special.Amenities are excellent. Five Sails restaurant was excellent. Bar is very noisy. Location is great for sea planes and ferries. Concierge gave good advice as did desk clerk.

Everything in the hotel was nice and the rooms were nice, the food service was great, but the customer service of the main desk and the management was terrible. I have been looking forward on staying here for a long time. I wanted to stay at place where I can be less stressed, but the people service was terrible I was told I couldn’t do something and got yelled at even if I didn’t even know that there was a rule on that certain thing. The customer service/employees were eyeing me as if I was some dirty person who didn’t deserve to be there. Instead of being relieved of stress, I got more stress added during my stay. I recommend the hotel but the only downside is their terrible customer service. Advice for this hotel: hire nicer people and don’t be so strict on your rules. (Make sure you know about your customers before you judge them) Collapse

We got a harbor view room on the 21st floor and had fabulous views of seaplanes taking off and landing every few minutes. Seagulls flew past our window and the view of the water/mountains was fabulous. This hotel is very close to the old part of Gastown area. At first glance the room seemed very luxurious but more attention was paid to the looks rather than the functionality. The fan in the bathroom, which was automatic and couldn't be turned off, felt like a windstorm and was cold, especially when you first get up. There was an annoying strong draft at ankle level and overall, the bathroom fan was excessive and unpleasant - way too strong. Someone thought it clever to make the same door service both the full bathroom and just the toilet area. But if you're traveling with people you don't feel comfortable parading in the nude or pajamas with, this was weird. Also weird was the sink they chose. It was so high and deep that I could barely spit my toothpaste into the sink at all! I am an average height woman and had to lean way in to hit the sink. Also, the hot water was VERY hot which is great but it was difficult to regulate a warm temperature in the bathroom sink - you needed just a smidge of hot water and a lot of the cold, not to get scalded. Another neat design feature that actually sucked was the glass wall of the shower that floods the whole room with light when someone uses the bathroom. So if one of you wants to sleep while the other showers, the room is going to be illuminated and there's nothing you can do about it. The shower fixture was difficult to use - both of us had trouble figuring out how to alternate between the rainshower head and he handheld spray. Both of us had to get soaked by the showerhead while trying to regulate the temperature of the water because you couldn't reach the controls without being IN the shower. Even worse was the weak water pressure - I could barely get the shampoo out of my hair. Also, the shower is glass walls and doors (no tub) with no grab bars at all. On the plus side, the beds were VERY comfortable and the pillows were great - each bed had several pillows. The room was spotlessly clean and the drapes were beautiful. The TV was very large. The coffee maker was a nice Nespresso, but NO directions so we never did figure out how to use it. No complimentary bottled water, but two ridiculous bottles of Icelandic water for $4 or $8. Ugh. The hotel does offer complimentary hors d'oeuvres between 5-7 pm - the night we were there they had chicken gyoza and spanikopita - both were good! Also, cheese, crackers, fruit, cold and hot beverages plus one cocktail each on an honor system. We had the hotel breakfast included in our room rate and it was very good. Eggs, bacon, sausage, roast potatoes, juices, several kinds of bread, fruit, cheeses, pastries. Small displays but plenty of variety. Excellent coffee with options of espresso and latte, too. This is a very nice hotel that could be even better. Valet guys were great!! Front desk staff seemed over busy and distracted. There should be a sign in the entryway telling you that you have to take two escalators to get to the checkin area - maybe there are some but I didn't see them. Collapse

High class hotel with great view and fine location. The bed was comfortable with white sheets and lots of pillows and the Starbucks coffee machine was just great idea. At the beginning I had a room for double beds with bay view but I had to change it and I got a room with city view. The additional pay was too much for changing back. Summary I will recommend the Pan Pacific hotel. I had problem with the Wi-Fi and it took too long to fix it although the I.T person said it's a problem of my device, we have been there a big group for a meeting and I'm not the only one that had the problem Collapse
