After having had a pleasant stay here 3 years ago, I decided to use the same hotel this trip. It is a very convenient place to stay for me with only 2 stops to the Bastille Opera House and 1 stop to the Accor Hotel Arena on the Metro which is located very close to the hotel. There really is no place in Paris that cannot easily be acceptable. There is quite a lot of noise from the work on the Gare. In addition there was interior work going on. When it finally got to ear drum splitting levels, I asked for a new room and was accommodated, first to a room that was worse and then to one that was going to work out. Also what the heck was the 5:30 AM fire alarm going off? I was never told but people that made it all the way down said they were just told to return to their room. The staff met all my hotel needs. I most single out the bartender in the evenings, a very talented girl with the liquors and a very good conversationalist when not busy. I even came home with a recipe for a new favorite drink. The food has improved over the years since I was last here. The only problem I ran into was the wait staff telling me that the smoked salmon they served me was the smoked trout I ordered. Come on guys, I'm sort of a gourmand. Collapse

We stayed here for 3 nights from 21-24 October. I travelled with my friend and our sons (both 8). We had booked two rooms - we were on floor 3 (we didn't have a view), but it was quiet) and my friend on floor 5 (with a view of a pleasant square, but it was a little noisy). We arrived at Gare de Lyon and found the hotel easily - it is literally next door! Check in was fairly quick and easy. Our room was fairly small, but modern and it looked recently refurbished. It had one large double bed (which was very comfy) and a small sofa (not for sleeping on, though). There was a mini fridge with one complimentary small bottle of Evian per day. There were also tea and coffee making facilities, a large wall mounted TV and The shower room was a good size with a wonderful walk in rainfall shower. We were satisfied with the room. We ate in the hotel on the first night. The hotel had a set menu for 19 Euros but it did not cater for the veggies (i.e. me) and the only veggie dish on the main menu was a baked macaroni dish - which was awful. The others found their respective meals (the kids ate from the kids menu & had spaghetti bologna use, my friend salmon) disappointing - verdict on the restaurant for dinner was overpriced and underwhelming. Breakfast was a different story and was better with a reasonable selection of hot and cold items, from sausage and eggs through to cereal and continental breads, pastries & cheeses. Coffees were good. One major plus point was free kids entertainment. On day 1 there was a balloon artist and our kids had amazing balloons made to their design - we still have ours, an amazing plane. On day 2 there was a face painter - just brilliant. The hotel also has some great kid friendly touches that are hard to find in Paris including a small swimming pool (open 24 hours) which our kids used most evenings - again a fantastic bonus. There was also a kids area with x box games and other activities to keep them occupied. The reception was a bit hit and miss, e.g. on checking out they said I owed over 300 euros. They were trying to charge me for the room we paid for back in the UK, and then they also tried to charge me twice for the tourist tax. However, they were very helpful in sourcing itineraries for us and lent me a socket adapt or as I had forgotten mine. Overall the plus points outweighed the negative and I would certainly recommend this hotel as a base for exploring Paris with kids. Collapse

This hotel is everything you need, located next to the tube station which makes it easy to get to and from the centre of paris. We jumped on and off the tube every day to allow us to get the the centre, visit the tower and other site's, only a short journey. Our room was lovely double bedroom with a small bathroom, there was an indoor swimming pool. We went to breakfast every morning, the variety was good it was a buffet something for everyone. The only thing I would say was the bar was pricey for alcohol but it's the same anywhere in paris!! Would stay at this hotel again. Collapse
