Just returned from 4 nights at the Ommaroo, firstly the only complaint I had was the pool was not heated, it was extremely cold the one and only time my grandson and myself tried it! ! Now for the positives, we had a family room No. 74, very spacious, clean and comfortable beds, had a sea view, lovely big light clean room, we had shower/ hair shampoo and soap in the huge bathroom, plenty of clean soft towels. Room service every day, everything was replenished. The staff were lovely, the manager Andre was very welcoming and allowed us to check in a bit earlier, he asked how our room was and every time we saw him he asked if everything was ok,, saying that the rest of the staff were very pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for any of them, they all work extremely hard., we had a couple of 'different' requests food wise due to being with a four year old and they did their best to accommodate his wishes!!. We had breakfast every morning, ate in the conservatory one evening (which was very pleasant to be able to sit and look out over the sea) and finished our stay off with a lovely cream tea, the food was very good. I was a little worried when we first arrived as we were a little way out of the town, but the spot was ideal, my grandson was in paradise with the lovely sandy beach just across the road and the little pool that became available when the tide was out was perfect for splashing about in and swimming. There was a noise coming from the Lido a couple of nights but it didnt bother us too much and that really is not the hotels fault. There is a little corner shop just a few minutes away from the hotel which did basics and the bus stop to the town was just outside the hotel, it was a perfect hotel for our stay and I look forward to returning, I admit I did pay extra for a sea view room but you only get what you pay for and I have to say I had a lovely stay and wish I was back there now!!! never again would stay here again was glad to leave.

The rooms are clean but very basic. Nice hotel, very close to the beach, easy check in and check out. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast every morning was lovely, clean rooms. A few downside points for us were a dog was staying in room next door to us and one evening was barking at 10pm. No problem to me but more for those with young children tgat may have been asleep by then. The Wi-Fi did not work well if at all must of the times in our room (We were on top floor). A few days while we were there, our toilet roll wasn't replenished and we had to go to reception to ask for it. On a few evenings mid week there was loud music playing in the bar downstairs. Again, while this did not effect us, as the music went on until 11pm and may disturb younger children. Nice hotel for the money but have to agree with what another reviewer said here and would pay extra for something a little better Collapse
