I stayed at the Palace for 3 nights in one of the designer suites. The aircon worked great and the view was fantastic from a very space balcony. They seems to have plenty of staff and always pay attention to to, friendly and welcoming. Just the small things that you get a cold glass of ice tea when you check in is this kind of things you remember this place as different to other hotels. The restaurant on top floor was really nice and they have great offers on set menyn, for example a 4 course indian cousine on Wednesdays with half bottle of wine for 35 EUR. The view at the pool area and bar upstairs was spectacular as well. Collapse

The Palace Hotel is situated in a central, but quieter part of Sliema which, given the hustle and bustle of the town, is to be welcomed. It's important to note that the hotel is set on a hill, which might be an issue for the elderly or infirm. We had an executive room, with a balcony, on the seventh floor, which was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our only grumble is that the plumbing for the shower, in particular, wasn't great, and water tended to leak out near the door hinges, creating a puddle. We did report the problem, but it seemed to be more of a design issue rather than a fault. The bath was also on the narrow side. Room service was exemplary, extremely attentive, courteous and friendly, but also discreet. We found all members of staff on the reception to be very helpful, with Floyd being worthy of special mention for his attentiveness. We only ate in the hotel on two occasions - one was in the Asian restaurant on the 9th floor and the other on the ground floor - the Tabloid restaurant. The Asian restaurant was a delight with wonderful food, and equally wonderful views. It was the more upmarket of the two, with prices to match, but very enjoyable nonetheless. The buffet meal was less enjoyable. The food was good, but the restaurant itself lacked atmosphere and, as it was our first time, there, it would have been helpful if a member of staff had explained how the system worked, rather than leave us to work it out for ourselves. There was a lack of communication on some issues. For instance, we were told after five days, that our minibar was free. We also found out by accident that the taxi company based in the hotel, runs inexpensive shuttle bus trips to local sights, which are excellent. All in all, we would certainly recommend this hotel. We had a very relaxing holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and it was an oasis of tranquility to return to at the end of a long and very hot day's sightseeing. Collapse

We stayed here for a week as a family, in a triple room with balcony, and a double internal room. Both rooms were very large. Our triple room was in the old part of the hotel where we had a seperate lift just off a meeting room break-out area. Most of the time it was fine, but one day it was a little embarrassing walking through in our beachwear when business people were milling about and drinking coffee! Our room was very comfortable and cleaned every day, sometimes twice a day. The air con did pack up one night but was swiftly sorted out the next day. There were also a couple of power cuts but came back on in minutes. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, especially Sami on reception who sorted out our hire car and also our captain Morgan st Fernandes day cruise to Comino and Gozo (€50 each and well worth it). Esther in the tabloid was also a friendly face who kept my daughter topped up with cups of tea at meal times. We stayed half board. Breakfast and evening meal in the Tabloid were both amazing. Buffet style with more than enough choices of hot and cold, with evening menu changing every day. Our only disappointment was one of the evenings was advertised to outsiders and other hotel guests as unlimited wine. As half board we weren't allowed to have this. Here the hotel let themselves down! There was hardly anyone half board so it wouldn't have broke the bank for the palace, and as we had already paid up front for our food, and had bought drinks in the restaurant EVERY night of our stay (expensive), it would have been nice to have had some free wine on this one occasion. The pool was lovely and there were plenty of sun beds which is surprising as the adjoining hotel, the Victoria, can use it and also the public can pay and come in for the day. There was none of that stupid bagging sun beds with towels at some unearthly time of the day. People came and went all day. Our family of 5 usually did some sight seeing in the morning and then spent a few hours by the pool in the afternoon. The palace is 5 mins from the ferries to Valletta, we also went to Mdina which is very picturesque, golden bay beach (not that amazing) and the captain Morgan cruise which was the best day, but get there early to get a good spot on the boat. Overall we had a fabulous holiday and would definitely come back to Malta, and the Palace. Nearly forgot good little boozer up the road, Salisbury arms, very cheap €4.50 for a Bacardi and Coke and vodka and Coke, also bar on the front, walk straight down, past the hole in the wall, cheap cocktails,€5, much more alcohol in them, than the hotel ones. Well, where do I start! Hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It was a while ago but I only just got to write the review now. Nevertheless... The staff goes absolutely out of their way to provide for you and make your stay exceptionally comfortable. Always smiling, friendly, with a positive, relaxed attitude, yet attentive and SO helpful and kind. Special thank you to Andrew - incredible example of a great, genuine customer care, he seems to sincerely enjoy his job. We had a stunning room with a balcony and an even more stunning view. Breakfast had all you could ask for, including champagne, massive variety of sweet and savoury choices, freshly made waffles, crepes or eggs, with a lot of diet options (light, diabetic, gluten free). Staff lovely also then, we noticed they were also really kind to each other, which just shows how sincere they are. The hotel has several impressive restaurants, rooftop pool, indoor pool, jacuzzi and gym. It is true luxury. We genuinely felt exceptionally looked after and our experience with the hotel, especially the staff has made our stay in Malta even more unforgettable. Thank you so much Collapse
