The city was very crowded which made it difficult to access some of the attractions, so we would not visit again in July. Collapse

Please be mindful this review if before the new renovations had begun. Stayed for a week with large group. Reception staff was great and very helpful at all times, day and night. Bar staff was grumpy and rude at all times, but more so at night. Seemed to be inconvenienced when asked to serve drinks at the bar. Breakfast buffet was usual fare and was good. Room was a king size bed which was very comfortable. Room was clean. Some in our group had rooms where the air conditioning did not work at all. Was never fixed despite being brought to hotel's attention. Overall, hotel seemed tired and worn out. Area around hotel to the left seemed "sketchy". Good location to shopping and dining on Grafton Street and other restaurants within walking distance. Will give hotel another try if ever in Dublin again depending on what reviews say after renovations. Collapse

we stayed here a good few years ago and it was lovely so came back here for our wedding trip in October. Previously it was certainly a four star but at present I would suggest a three I'm afraid. The reception staff were super helpful and friendly although the bar staff seemed a bit glum. There was no atmosphere in the bar and it was looking a bit grubby where we were sitting. Not what you'd expect in a four star hotel. We had a lovely room which was great although the wifi was rubbish, even after the manager kindly moved us to an equally lovely room. It's hard to put your finger on it but overall it's needing a bit of a boost. On our last night, it was explained to us that renovations were starting on it the day after we were leaving so hopefully that's exactly what's needed. In the meantime, we found turning left out of the hotel and left again, there's plenty of nice restaurants and if you go the other direction, up Harcourt Street, there's also bars and restaurants. Rooms that we had at the front of the hotel, where we were are quite noisy with traffic and people which can't be helped and didn't bother us. We will return and see the renovations and hope that it's back to it's original ways. Collapse
Rooms are very spacious!

Very clean hotel, staff are friendly and helpful. Quiet hotel which boasts a lovely eating area where breakfast is also served in the morning. Would definitely stay here again. Easy walking distance to some really great shopping areas and also pubs.

Stayed at O'Callaghan Stephen's Green Hotel September 2017. This is a great hotel in a great location - walking distance to excellent restaurants, pubs (including Temple Bar), shopping, Guinness Storehouse, and parks. The pub serves a good breakfast, and fine beers later in the day. Rooms were very clean. The only request I might make is to stay in a room where you don't have to go through 8 or more doors to actually get into your room (not exaggerating). That can be a pain with luggage. There was a rowdy group staying in the hotel at the same time as us (I won't say where they were from but it's a country south of Canada) and when we mentioned it to the front desk they addressed it with the rowdies. Overall a terrific place to stay. Collapse
Oh dear - what a let down.

I had quite high hopes for this hotel, being part of a larger group and with a such a good location. Public areas look a bit tired. Our room on 6th floor was OK, but nowhere near as nice as the Radisson in Galway, where we'd just been. Sandwich lunch in hotel - not very good. Didn't find anywhere we fancied eating in the evening, so we went back to Hotel, having thought that bar food was served until 21.30. Arrived at 21.15, and were told that it stopped at 21.00 - recent change, hadn't had the chance to change the various notices around the hotel. The hotel restaurant was also closed for refurbishment. All the Reception could offer us was that there were plenty of places to eat "up the road and turn left". In fact there weren't - or rather, there was nowhere we would have remotely considered using. Phoned the Radisson Blu, and was told that their restaurant was open until 22.00, and that they served bar food until 23.30. Traipsed back to there, and eventually had a nice Club sandwich in the bar. Not at all happy with O'Callaghan's. Separate shower cubicle worked OK. No flannels - towels OK. Breakfast (in the bar) was reasonably good. VG OJ, usual fruits, good supply of pastries. Cooked breakfast was very nice, but a bit stingy if you were hungry and hadn't been on holiday for a fortnight, with only 1 each of egg (poached?), rasher & sausage. Coffee OK. Overall, good location but hotel nowhere near as good as they claim to be, and over-priced at that. I appreciate that the dining mix-up was a special situation, but they should have handled it better (and should in any case stay open much later like a proper hotel chain such as Radisson). Not recommended. Collapse
