Back in El Vistimar ... great hotel and new manager from last year but sadly same old problems plus some new ones. For the 8 years coming here the Internet is still crap! Logged in 22 times today as connection drops after a short time( hopefully will get this post away before drops again!) . Last year we had a complimentary coffee service at the premium pool but this year it's gone replaced by an inferior pay to play waiter service which only visits very intermittently as base is at the main pool and casual dining area. Here two nights and no entertainment in the bar... this is the thon end of the wedge ... in previous years they used to have an onsite animations staff but that got chopped so looks like the bar entertainment is next. The staff are what makes the place but the penny pinching cost cutting and the crap wi fi are letting the place down big time ... El Vistimar has a loyal following but talking to some of the guests in the last few days they feel they are being taken for a ride. And guess what .... the internet did drop again so had to log on all over in order to post this ..reckon they have it programmed to drop every ten minutes or so Pat Farrell Collapse
A nice relaxing stay.

We stayed for 4 nights from the 8th June. We booked a suite and were pleasantly surprised to see a view of the lighthouse when we turned left into the suite and into the bedroom. On entering the lounge, we were blown away by the stunning view of the harbour and beyond. We had room 624, so at the top of the building, although one of the two lifts goes up to floor 7, but in a more central part of the buidling. I would have no hesitation in asking for this room again. We booked with Monarch only a few days before going and considering the price we paid, with free entry to the Elite area and free fridge (really charging for a fridge, is something I have never come across except on camping holidays in the 90s!!) it seems we did quite well, but maybe that was due to the late booking. The restaurant was fairly busy, but the food was replenished regularly. As with previous reviews, I agree that the food could be a bit hotter. I would like to thank the head waiter and one or two of the chefs that were in the restaurant. I have to follow a gluten free diet and was shown around as to what was suitable and what was not. The next day, gluten signs appeared on the dishes, but it was difficult to clarify whether the signs meant it was safe to eat, or actually whether it contained gluten. Again, help was on hand. Freshly baked baguettes were available if you asked, and after a couple of days, were automatically offered. One point I would make, please get some gluten free cereals for breakfast. Schar do a wonderful individual packet of muesli, not available over here and always a treat when in Majorca. I do take my own cereal., but its nice not to have to use it. Oh and fabulous coffee at breakfast, but come on Ola el Vistamar, get some fresh juice on your menu too. That fruit drink you offer reminds me of stuff we used to make up from a sherbert mix when we were kids. The hotel is in a peaceful location. We hired bicycles and rode over to Cala el Sau Nau which can be mostly done off road and takes you through some stunning scenery. We thought we were going to a small cove not accessible by road but the place was packed, so we headed back to the cove opposite the hotel where it was fairly deserted. 17 miles that day, fools that we are in the midday sun!! All in all, a nice relaxing stay and we plan to return. Many thanks to all at the hotel, we had a lovely short break. Collapse

hotel nice enough, food very poor for evening meals unless you like fish. the photos you look at are misleading the beautiful looking sunbeds are for elite customers unless you would like to pay 10 euros a day and the jacuzzi well that was not for every ones use either! this hotel boast segregation at its best where guest are not treated as equals just because you don't book a suite and you are people who are happy with a standard room! on a plus the hotels main pool is beautiful and the cleanliness is the best i have come across in hotels. This was honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in June and had the best week. We had a standard double room with a side sea view (room 314). Perfectly clean and modern room with big balcony, bathroom and TV. Only thing is (in the standard room) the bed was two single beds pushed together with separate duvets. Also you have to pay extra for fridge and safe. Breakfast was gorgeous with lots of choice and regularly replenished. Dinner was a bit hit and miss bit could always find something nice to have. The pools were lovely although the main pool was very crowded and difficult to get a bed with an umbrella, therefore we paid everyday for the elite pool (€10 a day) - so so worth it. Wifi was free and really good all around the hotel and in rooms. Overall we had an amazing time and will be returning in the future! Collapse

We stayed from 23rd May 2017 to the 5th June 2017 in a suite at Ola Hotel El Vistamar in Portocolom, Mallorca. Con: Ligth in the bathroom not the best and the match of washbasin and tap a little problematic Pro: The suites are large and booking a juniorsuite or a suite give permission to take part in the Elite Club. Elite Club has their own new pool The food is really good The hotel is very clean. Best we ever have seen. Very quit hotel (no music at the Elite Pool and no animation) The staff is very friendly and helpful No reservations of sunbeds from the early morning, at least not at the elite pool ...... This hotel is for people (over 18) who want a quit, very clean hotel with good food. We can recommend it. Most guests are from Germany and England, all with a fine behavior. Portocolom has nothing to offer. We also find that the city is a little dirty. Waste is thrown everywhere. A fine beach (Cala Marcal) 800 meters from the hotel. Collapse
