My husband and I just left the Palace yesterday and had a lovely time! From the moment I booked and till the minute I left, Marie was attentive and a pleasure to work with. Yes the hotel needs a facelift with new carpeting and such, but we were very comfortable and it did nothing to take away from our experience. We stayed 5 nights in a junior suite and it was great! The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. We had three balconies and a beautiful view of the driving range and trees. The only thing that prevents me from giving them a five star is the food. We ate at the buffet every day for breakfast and there were many choices and it was OK. The dinner at the grill house was very mediocre. I'm not sure how they prepare the meat, but it was not very good. Also, the food at the buffet for dinner was also nothing very good. All of the food was very bland. We had the best food at the water park and the mall, although that was not very good either. My husband and I never made it to Plume, but I cannot imagine based on the restaurants and room service that it would have been outstanding. Again, even with the poor food, I wouldn't hesitate to return. Next time we come I am hoping that we bring our children. The Valley of the Waves water park is wonderful and the game drives we took were amazing. The people at the Palace are top notch and they made the whole experience so good! Nora at the pool doing feet massages is heaven! Collapse

We had booked 3 rooms to celebrate a friends 50th and the Plume restaurant for Valentines night.Upon arrival there was no booking for the 3 rooms .We were able to produce booking confirmation e mails and it appeared that the hotel had a booking for us at another hotel at Suncity. The staff were polite and eventually after about an hour we were given 3 rooms.Unfortunately althiough the rooms were large the view was somewhat disappointing as all we could see was foliage from a tree! The room also smelt damp. The air conditioning was on but didnt seem to be blowing out a lot of cold air.We had the fan on also but this worked at one speed which was "slow".On the second day we returned to our rooms after a lovely day by the adult only pool to find that the AC was not working in our room or the adjacent room s of our friends.I tried calling reception and house keeping but no one picked up.I went downstairs to the house keeping desk and reported the issue. Maintenance staff were sent to the rooms to look at the problem and agreed that the rooms were very hot. When we came back from our evening the AC was still not working and we all spent an incredibly uncomfortable night. We also had issues with our Valentines booking in the Plume Restaurant. My friend had booked from the uk for 6 people. They only jhad areservation for 2.They were shown the confirmation e mail and said they would sort a table for 6.Unfortunately they couldnt offer us a table for 8 ! Wed only just asked for the 6! The pools and Grill Restaurant and breakfast were excellent. The staff very friendly and polite but i would have expected air conditioning to work and all our bookings to have been correct. Collapse

My wife and I spent three nights at the Palace back in November and we were in awe of this magnificent structure and accommodation known as the Palace of the Lost City. We were greeted with a smile and a cold beverage when we arrived and things kept getting better from there. We stayed in a junior suite up on the 8th floor; this suite was complete with three balconies, two bathrooms, a nice sitting area where we got to entertain some friends and one of the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept in. Upon walking in the room, we were greeted with a large plate of fresh fruit and a bottle of champagne, and also took advantage of the butler service. The grounds at the Palace are amazing. There are so many trails to walk around, birds to see, statues, fountains, greenery and waterfalls it was just truly amazing. The main pool at the Palace is enormous, and if you like water, the Valley of Waves is where it's at. Between the many water slides, the wave pool, or lust laying in the sand you're gonna have a great time. There's also plenty of restaurants to eat at on the grounds, at Sun Central, and at the Valley of the Waves, but it's the breakfast the Palace that you're not going to want to miss. Simply put, it's absolutely amazing. On the ground of the Palace there's a a crocodile farm to visit, you can try to make your way through a large maze, and celebrate the fact that you completed it by grabbing a beer at the bar at the end, or you can make your reservations for your hot air ballon ride or zip line adventure right there too. The staff at Palace were very nice and extremely professional. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and wanted to make sure that we were cared for. It didn't matter if it was the receptionist in the lobby, our butler, the folks at the restaurant, the drivers who took us from the Palace to Sun Central, the folks at the casino, or whomever, I don't have anything but nice things to say about them. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and of course, it was sad when the day came to leave. Since we've been back, there's not a week that goes by where my wife and I don't talk about going back. We hope to be back within the next couple years. Collapse
