We stayed at the Novotel for four nights in February. My rating would be a five had we been explained to that our card would be debited as a guarantee for each room and refunded on checking, this took a chunk of our planned spending money down. Anyway, on the positives, the hotel is in a fantastic central location with views of Times Square. Hotel was clean, beds really comfy and staff really friendly and helpful. We were there when there was a problem with the water supply and had no water from the evening till early morning did not phase us and we felt the hotel did everything they could to apologise and sort ASAP. They also gave out bottles of water. So overall I would stay here again without a doubt. Collapse

We stayed three nights at the hotel. From the booking to the check out and actually leaving the hotel all employees were very friendly and helpful combined with a smile. Great! We had a modern room with two beds with view to the times square. Wow! The room was clean and quiet. Room size was for three, 2adults and 1teenage, well big enough. It had also place to unfold our two big suitcases. Location is next to Times Square, Rockefeller center, Radio City Hall, Wicked Musical etc. I would like to mention Angel, doormen, if you have any questions: where to go, organizing limo service to the airport etc. And of course I recommend this hotel. My husband booked a night at the Novotel so we wouldn’t have to travel back home after a night out in the city. After our evening out, we went back to the hotel and we realized we couldn’t wash our hands or flush the toilet because there was no water. We called the front desk and they explained that there was a water main break a block away that caused the water issue and they have no ETA as it was out of their control. That didn’t give me the warm and fuzzy as I didn’t want to be stuck in a hotel with no running water. My husband was concerned that we would leave and go to another hotel affected by the same water break so we decided to call 311 to understand how wide of an area was impacted and if they had an idea as to how long the fix would take. 311 advised us there were NO water issues anywhere in the vicinity! We proceeded to call back the front desk and ask if the water main break is still causing the lack of water in our room and they said yes and they still did not have an ETA. I informed them that I actually had the city on the line discrediting that story and all of a sudden they put a manager on the line, who quickly said that they just realized that was not the case but it was due to an electrical issue... interesting that the electrical issue only cut out the water and not the lights or tv and only 30 seconds prior it was still a water main break but I decided that it was time to make my own break with the Novotel and told them to promptly refund us. They apologized for the issue and refunded our money with no issue but I really didn’t appreciate the fabricated stories in order to make guests think that whatever was going on with the lack of water and sanitary conditions was completely out of their control. In the end we stayed at the Muse Hotel and it was a complete 180 to the experience at the Novotel. 311 is your best resource for non-emergency questions and tips in NYC! Collapse

The hotel is located covenienlty close to Times Square. The rooms are OK and the hotel has nice bar. You cannot get just a Continental breakfast in the restaurant. You have to take the whole meny. Better walk across the street.

I booked a surprise stay here for my husband’s 30th birthday recently. After making my booking with TUI travel agents, I emailed the hotel requesting a room on a high floor with a view overlooking Times Square. I received a reply saying they would try to accommodate me if they could, which they did! We stayed on the 24th floor. Upon check in, we also received a card wishing my husband a happy birthday, a slice of cheesecake with fresh strawberries and a voucher for 2 drinks free of charge! We were really impressed and felt this was a nice touch. Our room itself was much larger than I had expected, after being told that many rooms in New York are tiny. The bed was comfortable and the shower was of a good size. The hotel offers a free help-yourself coffee in the mornings, this is located near the lifts. But if you’d prefer a coffee machine in your room, just ask at reception. We did and it wasn’t too much trouble, although the coffee downstairs was nicer. Hotel staff are friendly enough and would seem that between them, they speak several languages fluently. There’s also a concierge and information desk. (If you are looking to book trips/tours, then I would highly recommend googling ‘New York City Pass’ to book your trips - it’s cheaper! The location of the hotel is excellent, just a short walk to Times Square, theatres, restaurants and many other tourist attractions. There is a McDonald’s just around the corner, perfect if you’re looking for a cheap breakfast on the go. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would definitely consider staying here again in future.
