This is a tired, shabby hotel in which nothing quite works properly. My first room (510) had a horribly scratched bath/shower with a wonky loo seat. I asked to be moved and was -the next one was better though the shower control know fell off. The TVs looks about 10 years old (with a poor range of channels) and are tiny , the wifi is slow and there is no bar or room service. On the plus side the hard pressed staff are fine ( and clearly used to complaints) . Collapse

Great location, sadly that was the only thing great about this very shabby run down hotel...from the moment we arrived the check in was an absolute shambles, couldn't locate our reservation...that took 20 mins. We left hotel satisfied that our luggage would be put into our room as we were off for the day sight seeing. Upon our return at 7pm we were met with the same shambolic check in...couldn't find reservation nor room details and after another frustrating 10 mins finally got room sorted. Reception had not even got our luggage to our room, very ordinary service. So the twin rooms are like shoe boxes, very small, very, very hot and in need of a lot, and I mean a lot of TLC. Bathroom has mould in and around taps..housekeeping you need to straighten the sheets on the bed before making it up! Sadly there are some good staff here but the negatives far far outweigh the positives unfortunately.. Collapse

We stayed here on a Thursday night at the start of a long weekend in Dublin. We were only in the hotel for one night, but it did the job. We got a great rate, and with it's central location is the main reason we booked. The location is good, and within easy walking distance to the sights of Dublin. There are some good cafes, and shops on the same street which is handy. The room was fine, but a bit on the smaller size. The room itself is a bit dated, and was extremely hot. The front desk receptionist said they had have had issues with the heating lately. They will also store your bag after check out if need be, which is handy. There is free wifi which works well, but a shame there were no other amenities in the hotel. As many others have said, the restaurant was closed for some reason, but seems its been like this for a while. The only other negative was upon check in, the receptionist was not very friendly. He seemed to be focused on doing some paperwork and asked me to wait, when he was finally ready to check us in he wasn't very welcoming, and almost felt dismissive of us being there. It was odd and a shame! Besides that, the room was good and easy for a night or two in Dublin. Collapse

Central hotels can be noisy but we may as well have been in a room on the ground floor with the windows wide open. A pregnant lady and two ladies with children so we needed at least a somewhat decent sleep. In the Oscar Wilde suite (room 256) we could hear every single car, bus, person etc go by as if we were out on the road. The windows simply aren't sealed properly. Which also contributed to the room being quite cold. We could have been warned in advance of our stay that one of the beds was a sofa bed. The normal bed was quite comfortable. Great power shower too. The suite was very spacious. The hotel, apart from Reception, is really dated and needs a makeover. It's really long overdue. I would have given some feedback on check out. However, the staff member didn't give us the time of day. He didn't ask if we enjoyed our stay. He didn't actually even greet us at all even though it was quiet at the time. We paid over €200 so expected a good night's sleep - we left very disappointed (and exhausted!!) Collapse
