My hubby and I have just spent two nights at the hotel davenport and will definitely be returning. We had an early flight so arrived at the davenport at 8am the reception staff took our bags and asked us to return an hour later having never been to Dublin before we went for a walk to get some breakfast on our return we were asked what floor we would like to be on we chose the 5th so it would be quiet. Our room was lovely with a huge comfy bed could not fault it. The Davenport is in a fab position within walking distance of everywhere about 15 mins from Temple Bar and the airport bus 757 stops outside. We loved Dublin a visit to the Guinness Museum is a must. The Gingerman Pub round the corner from the davenport serves lush food and has a great atmosphere. We met some lovely people and loved the live music in the bars to sum it up we will be back and we will deffo stop at the davenport. Collapse

Our stay at the Davenport Hotel was very pleasant. The room was clean, the shower was great, and the beds were very comfortable. We also had the full Irish Breakfast included with our room. It was pretty standard for the Irish Breakfasts that we had on our trip. They did only have scrambled eggs (no fried). Otherwise was good. The location is great for touring Dublin. The hop-on-hop off buses had a stop right across the street which made it a good base for doing the tourist thing. If/when I return to Dublin, I will put this at the top of my list for accommodations. The front desk was also very helpful when we had to have them hold our bags for the day. Tip - for you Americans, if you want a washcloth, bring your own. Almost all our Ireland accommodations only provide a bath and hand towel. Collapse

We got a really good deal for a night in this hotel and having drove past it several times decided to give it a go. It's a traditionally styled hotel with a really lovely lobby and bar area. The welcome we got from reception (Roisin) was great, really efficient and warm. The room itself was very nicely decorated - traditional in style but still fresh, clean and very comfy. Great beds!! No fridge though which surprised me for a 4* hotel, there's definitely the room for one. A few things could do with updating- WiFi was very slow throughout, the handle fell off the wall in the shower (which itself was very old looking) and the TV wasn't the best. Having said that I'd definitely return here because of the friendly staff and level of comfort... Just a few bits and pieces that i think could be updated Collapse

This hotel is in an excellent position, taxis outside and hop on hop off bus a few yards away. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately this was not the case in the bar, our first evening we waited over 30 mins to be served and eventually walked out. Breakfast service was good with plenty of choice. The rooms were tired and in need of a refurb. Expensive for service and what they had to offer. Collapse

This hotel is located a few paces from Merrion Square and a short walk from the aircoach stop in Kildare Street from Dublin airport. Allow 5-8 minutes for the walk to Grafton Street, depending on your walking speed. The National Gallery of Ireland is 2-minute walk away. The public areas are impressive: spacious, clean and full of style. Check-in was efficient, as the room was prepaid. We were very pleased with our room on the 5th floor, at the rear of the building. The hotel had obviously taken note of my request for a room in a quiet location, as I had one of the best night's sleep in the city so far. The room was very spacious and appeared to have been fairly recently decorated. The bathroom was a good size, too. Both areas spotlessly clean and tidy. Beds very comfortable. Wifi is free and we had good reception. This was our first visit to the Davenport, but it will be on the list for a return trip. Collapse
