My family stayed at the Novus City Hotel during the last leg of our family Mediterranean Cruise vacation. The hotel is in a great location with a subway stop nearby that takes you anywhere you would want to go in the city within a matter of minutes. The view from the roof top bar and pool is just awesome as you can see a great portion of the city along with the Acropolis. The rooms are quaint and nicely appointed. The hotel staff are friendly and quick to address any need that you may have. There is a bar tender named "Jimmy Hendricks" who was the star of the hotel staff. He made delicious hand crafted cocktails and always served them with a smile and a friendly gesture. Collapse

Location of the hotel is great, a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station. The hotel is clean and modern, beds very comfy, good shower. The variety of food for breakfast was excellent. Staff friendly and keen to help. We stayed for 5 nights and used the pool most afternoons, it is not a large pool but really great to swim and relax around, towels for the pool available at the rooftop bar, which we used every evening, fantastic views across the city the acropolis is lit up at night so its quite something to watch the sun go down. There is a varied drinks menu and meals available. Also metro ticket for 5 days is 9 euros, very easy to use the metro, gets you everywhere you need to go. Only minus is the wifi (free) isn't great, but that was the same all over Athens. Nice restaurant close by called Alexander the Great. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Collapse

Location. The hotel is located near the metro station, only a couple stops away from the major stations in the city centre, making it ideal for business travelers. Accessibility is difficult for pedestrians, as the road lacks zebra crossings, but can't fault the hotel for that. Reception. The receptionist who checked us in seemed to be bored and didn't explain at all the facilities and what services the hotel offers. The other receptionist I came across, though, was very helpful and amiable, and was happily engaging in the annoying small talk that bored tourists initiate. Groom service is somewhat of a mystery, as he was absent at the time of our check-in and not at all mentioned by the receptionist, only to suddenly appear the following day. The security guard at night was alert at all times and made sure I got in safely, as I made my way from the taxi into the hotel. Room. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom seemed like it could use a renovation, as some of the facilities looked really worn out. Cleaning. The room was very clean, and the housekeeping department somehow seemed to get to our room at the most convenient time for us. They always made sure to replace our towels with fresh ones. A couple times they had misplaced our personal items -but no hard feelings there! Also, the bathtub area had what looked like mouldy residues in some spots. Breakfast. The breakfast buffet was very satisfying, mostly because espresso was included. The waitress who attended at the buffet was probably the hotel's greatest asset; always smiling, she was very helpful and made sure that the guest had a great meal. Every morning she gave another recommendation on what we should try (she seemed to get the guests' likes right every time!). Bar. The hotel has a nice bar on the roof, which offers a good selection of food and drinks. The view of Acropolis is very beautiful, although more distant than it looks in photos. Unfortunately, the bar lacks "special" brands of alcohol, like Grey Goose vodka for instance, which can be easily overlooked. What really needs to change, though, is the bar service. Both the bartender and the waitress were bored to be there, looking away and taking ages to realise that there were people who wanted to place an order, they frequently disappeared in the back, making it almost impossible to place an order. I even had to get myself up to the bar in order to catch their attention and order our second round of drinks. This terrible service drove us away from ordering any food to accompany our drinks. To sum up, the hotel has many good qualities and is ideal for business travelers, but they definitely need to work on customer service. Collapse

We had a very pleasant 2-day-stay during our visit to greece in July 2016 last year. Hotel is located close to market place, near the metro station. Bus stop is just 2 min walk and very well connected. Staff members are good and cooperative. However there was goof up. We booked a double room however got different smaller room. Had to contact reception for the change after checking details. Though they did it promptly. Second room was much better. Room was big enough with .though there seems to be problem of ventilation in all rooms as you cant open windows. Small pool upstairs, very nice, restaurant at the top is best part of the hotel. Magnificent view of the Acropolis and city from the restaurant. . Breakfast is also very good with lot many options. We will consider returning to hotel. whenever we will visit to athens again.
