We booked 2 city view rooms , that were interconnecting. We were lucky enough to have view of the beach between our hotel and the westin surfrider. We had an issue which we notified the front desk about and they fixed it on the spot for us. Check in is nice and they bring tray with cool towels and fruity drink out. There is a resort fee but unlike the hilton hawaiian village resort fee you can see what the fee is for, it includes daily 60 minute phone call around the world , 2 bottle of waters. a beach bag that we used during the stay, safe, activities, discount vouchers to the Iolani palace , kids under 5 eat free and $10 outrigger rides which we had ball on ,They also do an Hawaiian vow renewal service which we did and it was very lovely service and the outrigger trolley that takes you to places such as Diamond head. We were lucky to have a wonderful driver who name started will L , like Lenoard, he stopped at the Diamond head look out for every to take a picture before dropping as at the crater and was very informative and gave interesting information on our journey , he is an asset to your brand. We dine at Hula grill for breakfast and dinner and Dinner at Dukes and the Cheesecake factory is a few doors up but get there early or expect a long wait. The are is so central and there is the Royal Hawaiian next door , international market place , macy across the road and ross dress for less a block away and also some street markets in between . There is also and ABC store across the road and we would often pick up breakfast supplies and snack there and save your receipt and you get a prize at the end of your stay. The Bell biys were also great , they got our luggage up in record time and one day when went to the outlet and went shopping , they carried our boot load of shopping up to our room. The pool was nice and the beach was fun to float the rings in the ocean. Front desk were helpful with request and giving change to use the pink line trolley to the Ala Moana shopping centre . They also had washers and dryers too. When we go back i would definately stay here as it is so central and the staff were very friendly. Collapse

Hi, I'm 30's female and travelled with 3 friends (2 rooms) for 6nights in mid April. We paid avg $410AUD a night for an Ocean View room through Expedia- the rate varies on Mon-Tues and Weekends. This is my second visit to Outrigger on the Beach not to be confused with Outrigger Reef which is further up Kalakaua Ave. From the airport, you can get a taxi to Outrigger for ~$40USD or get on a shuttle bus for $18pp return (pre-booked return). Either will take between 30-50mins depending on traffic. The shuttle will do drop offs at other hotels. Pro's: - This is one of only 3 hotels with DIRECT access to Waikiki beach. (All others are across the road from Kalakaua Ave or short walk to Waikiki(Sheraton)). - The express lift for levels 14/15/16!!! - Duke's famous restaurant and Barefoot Bar downstairs! (As a guest of Outrigger you can call them from your room 1hr prior to get a spot in the waiting list for Dinner menu) - Pai's Deli on the Lower Lobby do a fresh & healthy sandwich with choice of fillings and salads for $8-13USD. This deli is great to pick up quick food and drinks instead of sit down meals at restaurants. - ATM's, convenience store & coffee shop downstairs - Waikiki Beach is literally at the back door - The Duke statue is a 2min walk if you want to catch the Outrigger Trolley (apart of the Connection fee of $30USD charged to room daily) - The Outrigger Trolley takes you to some key attractions eg Diamond Head - Shopping & restaurant options at your doorstep - Free Wifi connection is good - No shower issues - Walk in wardrobe - Good size room with rollout couch - Great staff - No noise issues - Laundry downstairs (self serve) and laundry services from in-room at a charge) Cons: - Bookings made through a third party search engine won't charge the $30USD daily Connection fee for unlimited international/local calls, unlimited rides of the Outrigger Trolley (2pp per room), daily newspapers, 2x bottles of water, booklet of coupons & Outrigger beach tote bag. This is an unavoidable fee in addition to the resort fee. Safe Travels! Collapse

Stay at the Outrigger if you want a hotel right on the beach with a typical Hawaiian atmosphere. The hotel has great service and the rooms are decent sizes. The hot tub is also a nice addition on the beach but people that aren't staying at the hotel often walk in and use it. The valet service is extremely easy. Thanks for the great stay! Collapse
