I’ve stayed here now on two occasions at different times of the year - both times my overriding impression was of a place in need of investment. Having said that, the front office, bar area, restaurant and gym areas are excellent - with friendly helpful staff and a great pool - but once you go to the rooms, the reality sinks. The first room I was given has the distinct smell of smoke, which sadly is a common observation even now in UK hotels in general - I asked for a change and the second room was fine. From this hotel it’s possible to walk into town, takes about 20 minutes. The lift was under repair during my stay and it looked very messy around the work areas - just a temporary thing I’m sure. Frankly I felt gloomy in that hotel room for 2 nights, I wished I had not booked the cheap non-refundable rate. It was in the depths of winter, yes, but I’ve been in other hotels this winter with a much brighter feeling. Collapse

We booked this hotel for my birthday weekend as it was good value for money and it was a last minute decision to get away for a birthday break. We arrived on a freezing cold snowy Saturday after travelling for hours and was all in good spirits as it was birthday celebrations to arrived at reception to check in and the lady behind the desk could not have been more rude. My sister and best friend was stood behind me having a bit of a giggle whilst i was checking in and she Shhh's them and gave us the most dirty look when i explained we had 2 rooms booked she could only find one in the system and was adamant we had got it wrong i had to pull up the email to prove i was not lying. Once all booked in we went to our rooms and ours simply smelt like sewer was an awful smell all throughout we had to spray with perfume and deodorant before my partner could stand to be in there (Our friends room was much nicer and did not have the smell) My partner noticed that the headboard behind the bed was thick with dust. I called down to reception to tell them my partners asthma would play up and he could not sleep with the dust so could someone up to clean it, The lady on reception said housekeeping was busy for the next hour or so but would be up to clean it shortly whilst we was out during the evening. When we arrived late and tired back nothing had been cleaned and we had to clean the room from dust ourselves. Not good enough really. Also our pillow cases had a large rip in one of them!. Dont get me wrong there are some good points of the hotel: the bar man (can not remember his name but sure it was sylvio or mario something like that) went above and beyond and was a credit to the hotel. The pool and facilities was brilliant The location was good and the beds themselves was comfortable If the dust in the room was cleaned and the sewer smell was not there would stay again. Just disappointing in what could have been a good stay was let down by things that seemed easy to fix. Collapse

I stayed at this hotel with my son for one night as a stop over following delivery of furniture to a family member in London. The hotel location is in a quiet area and only a few mins drive from the M1 motorway I called the hotel to advise I would not be arriving until 9pm (actual arrival 10pm) and they made a note and were very friendly. On arrival there were 2 ladies on reception and I was welcomed and booked in within minutes. Room was a nice size and had separate toilet and bathroom. Iron and ironing board in the room (something our preferred Premier Inn should adopt) and everything was clean. The room was a little bit dated but on the whole a nice comfortable stay. We usually stay at Premier Inn and my son remarked that this felt more like a hotel There was a little games area in the corner but we didn’t use due to our late arrival and wanting to get some sleep after a long day. There was also a small pool open from 6am to 10pm which we thought was fantastic. The next morning we had breakfast in the bar area and were attended to quickly and a pot of tea brought over. The rest of the breakfast was buffet style and the selection was good and the food was very nice. Croissants were especially fresh and soft. 4-6 members of staff were on hand at all times and were quick to replenish stocks or pass us items on request quickly and with no fuss. We checked out just before noon and headed back home. I have another trip booked for Easter weekend with the rest of my family and have decided to book again with Novotel in Heathrow again changing from our usual Premier Inn. The overall feel of the hotel and the layout together with a swimming pool has helped change our preference from Premier Inn. Collapse

I've had to write this because our stay was awful. They allow dangerous dogs around the hotel corridors with a accompanying man that does not look like he has a room here! Fire alarm went off in middle of night, woke everyone up and when asked this was due to drunks behaving badly from the outside. Rooms were dated! Also annoying loud people in small lobby that don't care of surrounding. Nothing in area, have to drive everywhere Will not stay here again! Collapse

This hotel tends to be quite good value for money compared to the centrally located hotels in MK. The rooms are comfortable and it's never to busy which is nice if your using the facilities. It's also a short distance from the centre which is quite handy. Did have an issue with a parking fine (PCN) but after contacting the general manager he managed to get the fine waived, which was very helpful. So thanks Alfredo for sorting that out! Collapse
