Best Hotel In Africa

A hotel like no other. An establishment that is peerless and without comparison to anything else. Here you will enjoy a level of service and precision that is absolutely on another level. A must when in Cape Town.

We stayed here twice in our South African holiday. Both times, we had a very relaxed and friendly check in and the staff were very attentive. We were more than happy with our triple room. All rooms faced Table Mountain and over the lagoon Spa area. Our room, on both occasions, was spacious with luxurious bathroom areas. The spa offered a very complete range of treatments and the ones we chose were very good. There is an indoor pool that is really a very nice Jacuzzi. The outdoor pool shown on the website is the Private Spa Island pool and the Infinity Pool is only available to guests in the Penthouse suites. We ate in the bar area and found the menu to contain interesting and tasty options. It was also a relaxing area to sit in. The area of the hotel was well located in the V&A Harbour Front and it was easy to walk to the tourist area there, with many shops and restaurants to choose from. The staff were very friendly and helpful with all aspects of our visit, including coordinating tours and transfers. It is an amazing hotel to stay. I would recommend this hotel and hope to return again soon. Collapse

Throughout my life I have had stayed at some amazing places and locales but from the moment we knew were going to South Africa we were overwhelmed with excitement and anticipation and our journey started in Capetown at the One & Only. To say our arrival was nothing short of those feelings would be an understatement. The doormen greeted us with a warm welcome (and continued throughout our trip!) and were ushered in to an even warmer welcome by the management staff who graciously took the time to check us in and walk us about. The grounds of the property were immaculate and the close proximity to the waterfront make this an exceptional choice. Ruebens did not disappoint and was a staple for breakfast everyday. Although we did not eat at the Nobu, it has its own fantastic reviews and is recommended to try just based on appearance and cleanliness alone. The hotel staff was always extremely friendly and always willing to go out of their way. Housekeeping was professional and respectful but the concierge team took that to another level. The entire team went out of their way when we had our quirky requests and changes to our requests and always came through. The attentiveness and personal notes to the room sold me on the hotel and will forever be a recommendation to anyone who asks where to stay in Cape Town. If our travels bring us back to the Cape, we will be certain to have this on our list. To all at the O&O, Thank you for a wonderful experience! Collapse

If your desire is to stay in the Victoria & Albert waterfront area and you want a 5-star experience, you really have two choices, O&O and the Queen Victoria. Both provide excellent location to the most "happening" part of Cape Town which is the waterfront district. They each offer very different styles and experiences so it really comes down to personal preference. O&O is very transitional in it's styling, more so than any other O&O property we have stayed at. The QV on the other hand is, as you might expect, more Victorian in it's styling. Clearly the O&O shows less sign of wear, it's quite a bit newer and really exudes a clean, more modern feel. The QV does show it's age. The contrast is similar to what you would find comparing a older Ritz Carlton to a newer Four Seasons. Both great in their own right but a different look, feel, style and experience. While the service is not quite as refined or personalized as what we've experienced at other O&O properties (i.e, Pamilla or The Palm) , we had absolutely no complaints. Our suite was very large, 1200 sf with two balconies framing Table Mountain above a small inlet harbor...really gorgeous! The room styles are transitional, with some craftman elements and had superb fit and finish. The double bathrooms (oen with shower, one with shower and tub and two water closets) is always a much appreciated feature. The breakfast buffet actually deserves a special call out, simply spectacular...something to look forward to each morning. Overall the O&O met or exceeded our (rather high) expectations and it's the hotel I would return to on our next visit. I always appreciate a helpful vote in this review was! Collapse
