Firstly I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We normally do 4-5 star hotels but this holiday the budget was a little lower and hence we picked this hotel. I was a little apprehensive - but as it turned out had no real need to be. The hotel in general while old layout was very clean so can have no complaints about that. Public rest rooms were all very clean etc The pool area was very nice - it was very busy at the time and sunbeds hard to come by so maybe some policy of keeping beds needs to brought in. We had lunch in the pool area twice and again no complaints and it was quiet enjoyable. In general the seating area at the pool was very nice and shaded which a lot of other places don't have. In general the staff were very nice and helpful from the entertainment and kids club to the night staff. Once when the water vending machine was out the night porter insisted on refunding the €2 even though I didn't expect it - a nice touch. The location is quiet good being a 10 min walk from the beach and similar to the marina - the town is a little further and uphill - but manageable. And taxis a quiet cheap if required. Now here is the negatives - while small make a big difference. 1. There needs to be a lock on the bathroom door in the bed rooms - a swing open door does not work and people like their privacy. Couples may make it work but if sharing with teenage children it gets difficult. 2. As someone mentioned the shower door needs to go all the way accross the shower - can easily put a towel down but its dangerous and also I'm sure causing issues with water leaking through floors etc. 3. I've no problem with them on;ly changing linen once a week as you get what you pay for but on more than a couple of occasions there was no change of towels or event the bins emptied - with 4 people in a room rubbish builds up and they should be done every day. 4. Lastly if they are providing shower gel/shampoo one small bottle does not do 4 people!!!. Either give enough for the room or put a dispenser on the wall. Again staff at the desk did freely give out the bottles if you went down but I shouldn't really have to go to the front desk to get shampoo before getting into the shower. All those 4 points are easily rectified - but if I had the choice again its those small points that would perhaps make me pick another hotel unless there was a big price difference. Collapse

Lovely clean room, well presented hotel and incredibly friendly staff - especially Victoria and Lilla. The kids loved mini club and the mini disco; Victoria and Lilla speak a range of languages fluently and made the children feel at ease and safe. Entertainment in the day is an aqua gym session, water polo, pool tournaments and table tennis tournaments providing enough people are willing to take part! Evening entertainment for the adults is varied and as long as you're not expecting too much, it's fine but not spectacular. We saw an acrobatic show, dance act and played bingo; there was also a singer, karaoke night and a music quiz. Buffet breakfast was lovely, delicious cocktails at night. Estrella is on tap (and cheaper than the soft drinks!) A slight issue was the evening buffet food wasn't particularly hot - not kept at 70c - but there was plenty of choice and even my fussy kids found something to eat. Expect typical 'all you can eat restaurant' food rather than tapas. There is a big Mercadona supermarket where the locals go a couple of bus stops away, bus fare is 1.5€. Huge range of food as you'd expect from a large chain supermarket. They do cava at 1.80€ and cheap spirits. There's a small but well stocked supermarket about 15 minutes walk uphill in the opposite direction also. Nice Price is located right next to the rear of the hotel - they stock Iceland frozen food but we didn't go there so cannot comment on range or price. On the main waterfront the restaurants are expensive but there are plenty of cheaper yet good places to eat either near the hotel (San Remo and Delfinos both on the big roundabout near the hotel) or up the hill - come out of Tomir, cut across the Portals Car unit and down the slope at the back and then go left up the hill. The kitchenette is small but has a full size fridge (no ice box), hob, microwave, pans, kettle and toaster. No broom or mop which is a pain if you drop a glass! Rooms are cleaned at least 3 times a week. There is a hairdryer provided in the bathroom along with shampoo and shower gel. Bath towels are included. There is TV in the room which picks up BBC 1/2/3/4/News and CBeebies as well as various European channels. A safe is available to rent in the room, beach towels are available for hire and wifi can be purchased in daily or weekly blocks. There were a range of guests from all over the world; families, couples and groups. We were on the third floor and had no issues with noise at night. The nearby Port Portals hotel was very loud one night with a rooftop disco but even that quietened down at about 11.00pm! If you like plane spotting you can watch flights come in and out all day as the hotel is in view of the flight path into/out of Palma, bring binoculars though. Gutted to come home today - we'd happily go back again! Collapse

Nice modern clean rooms (didn't see a single bug/insect for the whole stay!). We were in a Junior Suite and there was lots of space, nice decor and all the necessary amenities. Very friendly staff and maids, lots of activities for children including indoor play room and kids disco. Lovely swimming pool and lots of sun loungers. Very good location, only 20-30 mins from Palma airport and a short walk to the nearby beaches (we found the beach that was a bit further away was the nicest beach). Handy little Iceland shop near the hotel, also very close was Marineland which had things like Dolphin shows (a bit pricey but nice day out). We didn't go but there are a few water parks that are only a ten minute drive away. We had a great holiday and look forward to coming back again one day, strongly recommend! Collapse
