- Full bath & Separate Shower - Refrigerator & safe - WiFi was great - Close to Airport (Off the Hoppa) - Buffet Breakfast - 24 hr Gym Very happy with my stay here. Only issue was the restaurant- I asked multiple times for service and waited a very long time for my food to come out. It was then overlooked - actually baked under a heat lamp. The manager came over eventually after repeatedly asking for service and was quite courteous and replaced my meal. The bed was comfortable enough. Collapse
VERY COMFORTABLE - Shame about the setup

This was not the 1st time I have stayed here, but the 1st time I am writing a review. Checked into a room on Saturday late afternoon and the room was setup as requested to accommodate for 2 adults and 2 children. We had a double (queen) size bed and a sofa bed for the kids - this was good as there have been times we've checked into hotels and we've had to ask for someone to come back and set the sofa bed up for us. Room was clean and spacious enough for us We had available a safe, and a kettle with tea/coffee and cups available. A empty fridge was also provided so was impressed as it meant we could put our own drinks in. The 2 downsides to the room are 1 - The toilet is seperate from the bathroom and has no sink in it. I just feel a little uncomfortable having to relieve myself and then opening through 2 doors to wash my hands 2 - There is a door between the toilet/bathroom area which can stay open but feels more like a obstruction and would prefer a open plan type room. The greatest thing about the room was the bed - For the 1st time (now I measure the quality of the mattress) the mattress was great - i really felt it gave me a good night sleep and I feel I can honestly say I woke up feeling much better than I went to sleep. If anyone at Novotel is reading this - I will happily accept a Novotel mattress anyday! Down to Breakfast - I felt there was a respectable selection. Traditional fry up type of food and what impressed me the most was that the vegetarian sausage option was already prepared - I normally have to ask for these to be made at other hotels. A bit dissapointed with the scrambled egg - I felt it was left there for quite a while and only replaced when nearing the end. A selection of cheeses/yoghurts/fruits/bread/french pastries was also available as well as a coffee machine and cereals for the kids. My wife asked for a poached egg and the staff had no issue in making this for her - the chap who served her came accross as very freindly and seemed very happy to accomodate. The biggest dissapointment was that the meat and vegetarian products weren't split very well - they were in seperate pots, but there was confusion with the utensils and for people like me who don't eat certain meat types it wasn't very nice to see that meat was being mixed with veg options. There is sufficient space on the worktop to split these quite well and I think staff should do this. There is a lovely play area for infants downstairs and my 4 year old boy loved it so no complaints there. The check in process was simple but a bit dissapointed at the change they have made recently - on entering the hotel, almost immediately in front of you is a very small table (can't call it a desk) with 1 or 2 staff members sitting down. They check you in using what appears to be a mobile phone - just didn't get that personal feeling. All seemed a bit scripty for me - intro, what's your name, here's your card and here's how you get to your room and this is breakfast time etc. Polite in the approach and in no way rude - but it was better before. I didn't visit the pool this time, but it's a respectable size and if you're having a leisurely trip then it's a nice to have as some of the other hotels around the area don't do have one. Parking is £12 for the night - which is steep as others around can do it for £10, but I think as a resident it should be included. Car park is very small compared to other hotels and I had to park at the other end on a very cold night. You see others parked on double yellows outside the hotel on hotel grounds and not get a ticket and think to yourself have I just wasted £12! Admittedly there are some dissapointments - but nothing to bring the rating down to low. For me it was about the cleanliness, comfort, and access to the M4 to get into Central, which didn't take very long at all if you're driving (20 minutes) They accomodated for children/families very well and staff were very pleasant. Like I said earlier I woke up feeling better than I went to sleep and that was a massive bonus after a week at work and travelling to london. A tip for anyone going here who can walk a few yards - if you go past the car park entrance and turn immediately left there is a residential area with no parking restrictions overnight - you may want to consider parking there to save money and it's less than 5 minutes back to the hotel. I will definitely be coming back! Collapse

The hotel is quite comfortable with a decent breakfast, parking can be an issue but not on this occasion there were enough spaces available. I stayed in an executive room on the third floor, which had ample refreshments and all sorts of bathroom accessories in the event that you had forgotten your washbag. The dinner menu is limited if you stay there for several nights and the service quite slow but then you don’t get rushed to vacate your table either. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms at the front of the hotel are quite noisy from the M4 and surrounding roads, throughout the night. Collapse

We like others found the checkin a little confusing but it does appear many of the chain just check in with a laptop or tablet. The pool was ok once we figured out how to get in. We did have dinner here but had to wait ages for our meal even though it wasn't busy. It cost us 12 pounds to get to the airport in peak time so not too bad from that angle. Collapse
